The virus is actually a pretty minor plot point in Gen V - if that's all you heard you really haven't been spoiled. There are some things later on in this season (particularly some stuff in episode 4 and bits from the trailer that haven't occurred yet) that really spoil major plot points and the ending of Gen V, so you really ought to watch that before you go past episode 3 of this season of The Boys.

I honestly can't track what you were on about with the Yoda failure stuff. Are you suggesting if we know other people have failed we shouldn't fail? Is knowing about other people's failure the same as experiencing failure ourselves? The lessons we learn from the EXPERIENCE of failure are very different than learning the details of others' failures. Though we would like to think if we learn enough about the failures others we could somehow avoid the experience ourselves.

I really love this film, but I can understand the argument that it's awkward as the middle part of a trilogy.

After watching the prequels and the Clone Wars, Yoda and Obi-Wan's advice to Luke is all the more understandable. They were manipulated into The Clone Wars when Yoda took the Clone Army to save his friends. That one decision played right into the plans of the Sith and they don't want Luke to fall into the same type of Sith machination.

Should Yoda have let Dooku execute Padme, Anakin, and Obi-Wan in Episode II? That was the alternative to fighting the Clone War. Of course, if they had got Dooku at that time, they may have avoided the rest. But, he got away. Yoda's fear of letting those good people he loved be executed "cloud his judgment." In season six Yoda gains the wisdom that he has that fear and it is inevitable.

It's also instant karma for Ashoka as she was ready to condemn Letta with very circumstantial evidence.

I think it is implied that Tarkin was setting Ashoka up for Palpatine. Separately, Barriss was probably serving Palpatine as well. It was important for him to separate Ashoka from Anakin.

Generally, I think people are way too hard on the Jedi. Yes, they lean a little too much on dogma over actual wisdom at this point, but they got themselves wrapped up in something they cannot handle because they cannot know the true villain. After Yoda decided to use the clones to save Padme, Anakin, and Obi-wan they were committed to the war. If they had gotten Dooku at that time they could have stopped it all, but they didn't. Your assessment of the Onderan arc compared to the Duchess Satine arc was off. Obi-wan was telling Ashoka to leave for her safety because the Jedi couldn't send help. Obi-wan risked himself to go save the Dutchess, but also couldn't involve the Jedi at large. Also, as powerful as they are, there are only 10,000 Jedi and 100 Quadrillion Republic citizens for every (that's like 1 to 10 TRILLION I think). They were pretty vulnerable but managed to alleviate the need for the Republic to have an army for thousands of years. That is until Palpatine maneuvered a way to force their hand into having an army.
