I honestly think he would of won or atleast shot eachother if it wasn't for the deputy. If you watch the scene Cobb looks over at the deputy as he draws and cad bane has already shot by then
I never watched The Clone Wars or Rebels shows until after watching The Mandalorian season 2 and being like, “Who’s Bo-Katan?” 😂 I’m so glad I did because I was excited when I saw the hat. Instantly knew who it was.
For someone who had no clue who CAD BANE was this scene was amazing to watch. Love the Western vibes. This is how you win back the fans after the sequel trilogy disaster.
I love how every reactor that predicts the outcome of the fight, without fail, has Cad Bane as the winner. Not even one thinks Cobb has a prayer in hell.... Just goes to show how incredibly skilled we all know Cad Bane is.....
I think the beautiful part about Cad Bane's appearance is that, even if you weren't aware of him, he still gives off such a TERRIFYING presence. Even Cobb Vanth was so shook!!! Like literally staring down death in the eye.
Deliciously terrifying. First I've heard the name. I froze up and stopped breathing for a second when he started to speaking. Looks like a weekend binge of Clone Wars and Rebels. What an incredible entrance.
I am not a Star Wars fan. I saw the original movie in like the 90s and played the original Battlefront for the Xbox, and thats the extent of my knowledge. I just recently binge watched The Mandelorian and Book of Fett. I know nothing about Cad Bain. That being said, when he came slowly walking out, and we saw that face and heard that voice, I knew immediately that Cobb was dead meat. Such a menacing presence.
Some common reactions: "It's fucking Cad Bane" "Live action Bane!" "OH NO, Dont die Vanth!" "Cobb is going to die" "Please kill that dumb deputy" I felt the same way, especially for the deputy.
One little detail of if you know you know: even though star wars lazer weapons can kinda shoot infinitely, Cad Bane shot 5 shots. Back in the era of westerns with 6 rounds revolvers, they are commonly only loaded with 5 shots to prevent misfiring (one empty chamber so the hammer has no bullet to hit). This telegraphs to people who don't know who Cad is, that he is highly proficient and dangerous (if they know westerns).
I get the western reference, but star wars blasters fire heated plasma and have to be reloaded too when the Tibana gas runs out. You just never see it happen in the movies
Amid all of the Bane excitement, can we take a moment to appreciate Olyphant's acting? His irritated/scared glance at his deputy when he comes back out was just perfect. In that glance, you can see that Cobb realizes that the deputy probably just killed both of them.
Can we all take a moment to realize we are talking about a person that don’t exist from a fictional book… is this what guys who have never seen a real set of boobs talks about with his other virgin frinds

Your initial reaction might have been that he died but rewatching the scene you can see he was shot pretty high up in the shoulder. He'll live but his quick draw is shooting days will probably be over.
@@thefoilcollector9392 Yeah it was obvious that it was a warning shot since Cobb was only trying to save the deputy by firing, meanwhile the deputy was hell bent on actually killing bane which is why bane took him out of the picture.

Explaination for those who don't know about the tubes on Cad's neck: Cad Bane has literally worked for the sith Dooku and Sidious. He's dealt with Jedi. To avoid being killed by any use of the force such as force choke, he uses tubes as an alternate way of breathing. This dude is dangerous as hell, and fuck, we should be excited for next week.
You know, I always wondered why he had those tubes, since his species as been shown without them before. I thought it was because of an injury, but when he fought Hunter, he didn't have them on.
@@kamikazelemming1552 yeah, after order 66 he didn’t really need them anymore. Evidently he kept them though, just didn’t have them on when confronting the Bad Batch
Cad Bane has become so ingrained in Star Wars as this badass super-lethal Bounty Hunter that just the mere sight of a HAT is enough to get people hyped.
He's fought Clones, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka AND lived through it all. He resisted 3 council level Masters and the chosen one TRYING TO ENTER HIS MIND......AND LIVED. Very few in the Wars universe can match that badassery(EXCEPT MAYBE Vader and the Emperor)
@@bemasaberwyn55 Cad bane for me is on the same level as wedge Antilles and thrawn. As in people who can’t use the force yet are such badasses in their respective careers, that they can keep up with Jedi. Wedge is a better pilot, bane fought Jedi regular and survived, and thrawn just outsmarts them (and anyone else for that matter). Honestly we need characters like that to show that not everything is decided with Force in this universe
He's one of those few rare people In the star wars universe that is capable of competing with jedi masters and able to kill them, with pure skill alone, no powers. He was also known as the most famous bounty hunter in the Clone wars. As soon as he entered this scene people who knew about him knew the other 2 were dead.

StarWars Explained when doing the episode review said similar, Kill the red shirt, wait no Vanth is wearing a Red shirt, you know who I meant. Or soemthing to that affect
1. I only knew of Cad Bane from peripheral information, never watched Clone Wars, and I still shat myself when I saw his silhouette on the horizon. His voice sent a chill down my spine and the reveal of his eyes ran my blood frigid. PERFECT way to intro a character. 2. I almost expected Vanth to die, until I saw where the blaster bolt landed and breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. Bane put one in Vanth's shooting arm to neutralize him as a threat, whereas he GUNNED. DOWN. THAT. DEPUTY. If that had been a six-gun in his hand it'd be empty. The Marshall was a warning. The deputy was a message. Just my take on it. :)
His intro was so good I just fully believed Vanth died. And he’s one of my top favorite characters! Never heard of Cad before, and I was convinced he’d downed a protagonist. Chilling.
What’s crazy about this scene, other than you know….everything, is that it shows Cad Bane’s wisdom and skill. You’ll notice that even though the Deputy draws first, Bane takes Cobb out first because he knows he’s the real threat, THEN he puts the Deputy down……
the Deputy still had his pistol strapped. He couldn't pull it, and it was still in the holster when he died. Bane never takes his eyes off cobb, and when he looked away Bane pulled on him.
Mate cad bane is at least 70 years old and still working as bounty Hunter. Remember that saying bout be afraid of an old man in profession where young men die? This is a definition of that. Experience trumps everything
i remember screaming cobb just do whatever he wants you're not winning this. this is cad bane he's really old but you're still fucked if you try to square off against one of the best bounty hunters and killers in the galaxy
I'm glad I was not the only one to immediately identify Cad Bane with the first shot... even while being so far away. I was like "Who in the galaxy would wear a hat like that? It has to be!"
saaaaame!! My husband hasn't seen clone wars so he had no clue why i was screaming at the tv! LOL. I love all these reactions. It's like getting to relive that epic moment!
cad bane has become one of those iconic characters at the level of vader. like how we know its vader from hearing him breathing, we know its cad from seeing the hat
Bane is my 3rd favourite character but Thrawn is definitely number 1, I hope that they won't destroy him like they did with Boba, Timothy Zahn is necessary to help the writes to portray Thrawn well same with Lars Mikkelsen
We’ll be getting Thrawn no doubt in the Ashoka series. With how they left her in rebels and the name drop in her Mando appearance and given the directors very good job dropping lots of animated characters it just has to happen.
I think it is a testament to good freaking writing and direction when everybody is begging for Cobb not to die. We had him for a single damn episode and then a few moments in this episode, and he is so well liked.
Cad Bane is genuinely one of the coolest villains to come out of the animated shows like Clone Wars and I was so happy to see him done right in live action :D And yeah I love how just from the hat most of us just went "NO WAY" followed by "...OH NO, COBB!" because that's just how scary Bane is. Cobb, I love ya, but you had no chance of winning that quickdraw
You know what I just realized? Boba Fett is the Sheriff in this western and Cad Bane is the baddie working with the Railroad (the Pike Syndicate). The Tuskens were the Natives of the West who save Boba from a hard strut, which means that we might see them come in clutch in the war. His fellow bounty hunters and crew are old friends and locals he hires to protect the "town" of Tatooine against the big bad outsiders who want to exploit them.
The deputy had a strap over his blaster, I just noticed that. That explains why he was the first one to try to draw but didn’t even get his blaster out of his holster.
I've gotta say, I absolutely love Cad Bane's entrance as it fully preserves his identity as a terrifying legend more than a person, but the attention to detail gets me most. The deputy is so worked up that he tries to draw his gun first, causing Cobb to look away from Cad and give him the opportunity to shoot him before the deputy. The deputy should've managed to at least take his gun out of its holster, but he didn't remove the thumb break due to the tension of the scene and Bane noticed as much, essentially reinforcing his confidence that he would be able to take both of them on in a quickdraw. And what do you know, the Deputy doesn't manage to even clear leather before getting blasted
Cad bane precedes hardcore star wars fans. His reputation as a one if the greatest bounty hunter in the Galaxy is top notch. Everyone feels the intimidation and terrifying presence since time gap in the clone wars, the bad batch, and rebels. Cad bane is a legacy character to watch out for. I can't wait for Bobba Fett vs. Cad bane showdown in the finale. This is worth to watch the last episode. 👌💯👍😁

@@FloBro31 I do get what you're saying, but I have a feeling the final episode coming up will more than make up for it. And either way, unless they kill him off, I SERIOUSLY doubt that this will be the last we see of Boba Fett. And speaking for myself, I think it's fantastic. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.
That is the reason Dave Filoni is my favourite director, J J Abram's tried his best to screw and shit on everything, and there were no live debut appearances.
I love how the expression Cobb has when he sees Cads eyes for the first time....is the same look of cold dread that the Rebel soldier has in Rogue One when Darth Vader ignites his lightsaber.
Cad Bane: “Boba Fett is a cold blooded killer who worked for the empire.” Cobb Vanth: “So what does that make you? The messiah?” Cad Bane: “No.. I’m the reaper.”

The second I saw him, I thought, “No way that is who I think it is,” and when I heard the voice, I was internally screaming with joy, (I couldn’t externally scream because of my roommate)
The reactions to Cad Bane really shows you who's watched the animated shows and who hasn't😂 If you haven't watched those by now, what are you even doing??
@EZON TV the animated shows are still sooooo good as an adult. I didn't see Rebels till I was 21 and I just rewatched Clone Wars last year. They absolutely hold up
Grew up with the original trilogy, I haven’t watched the animated series so I didn’t know who Cad Bane was, waiting for my kids to get a bit older so we can all enjoy watching it for the first time together.
I haven’t thought of him since I watched clone wars growing up. Weird how recognizable he is and I freaked out as he was one of my favorite characters.
It just shows how good of a character and how badass he is that the first reaction in half of these is like "OH NO! THEY'RE DEAD. Is that Cad Bane? Oh yeah then they're goners"
This was SO perfect for Cad Bane. He's basically a cowboy. His attire, weapons, and mannerisms and so it was so fitting that he strolls into a town in the dessert and is in a showdown like cowboys do in real life. If any Star Wars character deserves to be in a western situation, it's him Side note: I'm pretty sure Cobb is not dead. Bane shot him on the left side while the heart is on the right so he likely will be ok
Bane wasn't just faster. He wasn't concerned with speed. He was waiting for the right moment. He knew exactly what was going to happen. Bane always knows who he is up against and how to beat them before he even arrives.
I remember back in 08/09 first seeing Cad Bane in the Clone Wars series I thought he was so badass I would’ve never thought we’d see a live action version of him lol
I never watched any animated Star Wars But I played the lego games, and just with that, I knew about Cad Bane, and got hyped when I saw the hat Me and my friend instantly went "It's him", so good to see him in live action

I love that CAD bane's hat is so iconic that everyone just recognized him from that alone. I myself flipped shit as soon as I saw it. Dave filoni knows what the fuck he's doing.
His creator said he was based on Lee Van Cleef's portrayal of Angel Eyes and of LVC's general mannerisms, way of moving, etc. The opening sequence is a direct steal (homage?) To the beginning of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, where Angel Eyes approaches the farmers property in longshot and slowly gets closer.

Bro I love how Cobb Vanth is almost like Raylan Givens. He's a marshall with a quickdraw, and Raylan is a U.S marshall with a quick draw. I loved both of Cobbs scenes they were so suspenseful and I want more. Cobb isn't dead you know it.
Cad seems to be the quicker draw
@@kenXtripleI it's difficult to say because vanth was distracted with the deputy during the draw. You can see vanth giving him the side eye.
@@StabStabStabStabby Must of been the moment Cad was waiting for.
I love how everyone can tell it’s him from a distant silhouette
I love that CAD bane's hat is so iconic that everyone just recognized him from that alone.
I myself flipped shit as soon as I saw it.
Dave filoni knows what the fuck he's doing.
The entire film sequence is an homage to "Joe", "Manco", "Blondie", The Man With No Name. Or even Angel Eyes, which works just as well.
mando is basically the man with no name he even walks and talks the same if you said eastwood did mandos voice i would believe you
cad looked like angel eyes too me
His creator said he was based on Lee Van Cleef's portrayal of Angel Eyes and of LVC's general mannerisms, way of moving, etc. The opening sequence is a direct steal (homage?) To the beginning of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, where Angel Eyes approaches the farmers property in longshot and slowly gets closer.
