Yes, the KMN cabaret presents history in a humorous way. Whether it looks like this or not, the method works! In your case, you became interested in history. I became interested in history thanks to my father and the television program "Sensacje XX wieku" (sensations of the 20th century) that I watched on our Polish television. The form and the speaker can do wonders for the field of knowledge. I also use humor in conversations with friends. It's fun to tell a true story that sounds like a piece of pop culture. Then people ask: "why didn't they teach this at school!"
This sketch told you so much about history because it is one of the sketches of the entire show which is called "History of the World According to the Cabaret of Moral Anxiety". I highly recommend watching the entire show, I'm sure you'll like it.
There is a whole season of this kind of sketch by KMN- History of Poland by KMN point of view, and History of the Wolrd by KMN point of view, (like Yalta conf before) if you can check them all with subtitles I recommend it ;)
You didn't even know how Socrates died... Everyone in Poland knows-that's why it was so funny. But we knew it was based on real facts. And you didn't know... Differences in education? But the good thing is that you bothered to check the history and spread the knowledge to others.

The bit about Socrates proposing a philosopher-king was actually something Plato, Socrates' pupil, proposed.

Im in a process of watching bits of the show :)
Their sketch about Benito Mussolini always makes me laugh 😁
never seen this, very funny 😂
Part of the whole show which is called "History of the world according to KMN" (Historia świata według KMN")

That's a simple lie i have no idea how Socrates died, such as, and i will say it without hesitation 80% of Poles.
@@marcin7054Yes, you might be right, it was in high school history classes, and not everyone attended high school. Sorry.
Fun fuct: this is almost 100% copied from Woody Allen's book "Side Effect", to be more precise this fragment is called "My Apology"
