I have a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T and despite the fact that the '23 has newer tech and gets better fuel economy, I wouldn't even consider it over my '21. The 2.0T is so good in the 10th gen Accord. The more you drive it, the more you appreciate it and love it. It truly is a gem of a vehicle. I was at the dealer getting mine serviced just yesterday and got into a conversation with one of the salespersons and he and I talked about how Honda dumbed down the performance and fun factor in the new model. He said there have been numerous people who have mentioned it and he also encouraged me to keep mine because the demand would be high in the future. I just wish Honda had dropped the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid as their core engine and kept the 2.0T option for those of us who prefer more performance.

Y’all need to get your facts straight. You mentioned multiple times the new accord has wireless Apple car play and the old one didn’t which is wrong. You also talked about the Honda sensing the new accord has with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, etc. saying it was much safer and easier to drive than the ‘21, but the last gen accord has all that same stuff too. It’s very misleading for people that are actually shopping between these cars and you need to get the information right. The new accord has bigger and nicer screens, but it doesn’t actually have any real new technology in it.
💯 I just got a 2019 2.0 a little over a month ago. So glad I did. Haven't had many chances to stretch its legs, but when I have been able to lay into the throttle, it's incredible! Gas mileage in heavy traffic is pretty bad, even in Eco, but in the burbs and highway, I'm completely satisfied.

There is no real reason to upgrade to an 11th gen if you have a 10th, the only difference is that it's slower and hybrid everything else is the same that's why I'm keeping my 10th gen 1.5t 6mt
If you're coming from a hybrid to another hybrid then it makes more sense. For people coming from the 2.0T it's hard to now just get a hybrid if you had no interest whatsoever for it in the past. I would keep it too but I actually got rid of my 20 Accord Touring cause it ain't no V6. The 2.0T is faster but it doesn't sound or feel nice at all. Honda needs to make an Accord Type-R already.
Honestly, for my 2021 Accord 2.0T for whatever it's worth, the tech I can put in manually from the 2023 through aftermarket but putting a 2.0 engine in a 2023 is literally impossible, I love my 2021/22, they need to bring that back.
Honda did pretty much the same thing as Mercedes S class did. New car looks smoother and younger, and lost that aggression. Pretty much that happened with the Mercedes W222 it looked like a business class very classy and business style, with W223 that changed.
Needs to be a bit larger. I LOL about the screen size stuff as while the new one is larger and a bit nicer, the reality is most people use Apple Car Play and Android Auto either way.
I had the 10th gen, great car but I think the 19 inch wheels are way overkill. Winter tires for those are very expensive. I really don't like this trend of larger wheels and smaller tire side walls. I know it is for looks but not impressed especially with the associated poor ride quality and costs of related rubber. Glad they ditched the push button shifter.
The push-button shifter was one of the best features. It really took only 2 days to adjust to the difference, which really wasn't that different. You do have to "find" the right button instead of the stick, but that is trivial. And easier to do without looking once you learn.Slide your hand down the array while pushing lightly with your index finger, and it just "falls" onto the Reverse button without fail. And the Drive button is so big, with a raised rim, that it is easier to find without looking than the stick. And once you have "soft" shifting, you can change the setting to shift into park when you turn the car off. You really don't use the other buttons except in isolated situations, like a pull-thru car wash for the Neutral button. And then there is the extra room. No, I'm upset they ditched it.
You’re right - dropping their 2.0L turbo motor is a major disadvantage for the new one. We currently are leasing a 2022 2.0T Sport for a daily driver for my wife, and the engine rocks. You’re getting a slightly detuned Civic Type R motor without the weight and complication of a hybrid, plus no CVT!
I have a ‘21 Accord Touring 2.0T and my dad just got a ‘25 Accord Hybrid Touring. The refinement of his ‘25 is noticeably better than my ‘21. His car is smoother, quieter, has a better sound system, has newer technology, gets a bigger screen and is generally better overall than mine in many areas. The one area that mine shines is in the fun to drive category. As nice as his is, it just can’t compete in pure driving pleasure. Don’t get me wrong. I like driving his car but there is truly something special about my 2.0T power plant that his car fails to capture. It’s so odd to me driving them back to back because it’s clear that the two cars have completely different missions despite the fact that they’re both Honda Accords. It’s hard to say that one is definitively better than the other because it all depends on what you’re looking for in your car. His drives great but lacks the fun factor. Mine is super fun but lags in refinement. If I were to get a new Accord, I could probably adjust and be mostly content with it but I would definitely miss my 2.0T. For now, I’m keeping mine.
I remember getting into the 10th gen accord at a collision repair place that I worked at an I was blown away by the interior it almost seemed like I hopped into a rolls Royce which is saying a lot for an economy car that interior is so nice which is what has me on the fence between the 10th gen and the 11th gen
Maybe I’m in the minority but I think the 9th generation Accord is the greatest. It looked amazing, and the V6 Touring looked beautiful. I always thought the 10th looked like a Chevy Malibu. The only thing legendary about it was the 10speed turbo. It was quick.
I have read that there is no Sirius/xm radio available. Also, the built-in google infotainment will require a subscription after the first 3 year, just one more monthly payment, unless you lease it.
Agree the 10th gen was the killer looking car outside but love the new tech updates inside on the new one. The new one outside isn't a head turner like the 10th gen was.
All the auto journalists over the past decade plus complaining about hard plastics in the interior, thank you. Because of this non stop complaining cars are now ridiculously priced. Nicer materials mean higher prices. These are not luxury vehicles. Hard plastics can do their job and look good if done properly. Keep the touch points nice and thats it. Easier to clean and most of all easier to afford. I prefer the prior gen accord. The 2.0T motor is my choice. Dropping that motor drops the accord from a vehicle I would buy. Plus the new accord looks like a new take on the older ford taurus. Not my cup of tea.
I just traded in my 2021 Accord Hybrid Touring for the vastly improved 2023 Accord Hybrid Touring, specifically for what you just mentioned. Although I really liked my 2021, I really, really, really like my 2023! The newly designed interior, the electronic features, the vastly more comfortable leather seats, the feel of the drive and ride; and though I liked the push button transmission shifts, the gear stick really gives the added feel of "I'm driving" involvement. I kinda wish Honda still offered the very popular Sonic Gray exterior color, which I was told is no longer offered on the 2023 11th generation Accord, I am pleased with the Surban Gray, as well, though it does not get that instant attention of the former Sonic Gray that I had on my 2021. Since 2017, I have owned a 2016, 2019, 2021, and now a 2023 Honda Accord. The 2023 will likely be my last Honda Accord for many years to come unless some really drastic improvements and style changes occur. I am officially a Honda Accord groupie and can not envision myself reverting or converting to any other brands at this point.
We love our 2018 Hybrid Touring. Was looking forward to getting the 10th gen when it name out. That car is sexy. New one not a much but great interior features for sure. Enjoy.
I might consider the red 5th generation you did a short on recently. It's everything I want and nothing I don't. Plus, 67 miles on a 29 year old car is pretty much new anyways.
Oh yes, give me the 11th gen, 2023 with less horsepower, less torque, a CVT trans and more bland looks. Common, who are you fooling?! Really? Not buying it Case! Pinky ring and all!
The less horsepower and torque are due to the refinement of the engines done by many automobile companies in their cars bcoz of the strict emission norms issued by the governments of many countries due to the increasing air pollution. That's why EVs are coming in trend now.
Sadly, this will be the path that all auto companies will soon go to once government regulations move to full EV. This is a way of Honda easing us into the future. You will be happy saving money from the gas pump at the end of the day
and for $40 I added it to my 2019 Touring which makes it nice for local drives. Longer drives I still just plug it in to charge. My passengers use the wireless charging but I like my phone where I can see it.
I just leased a 24 Accord Hybrid Sport and came from a 2020 Sport 2.0T and I really find the new one to be way better. The interior, seat comfort, refinement are all superior to the 10th gen. Don't forget the MPG increase too. My only gripes are no heated seats or mirrors, but those can be added. I got the car discounted a lot from both the dealer and Honda Financial had a good rebate.
I don't love the design of the new Accord, but I traded my 21 Sport 1.5T for a 24 EX-L Hybrid and I feel it's a big improvement in comfort and ride quality. The 21 was really harsh and noisy on bumpy roads and the 23 is so smooth
Agree. My 2.0t pulls down 34-36mpg on the highway already so 41mpg there isn't a huge gain. In the city it gets 20-22 mpg with my spirited fun but had they paired the 2.0t with a battery pack, it too could easily pull down 44mpg AND Still be fun and then when desired could actually have been quick a bit quicker. They totally missed the mark IMO.
In my opinion, Honda 2.0T engine with 10 speed gearbox is an amazing car. Its performance on the road, the pickup, the reduced road noise in cabin (low RPMs), gear ratio, unique gear style in the cabin, sleek design, are all the points to go for 10th gen 2.0T. I really wish, Honda would have continues 2.0T option in 11th generation, as there is a proper fan base for those engines and gears!
No it doesn’t😂 I just bought my wife the 11th gen sport and I wouldn’t trade it for a 10th gen even if they gave me money on top, stock for stock the 11th gen is better but customized I have to agree the 10th gen is sleeker, but that’s it
Interior of the newer model feels cheaper though its cleaner. Honda used lots of plastic and cost cutting. The 2021 Sport 2.0 is far superior to the 2023 Sport Hybrid(full cloth seats in the newer one). AC vent nobs have cheaper feeling plastic. The fit and finish is not even close and you can see it in current dealership pricing. They'd throw in deals to get you to take the 2023 but will not budge so much on price for the older generation as it has more market demand and value. Test drove both.
They should have simply kept the 2.0t and mated it with the hybrid system. They could have pulled down a faster more performance vehicle AND gotten better mileage.
I came across this video as I was curious about the horsepower differences between my 2019 Sport 2.0 and the new Accord. These guys came across to me as salesmen for the new Honda Accord 😅 I'm a Honda girl, but not really impressed with the new design. I love my 2019 Accord, but will admit android auto sucks at times connecting, so I hope that the feature was improved upon in the newer Accords. Nevertheless, I understand why my Honda svs guys always tell me to never sell my Accord. Probably has alot to do with it being a 2.0T manual transmission with low mileage.
The 11th generation was engineered to appease the green crowed who prefer fuel economy over the performance and superb drivability of the 10th generation 2.0 liter engine. The newer models are okay but lack satellite radio, spare tire and rear seat air vents in the lower models. I am extremely happy with my 2018 Accord with the 2 liter engine and still get much satisfaction every time I beat a Bimmer of the line.
@12:15 "if I had the money, I would go for the 11th gen Accord". Sucks, Honda Accord used to be a "affordable sedan", but now it is crossing Lower-Mid level German cars, in terms of pricing. Understandably the Accord is packed with tech, but pushing high $39s for a sedan, that has the typical Honda plastic door panels nah, I will pass.
Flashy isnt always good and honestly ur nit picking if hard plastic points are an issue its a not lexus but yeah the 10th gen is way better especially with the manual and 2.0 T engine

I like the look of the new Accord but wish they had more 1.5T options than just the base models. Some of us like our non-electric vehicles.
I have a 23 touring you can't even notice it's a hybrid till you look at your fuel consumption
I would’ve loved the old front with the new back
Wow, that volume knob and filler panel under the screen seems to be a huge afterthought
Well it is not, and you are clueless
It was
Needs to be a bit larger.
2.0T is the best engine! Too bad it’s not in the redesign
Good thing the tlx has it.
@@993mike it's not a disadvantage
The '21 Accord taillights (that generation at least) looks like a stapler to me. Once you see it, you can't unsee it
Ugliest rear lights ever!
The 11th Gen looks dated compared to the 10th Gen
Looks like an older Passat to me
I remember getting into the 10th gen accord at a collision repair place that I worked at an I was blown away by the interior it almost seemed like I hopped into a rolls Royce which is saying a lot for an economy car that interior is so nice which is what has me on the fence between the 10th gen and the 11th gen
The previous generation looks much newer than the upcoming 2023 models!
When it comes to looks the older gen looks better
I rather the old style then the new it’s not quite there yet with the new 😊
Agree the 10th gen was the killer looking car outside but love the new tech updates inside on the new one. The new one outside isn't a head turner like the 10th gen was.
I really like the new interior.
Not my cup of tea.
i'm not so sure on how many more features it has. other than the hybrid features they're pretty much the same.
I mean this nicely.. If you want a cheap accord, simply buy a used accord.
Hated the 2023 when it first dropped but I seen a few in person and it grew on me
I just traded in my 2021 Accord Hybrid Touring for the vastly improved 2023 Accord Hybrid Touring, specifically for what you just mentioned.
I have a 21 hybrid touring sonic gray, are you getting better gas mileage or about the same? Is the 23 quieter? Do you hear less road noise? Thanks
We love our 2018 Hybrid Touring. Was looking forward to getting the 10th gen when it name out. That car is sexy. New one not a much but great interior features for sure. Enjoy.
Love the new 2023! The tail lights and interior are on point.
R u being for real? U have no taste in cars
Big differences between this two older looks more sport oriented. New one looks more old people way. Of course the older is the best choice.
Agreed
The less horsepower and torque are due to the refinement of the engines done by many automobile companies in their cars bcoz of the strict emission norms issued by the governments of many countries due to the increasing air pollution. That's why EVs are coming in trend now.
Sadly, this will be the path that all auto companies will soon go to once government regulations move to full EV. This is a way of Honda easing us into the future. You will be happy saving money from the gas pump at the end of the day
New one is so much better
I wish they still did the 17" wheels where you could get 47+ mpg. I got that in my '19 accord hybrid touring until I got non eco tires.
They do. Get the Accord Hybrid EX-L trim. Combined fuel economy is 48.
they took a step back as far as exterior design in my opinion
The 2021 Touring comes with wireless Apple Carplay and Anroid Auto.
and for $40 I added it to my 2019 Touring which makes it nice for local drives. Longer drives I still just plug it in to charge. My passengers use the wireless charging but I like my phone where I can see it.
the front face of the 2023 honda looks like it has depression lol
10th gen has wireless CarPlay in 2.0T trims
I just leased a 24 Accord Hybrid Sport and came from a 2020 Sport 2.0T and I really find the new one to be way better. The interior, seat comfort, refinement are all superior to the 10th gen. Don't forget the MPG increase too. My only gripes are no heated seats or mirrors, but those can be added. I got the car discounted a lot from both the dealer and Honda Financial had a good rebate.
new accord front end kind of looks like a less aggressive 24 mustang.
They got the 10th Gen right. It’s a perfect sedan. All they needed to do was keep the 2.0t and make minor adjustments to the front end.
I don't love the design of the new Accord, but I traded my 21 Sport 1.5T for a 24 EX-L Hybrid and I feel it's a big improvement in comfort and ride quality. The 21 was really harsh and noisy on bumpy roads and the 23 is so smooth
The only good thing about the new 2023 Accord is the space and the interior
Wish they made it a turbo hybrid 😅
I got a '23 Accord on Turo while on vacation and am about to buy one. Way better than the 2021
Wireless CarPlay is also on the 21-22 Touring model.
I went to get the brand new accord and ended up buying 22 sport 2.0. The new design sucks when you see that in person lol
No it doesn’t😂 I just bought my wife the 11th gen sport and I wouldn’t trade it for a 10th gen even if they gave me money on top, stock for stock the 11th gen is better but customized I have to agree the 10th gen is sleeker, but that’s it
23 version looks like a ford Taurus aka a platypus 😂
Does the Honda key still have the window controls in it?
Probably would have costed an arm an a leg to buy which is what Honda doesn’t want
I have a 2015 v6 accord with a 2.5L. Is it faster than the touring hybrid 2023?
I love the 10th generating, better typing and faster engine.
👏👏👏👏GREAT JOB ON THE COMMERCIAL..😊
I like both but the new interior is superior
ive always prefered the 2022 honda accord 2.0 sport way more thsn the new 2023 accord
My beast is the 8th Gen 2.0 Accord. Its responsive and great to drive around. Looking fwd to get the 2025 Hybrid
21 look like a dodge charger front grill and 2023 look like a ford Taurus,Honda hrv looks like a ford edge !
The 11th generation was engineered to meet Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. That's why higher trims come only with the hybrid.
It's spelled crowd.....the accord is a family car it doesn't need to be a race car.....if you want more than that, get an Acura Integra Type S.....
Best in class
I love my 2018 2.0 sport. I think Honda messed up with 2023. The interior is nice but that's where it stops for me
Flashy isnt always good and honestly ur nit picking if hard plastic points are an issue its a not lexus but yeah the 10th gen is way better especially with the manual and 2.0 T engine
"Bat out of heck"? Did I land on the children's channel by accident?
dad talk
Lol
Great comparison video, Guys. I am a first-time viewer.😊
11:34 what's the car in camouflage on the left
New one kinda looks like a chevy malibu
Chevy Malibu? 😢 Get real! I am intrigued at how many amateur auto design engineers there are out there.....obviously, working in some other occupational fields. The easiest job in the world is a critic!
If they took the exterior of the 2021 and the interior of the 2023 it be perfect imo
Is it still a 1.5 turbo?
10th, Gen. All the way!
Man, Combining the 2022 exterior looks/lines with the 2023 interior would be great. Not a fan of the 2023 exterior. Looks like a grandma's car. My 2 cents worth.
Oh my god! U r so right! I was about to say the same damn thang. 2021-2022 accord ❤
@@JohnDoe-hp5nnjust got the 2021 Ex-L they tried so hard to put me in the 2023 platypus NO SIR lol
The guy behind the wheel is NOT a car guy. Also these two are very ignorant about the 10th generation. Pit-i-ful.
They reviewed several evs so yeah, they are definitely not car guys and absolutely are ignorant
11th gen lowkey looks like a lincoln from the back
