Didn't one of the potions that Shaggy drank give him a woman's body but not a womanly face? So that would explain why the villain wore a woman's mask as the reporter and how he was able to pass as a female reporter in the first place.

My mother always wondered where the gang gets their money from, as they are never seen getting paid, after the case was closed. I looked into it, and here's what I found. Shaggy is a dealer; Fred and Daphney both come from rich families, and Velma mooches off the two of them.

Shaggy's from old money in Massachusetts, Daphne is new money from a bubble bath company her father started, and while Fred and Velma are never directly confirmed to come from money, they are shown having rich relatives. (Velma even inherits a castle in one movie). Scooby and Scrappy come from Southern money, as all of their relatives are rich, Southern, and Scooby's great grandfather was a Confederate soldier.
I think Shaggy eventually became a child of a rich family too

I love this movie more than any grown adult should. It's also my son's favorite movie of all time. I don't know what that says about us, but despite the flaws, this is a lot of fun. Great points and hilarious review! Also, you know your Doo! Finally, someone else knows what Chickenstein is supposed to look like!

I honestly love both live action Scooby-Doo movies lol. They're really fun, harmless flicks. Not perfect by any means, but I have a lot of nostalgia with them.
Plus the actors look the part they actually look like the mystery gang
There's a simple answer to the Black Knight/Chickenstein question. They did solve mysteries in A Pup Named Scooby Doo, but at that time they called themselves the Scooby Doo Detective Agency. The Black Knight was their first case after they rebranded themselves as Mystery Inc.
And then THAT was retconned by Scooby Doo Curse of the Lake Monster. But I believe that's a tale for another day.

Probably is, Scooby Doo and Guess Who is heading to the Boomerang App this year. Or it could be any of the myriad Direct-To-TV movies. He's the official voice actor for Shaggy now. Though there is a new theatrical movie coming in 2020.

This film is a serious guilty pleasure of mine.
I like the first one just fine, (although I probably enjoyed the deleted scenes more.)
But I enjoyed watching this film with my mom a lot as a kid, along with a lot of dumb comedies.
I watched Star Wars with my dad, westerns with my grandpa, Godzilla with my grandma, action films with my step dad, Disney films with my baby sister, video games with my step sister, and just listening to music with my twin brother.
Also, 11:24, this makes to much sense.

Something I always wondered about the live action Scooby films. Were they set in the same universe as the original 60's cartoon or were they set in their own universe where events similar to the cartoon's episodes happened?

I've come to realize that this movie takes many plot and thematic elements from the video game "Night of 100 Frights". Right down to the Masked Figure being a stand in for the Mastermind from that game.
This movie definitely felt more like proper tribute to Scooby-Doo instead of a parody

Hey Dr. Wolfula, I don't think you know this, but most of the monsters that appeared in this film weren't intended to be in this film, here is a rundown for the scrapped monsters, The Creeper (scrapped and replaced with the zombie), Redbeard (scrapped and replaced with Miner 49er), Phantom Shadows (scrapped and replaced with Skeleton Men), Ghost Clown (scrapped and replaced with Captain Cutler's Ghost), and Headless Horseman (scrapped and replaced with the Black Knight)

I work in news media and it's possible for an anchor to also be a field reporter and editor. Usually they'd be working in very small stations in the middle of nowhere which we in the trade refer to as "one man bands". They set up and breakdown their shots, edit the video at the studio and prepare to do the news behind the desk.
