The English Acoustic Collective released an album called Ghosts where this set comes from. The first tune is actually their own reworking of Hares Maggot (originally from Playford's Dancing Master) englishacousticcollective.bandcamp.com/releases
Hugh, the English have traditionally (well since the 19th C ) tended to ignore and belittle their own traditions and culture... anything foreign is of course wonderful... and that includes Irish , Scots and Welsh. What is interesting is that I used to meet foreign groups at festivals like Sidmouth and they would almost all say that they envied the English their great variety in dance and music. They often acknowledged a distant influence of English culture with gratitude.
Odlična skupina odličen nastop !!!!!!
matur Suksma😊

Wonderful!
Great stuff, lots of energy. A wonderful advert for English music, why can't we hear English
groups playing this stuff.
Just watched you guys playing in Ljubljana - you were fantastic!
When did he get his knighthood? A seriously enjoyable rendering!
Been listening to old Swarb.
BTW I would hardly call these traditional published as they were by the Playfords
Playford published them but he certainly didn't write them. Plenty of the tunes in The Dancing Master had been around for years.
