BUYERS BEWARE: I had the Whitestone for the Note10 Plus. The first install failed due to bubbles, they replaced it with the $9.99 processing fee (now it's $14.99). The second one was full of scratches after a year. Replaced again for $9.99. The third one chipped on the corners after 18 months. Can't be replaced because the model is discontinued. Lifetime warranty is not lifetime warranty.
That's not a life time guarantee, that's just a way to buy replacement screens without the kit. False advertisement if you ask me.
The ‘lifetime warranty’ they refer to if for the lifetime the phone is available from the manufacturer. Not how long you keep the phone, not how long a retailer still has the phone available for sale.
This is gonna scratch because it's still glass. Any dust in your pocket with a hardness level 6 or greater can scratch glass. If it chipped on the corners after 18 months that seems like a great deal. Everything that you're describing seems more like a you problem, not a problem with the product.
I had this protector on my 6 Pro - Was one of the best protectors I found! It was hanging on for life when I was pulling it off for the trade in. Really impressive stuff.
Most screen protectors are the same in terms of actual damage protection. Mrwhosetheboss did the comparison - 1$ glass shows the same result as a 40$ one. Only sapphire glass for 80$ did better
Its not about the toughness of the protection. The people want a perfectly fitting glas type screen protector. But due to the f*cking edge displays it is hard to find a good one.
Thanks, I just ordered it for my P7 PRO. Looking forward to using it, my phone is worth the price of a great screen protector, as it will be used for many years.
It's not cheap but I believe it's worth it, especially for the Pixel 7 Pro.
Used to have one on my Note 9. A small issue that I had was that the adhesive on the curved edges didn't adhere properly. No issues with the screen protector lifting off the screen on those curved edges, but you could see a "spider web" pattern on those edges due to air gaps forming in spots where the adhesive couldn't fully stick. It was only visible on a completely blacked out screen though.
A much bigger issue is that taking off the screen protector (for when you want to replace it after it cracks) is a pain in the ass. The adhesive is strong and when you try to peel it off it doesn't stay in one piece - or even a few pieces. You need to chip it off as the screen protector shatters into a microscopic dust. I had take off the screen protector over the trash can so that none of the glass fell on the floor, and I wore a mask to prevent any of the microscopic glass from being inhaled.
around how long did yours last before it cracked needed to be replaced?
Removing that screen protector must have damaged your screen. The anti fingerprint smudge coating (i.e. oleophobic coating) must have been damaged or worn off the screen after removal
I've had the whitestone dome in my pixel 6 pro for a while now. I honestly don't have any other options but I can hardly recommend it.
It chips very easily
I've read that several times, too. Seems very thin and flimsy.
its all good but how well do they come off when they are broken?
I got a pixel 6 pro recently and I've seen these for awhile now but scoffed at the high price. I can now say since I finally gave in I'll never use another brand of tempered glass. I tried 4 different tempered glass brands for the P6P before caving and getting the whitestone setup. Wish I would have just went with it in the first place.
This is the disadvantage of curved screens 😭 their screen protectors are never perfect🤦🏽♂️
3:53 wallpaper plz ☺️
Kinda glad I went for the Pixel 7 over the Pro. That curved edge fad has to die!
I bought a case for my Pixel 7 which came with a screen protector. Whilst I really like the inexpensive case the protector rendered the fingerprint reader useless. Please could you recommend some less expensive screen protectors that could be used instead? Not normally one for them but I love this phone so much I am wanting one that doesn't inhibit the fingerprint reader.
if it's not the first time you've put glass like this, the 5$ one is identical on aliexpress.
This is a good quality protector from Whitestone BUT it is NOT WORTH IT! I bought one for my new Pixel 7Pro and it is smaller than the screen of the phone. Difficult to position and install. Very complicated. Defective product and the company refuses to acknowledge the defect and wants to charge $15 to stand by its warranty.
DON'T BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. Defective and they waste your time!
To answer your question? Yes. No S. I think you f'ed up the camera cover part. Mine was a nightmare to put on. The tabs make no sense. It's like 5 pieces of crud. But to me, you didn't actually get the proper part on the phone, or you are supposed to pull off the part you showed overhanging on the video. You should disclaimer that. Anyone to leave bare metal is dumb. That housing scratches like mad. Lifetime warranty means S. The phone won't get updates after how many years?
I'm the world's worst fitter of Screen Protectors. I usually get them done professionally.
I did (on the 2nd attempt) perform a perfect install on my 6a of a JTech (2 pack) Glass Screen Protector which cost me £7-ish and came with a Guide Tool.
I'd be miffed, if I paid $40 for a Protector only to find that I messed it up. And, what a palaver!
I just ordered one of these for my Pixel 7. The screen protector I have on now protects my phone fine, but the fingerprint reader is incredibly unreliable with it. I'm hoping that since this one is Google certified to work, it'll be better. It's worth the asking price if I don't have to keep re-registering my fingerprint.
TL;;DR No, no it's not worth it. It's a gimmick you're paying 50 bucks for 5 bucks worth of junk. Good grief.
I got this on sale, with a discount, in installed payments. 4 payments of $6 USD over 2 months. Yes, it's worth it.
I just have a cheap curved glass screen protector and it works fine, even the fingerprint sensor worked while i was wearing nitrile gloves. Im not saying the whitestone one isnt better though
Imo if you spent $900 bucks, you shouldn't cheap out on screen protector. If not this atleast go for spigen or something
Why does this have a camera cutout? There does not need to be a camera cutout for the selfie camera, as it will work just as well through any clear glass screen protector. Having a cutout just adds a place for dust and lint to collect. The QULLOO glass screen protector is one of the few ones that has no selfie camera hole, comes in a 2-pack alongside two glass camera bar protectors for €8,99.
It does effect the camera a bit, if you care about the picture quality be being as close to naked as possible, you may want the cut out. I imagine, for most people that don't even bother cleaning their screen before taking pictures it won't matter. The one I have has no cutout and I do see a change in how it handles lens flares mainly. Flares for glaring light is more pronounced with the protector on, but otherwise still looks great in normal lighting conditions.
Why is it so hard to find a good screen protector fo the pixel 7? All of them have at least 40% or bad reviews. Can someone recommend me a reliable one?
Comes with a life time warranty but also comes as a pack of 2? Why would you need the 2nd one?
whitestone or rhinoshield any chance we can get a comparison as to which one offers more protection and case compatibility
When you use the phone do you ever find your finger rubbing up against the edge of the screen protector and if you do is that annoying?
Absolutely not worth it breaks to easily for such an expensive piece of glass.
Does your regular Pixel 7 overheating?
what about magic john?
How do you ensure the adhesive doesn’t go in the selfie camera?
I've had a Whitestone Dome on my 6 Pro since launch. Recently when 2 family members bought a Pixel 6 I installed WD on theirs too. It's pricey but the installation and fit are really making it worth it for me. They're all still perfect and scratch free, even after long term use. Let's hope we never need the lifetime warranty.
It wasn't available at launch, It was like a month later
A comparison to the similar-in-concept, but somewhat less expensive, IMBZBK tempered glass screen protector for the Pixel 7 Pro would be helpful. I found installation of the IMBZBK straightforward and, based on videos I've seen of the White Stone installation process, less prone to user error. Never having seen the White Stone in person, the main difference I can see in the products themselves is that the White Stone has a cut-out for the selfie camera and the IMBZBK does not. In limited photographic use thus far, I haven't found that an issue. Nor has it affected face unlock.
I really wish we could just get a non curved pro. I hate the curved screen, but the camera difference is huge between the pro and non pro.
I just bought the pro love the phone but absolutely agree about the curved edges
Was curious if anyone know if this screen protector would be compatible with the Urban Armour Gear (UAG) Scout Series case for the Pixel 7 Pro? I initially had a Zeelot Tempered glass protector on my phone and after installing the phone case, the case ate into the edges and cause permanent bubble.
Would anyone have experience with the same case but managed to find a tempered glass protector that is compatible and would not have this problem?
Ok, plz bear with me & be understanding/patient with me. I have the new Google Pixel 7 Pro which I got 2 days ago. This would be my 3rd Pixel since 2017 (Pixel 1 XL & Pixel 3 XL) So....the 2 physical problems I noticed right away are
One) touching, tapping, swiping on this screen absolutely feels plastic & nothing like gorilla glass. I mean, the 3 XL screen without a doubt felt & looked like glass. I've done a little research the last 2 days & have only seen a few articles stating this is normal & the way Google's gorilla glass is. How can it be explained? Is it possible the phone I purchased from a Verizon store is not genuine?
Two) The rattle that is obvious when shaking the phone coming from the camera area. Again, I've done some research & it was stated that this is completely normal due to the telephoto lens rocking around inside the housing. Apple, Samsung have the same issue but the loudest is the Pixel 7 Pro. Why would any phone maker release a phone that has this sound? There's absolutely no way there designers could have remedied this before release?
Does the glue get in your speaker?
That JeTech Amazon screen protector does not fit the P7, it's too small. I got it very early when there were no reviews, so wasted time applying it to find out what all the subsequent reviews say; it's too small. Otherwise it's nice glass.
I got a cheaper version as the white stone one, by imbzbk, was almost half the price at $35 shipped, and you get 3 of them. Looks just like the factory screen and has been working great. Fit is very good on my Pixel 7 pro. Only thing is they did not do a cutout for the camera, the glue and glass also covers the camera. It does not effect face unlock, and doesn't seem to effect the camera in most conditions, however I did notice that in strong lighting directly into the camera, lens flares/glares seem to be worse with the protector on. Other than that, I'm happy with it.
Did the glue get into your upper speaker grill?
@@Idontuseyoutube no the supplied foam strip does a good job of preventing that. It fits very snuggly. I say foam but it's a very dense material, not even sure if it's really foam.
I heard this requires a lot of clean up as it oozes out from under the screen protector. Thoughts?
I personally like the Whitestone curved screen protector. Price is now about $30 dollars thanks to competition.. But whitestone I think Has the best setup for this type of tech.
Second to none and I'm speaking from the 6 Pro. The thing I'll say is the liquid/adhesive smells like a chemical factory so I'll do it this year in my 7 Pro screen with 🧤.
How to order whitestone dome glass for Pixel 7 pro? In Amazon it's saying products wil be released on 31st October. Is there any other places where I can get it now
Never could get a spotless install when I attempted it on the Pixel 2XL. I have a plastic screen protector on my P7P, but I may give it another go when this screen protector needs to be replaced.
Grrr so jealous of your level desk
Lifetime warranty - but have to pay shipping, which can be just as much as the original cost
Pre-ordered... 35 quid is not bad for 2 considering its a £950 phone :)
The Pixel 7 has a curve at it's edges, where many screen protectors get a halo around the whole thing. I've not seen any other tempered glass protector that covers properly.
3:30 Which phone case is that?
I bought the same protector for my S9+ 5 Years ago and I must say these protectors last for life. Just now started to break and peel away. The instalation is finicky yes, but it is worth every peny IMO.
If you buy directly from their website, you save about 20-25%
Definitely worth it. Don't be cheap, especially if you got a 7 Pro. Yes you're a cheapo if you'll spend 1K on a phone, but not $50 on superior protection for the screen, and a tough protective case to surround it.
Protected my 6 pro just fine. It's a wise investment, the 7 pro is not cheap.
i think i've heard that the lifetime warranty (although true), is still pricey. I think it's $15 for "handling fee" and you get only one protector. I just pre-ordered a 2 pack for $31. So at the end of the day, you still come out of pocket quite a bit for this "lifetime warranty." It's not far off from just re-ordering and getting an entire kit for 2 protectors.
This helped decide on getting the Whitestone for my Pixel 7 Pro thanks!
Way too long.
So what decently priced one would you reccomend for the non curved 7?
They should pay us !!
Hey Damien, I've got the Pixel 7, i don't use a case on any of my phones as i'm quite good at taking care of my phones (so far). I rock a dbrands skin on the rear and i'm looking for a super thin screen protector as i like to place my phone face down. I purchased (then returned) an Amazon screen protector which was in my opinion way too thick and very noticeable. Based on this video, it looks like Dome Glass goes right to edge of the glass and almost unnoticeable from all angles. Can you or someone else with a Pixel 7 confirm that's the case? Really looking to keep the front looking as stock as possible. Cheers!
I'm happy with spigen tempered glass on my Pixel
SuperShieldz also has a lifetime guarantee and they're about $10 for a 3 pack. I have only used them with flat screens (including a Pixel 7), but they have never let me down
Mowei does it cheaper price and works as well. UV light too
Just use Skinomi
These are the best on any phone. Love it on my Samsung S22 Ultra
I use the whitestone glass on my pixel 6 pro and can say i had never a better glass. After 10 months on all side are correctly shielded, the colors on the display are always true and no problem with the fingerprint sensor and i had somy havy drops during this time. I started with the spigen foil, but i hate to touch it, the finger simply doesn't glide so well over the foil and the color reproduction is also affected.
As a pixel fan, i have the 7 pro at home and waiting actually for the whitestone dome glass availability on Amazon to save the high costs for delivery frombus to germany.
My Resume: For curved displays it is the best high class screen protection that i know. Installation isn't that easy, but it's worth it.
Stay away from this trash company they say that there's a lifetime warranty but nowhere does it say you have to pay for shipping. Would not have payed the premium if I knew this was the case. even have to pay shipping if the glass arrived broken
Think of it as like a deductible. Apple Care? Any program you pay for a repair.
@@user-wl7dt1uw2e Bro if you payed for a product and it arrived broken how is that my fault and why would I pay a deductible for their incompetence
@@kisan9189 I didn't read your comment closely enough.
I had my pixel 7 pro all of 5 days. I knocked it in my pocket and not the OLED has damage but not the glass. It is really really fragile underneath but it isn't something a screen protector will solve
I don't think I understand what you're saying
My question is, if it has a lifetime warranty why do they sell them in pairs, if they're that good why do you need two? I'd be happier if you could choose the 2 you want, my husband has a Pixel 6 and I a 7 Pro so to be able to choose that combo would make sense to me, but in most cases I'm sure having 2 is pointless!
Application issues
I had one for my pixel 3 for less than a month. I dropped it and it cracked the curved edge of the protector which let air get into the crack and under the whole edge. It looked really bad and it was like the first drop🤦🏽♂️
But surely that was better than cracking the screen which is what would have happened? Seems like the protector did its job?
Whitestone is the one to go when it cames to curved screen
I have it on my P6 Pro. Definitely worth it but a pain to put it on
how do you prevent dust buildup on the screen ? the instalation of the dome shield takes quite long, so surely there will be some dust on the screen or even worse the UV glue when you are finaly ready to install the glass
That is the biggest nightmare of any screen protection install. Just have the sticker at the ready. Check every single time during the install BEFORE you place the glass. It's stress. I would say I remove 10-20 pieces of lint or dust on average any time I do these. It's why I like to do this with new phone and remove boxes cover with a protection. You can't do that with these protectors unfortunately. I tried. The paper on the display gets stuck under the tabs. Must be removed. Just don't rub the top of the display with your finger when putting the tape over the top speaker.
For me the problem is removing these screen protectors. I had one on my 6 pro and I had to get a replacement because the USB port broke and when I went to remove this it was a nightmare, I had to literally scape it off with a razor blade. So I guess it's good if you're going to never take it off. I'm not going to put one on my 7 pro.
Why so hard to get off? Couldn't you wedge a business card under it?
These come off clean from anything I've ever seen.
I am holding out for the Whitestone Dome. I have it on my Pixel 6 Pro, coming up to 12 months, and it still looks, almost, good as new - it has not let me down! The only way Whitestone have let me down is not having the 7 Pro product ready on phone launch day.
It was ready for Pre-order on day 1. I'm waiting for it
Can you ut cover with this screen protector? I mean the protector don't rise or have problem when you put cover ?
@@NOOISYPANDA I never had a problem with my Spigen Tough Armor case
No. The answer, when the question involves whitestone dome, is always a resounding no. There are alternatives that are half the price. Whitestones are over-priced, and there are many options that involve the same process of glue and uv lights to dry and set a tempered glass screen protector that don't involve getting violated through the jeans.
In addition, the "lifetime warranty" they provide involves you buying a replacement for $20. On top of that, you have to take a picture of the cracked screen, so make sure not to throw it away or take it off before snapping a pic, otherwise, you won't get that replacement.
They also provide 1 screen for $50. Wtf is that?! One attempt at a process that sometimes doesn't go right because they don't provide a proper amount of glue, or because there is one speck of dust that lands on the screen because no one lives in a vacuum.
Long story short, don't waste your money. Just look for tempered glass screen protector on Amazon and you'll see a few options that won't rip you off like these crooks do.
Thank you.
Hey Damien. Along with this premium screen protector, there are some who wish to slap a premium case too.. like the Otterbox. But apparently the two don't go together because of size differences. Any refined opinion on this would be greatly helpful for those buying these 2 brands to protect the phone!! ... thanks
I'm also curious if the otterboxes will work with this protector. I have the hazel/gold 7Pro coming in, and ordered the whitestone protector. But i'd really like the blue/beige otterbox, so i'm hoping it would fit.
Yeah, my defender case rocks with this. Totally protected just the way I roll.
@@johntoups6338 Defender is perfect.
What does a "life-time warranty" actually mean? Does it mean they will ship another screen protector to the customer, or does it mean they will pay for the $200 Pixel screen replacement? 🙂 Also, how easy is it to remove the protector when the customer is ready to trade in the phone?
edit:
I checked their website. Their lifetime warranty is a joke. They only warranty the protector, not the device. The warranty is only good if they are still manufacturing the protector for the same model device and the user has to pay shipping and handling. So if they stop making the screen protector the next year, which I would expect they would do (why manufacturer a screen protector if the model is old), you are still out of luck. Joke's on the customer, it's not really lifetime but practical lifetime of a device if Whitedome still makes screenprotectors for that model a year or two from now.
In my experience with these protectors on curved devices (Pixel 6 Pro & S22 Ultra) if you drop your device and it lands on the curved edge of the display the screen protector will most likely chip and/or crack.
I've used other glass screen protectors on non curved screen devices and they've handled drops etc. with no issues. Maybe this is due to the nature of curved displays and/or Whitestone Dome protectors are perhaps thinner than other protectors.
So from my point of view it's hard to recommend for a curved device if you're prone to dropping your device, especially at that price point. Replacement warranty is nice to have, but annoying if everytime you drop you device you may have to replace it (in my case).
I've gone with a TPU style protector for my Pixel 7 Pro this time around, even though it doesn't have the same nice feel as a glass protector but at least I know it won't chip/crack. If the screen wasn't curved I probably would of ended up with a Spigen Glass. I've used them in the past and they've been good and a lot cheaper than a Whitestome Dome Glass.
I was able to order mine for my 7pro for about $35 with the discounts they are offering right now. Very well worth the money. I've been using a whitestone dome for the past 3 years now. Highly recommended for curved screens.
In the 13 years I've used smartphones, I've never broken one yet. Never understand how people can treat such an expensive item with so little care.
It's not always about not caring tbh, I have coordination issues, and especially did when I was younger due to my dyspraxia, so I used to drop stuff alot, saying that, the solution for me isn't a 50$ screen protector, it's a £12 case + a £6 glass screen protector
Totally get where you're coming from, but I was once like you. And then through no fault of my own, I accidentally broke my phone screen. Never, ever again would I go without a screen protector.
You don't need it 'til you need it.
This.
Same here man, I got my first Android phone in 2010, that was before tempered glass screen protectors were even a thing, I didn't even use a case on my phones from 2010-2018 and I've never broken a phone screen, never even came close, makes no sense how people always break their screens. Since getting the OG Pixel in 2018 I started using cases and I got the Pixel 7 now so a Spigen case and screen protector went on it right out of the box.
Can happen easily enough on construction sites.
My pixel 6 non pro white stone is incredible. After a year, it's got a couple of scratches, but has never even came close to cracking. The glass quality and clarity is incredible.
I've used amfilm tempered glass for a few years now. Dumped Whitestone and adopted amfilm. I like their installation better. Plus, they don't don't charge as much as Whitestone. Amfilm has a cylinder you place over the fingerprint scanner before you cure the glass. Works great!!
TPU screen protectors are fine for like 99% of the cases, you dont even use it with a s-pen like with samsung Note phones so I dont see much reason to want glass with all the added work.
Plastic screen protectors only prevent scratches whereas glass screen protectors will also give some protection against cracks and blunt force because the glass protector will shatter before the phone screen, displacing a lot of the force. Another point is that plastic screen protectors dont feel or sound nearly as good as glass.
@@9php the "film" protectors _can_ provide a little blunt force protection, but yeah not all that much
I've been a subscriber for a long time and over the last 6 months there's been a significant decline in production and writing content in these videos. Subject content is always good but the constant mis-spoke words or sentences that are never corrected gets tiresome and frankly makes the videos quite unnatural to follow. Also the constant over elaboration within every sentence is simply not needed. Maybe these are recorded in one take? In any case the quality of the overall video is really suffering in a market where your competitors are providing professional quality videos.
Anyway, I zoned out a couple minutes into this VERY long video about a screen protector, but it looks good.
Go watch those other videos then. You obviously haven't watched many of his videos. Theyr'e all the same. If you want flashy colors and voiceovers you're not gonna see it here.
