Yes Sir. Those old cartoons still make me laugh, and I'm sad that this generation and future generations will not get to exeprience some of these and sat morning cartoons.
I believe the saddest commentary here is how woefully butchered some or most of these classics of animation truly are. So much of the magic is found wanting when the original run-time of approximately 7 - 8 minutes per feature is reduced to half or less of the original run time. An with it goes any sense of continuity, plot, device timing, character development, etc. The constant comment of how racist the content is needs to be seen against the fact of when they were made. You cannot judge the content of material made 50 years ago or more against the conventions of today's society. It's like saying we cannot make a film today and hope it will be seen with the same conventions then as now, because it just ain't going to happen. For example, the over stereo-typed presentations of Asians as being skinny and buck-toothed, Germans black haired, stern, commanding and overbearing, Italians as weak kneed followers and demanding, etc. These failings are seen as being the normal when we look to demonize any and all aspects of a common foe; to keep him there and reviewed as still low and common long after the end of hostilities. I try to enjoy these cartoons even if in their butchered state as, I guess you could say, little is better than none, but how much richer, fuller and simply more fun would they be if fully restored.
This used to have me in hysterics as a child, watching it some 15 years on I'm still howling with laughter
