      Hi Sarena, thanks for your question. The dark coffee is bitter than the other one because without milk. But you can adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar. ;)

      We call it coffee phin filter. If you can’t find it in your area, paper filter can be a substitute.

    why does my filter drips very fast?

    • @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel
      @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel  3 года назад +1

      Try this: tap on the insert to even out the coffee then pour in a little of boiling water to bloom the coffee first. Hope it helps! :)

    • @elepfly
      @elepfly 3 года назад +1

      the filter drips fast or slow is due to the fineness of ground coffee. If the coffee is too coarse, the filter will drip very fast. To avoid this, after put your coffee into the filter, put the filter on a small plate, then pour a little bit of boiling water just enough to wet the coffee, then cover it with the lid, wait for 1-2 minutes for the coffee to absorb all the water, then again put the filter onto the glass and continue to make your coffee. If the coffee is too fine, then the filter drips very slow or does not drip at all, then you make the same step with the video without brewing it first. This problem usually happens because the fineness of coffee to be used to make espresso is different from one to do with the filter.

    I’m learning Vietnamese. I know milk coffee is cà phê sữa đá. How do you say the names of the other 3 coffees in Vietnamese? Cảm ơn!

    • @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel
      @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel  2 года назад +2

      It's so great to hear that you are learning Vietnamese. I hope these could help: 1.
      Black Coffee / Cà phê đen đá (kah-fey dehn dah) ; 2. Coffee Milk /Bạc xỉu (bac xiu); 3. Egg Coffee/ Cà phê trứng (kah-fey truhng)

    • @normalguy50
      @normalguy50 Год назад

      Not accurate. Đá is ice so it's coffee with milk and ice. So say Cà phê sữa. Cà phê đen: black coffee. Cà phê sữa trứng: coffee with milk and egg.

    • @normalguy50
      @normalguy50 Год назад

      Black coffee is cà phê đen not bạch xiủ. That is slang from the old Chinese word not vietnamese.

      You are right. We are in the South Vietnam with the hot weather all year round so we like to drink iced coffee but in the North, they love to drink hot coffee 😉

    It looks like you use cold water? Not hot water?

    • @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel
      @VanNguyenSimpleRecipeChannel  2 года назад

      I used hot water (~95C /203F).
      Bring the water to a rolling boil for 1 minute then take it off the heat and wait 30 seconds before pouring into the coffee phin.
