This mission has the most powerful set of cutscenes of ALL Ace Combats ever released so far. I remember having my eyes watered at the first time I played Sea of Chaos...and I remember finding myself in tears at the end of this one. The feeling just didn't subside becaus of the following in game scene of the other squadrons joining Razgriz, singing The Journey Begins before going into Sudentor. This game simply had a history ahead of it's time.

This game really does have some great memories when first playing it all those years ago. Seeing pilots and soldiers from opposite sides banding together to bring an end to a war filled with hatred and violence. Who would have imagined 9 years later (in the games calendar) that pilots that fought against each other would work together to stop those who want to prolong a pointless war to keep their power and also stop a powerful and emotionless opponent, and they would band together thanks to one ‘dumbass’.
There were a couple of times they did that. In one of the landing mission you can hear 2 soldiers were talking and one of them said "Hey I got something I need to tell you so don't get yourself killed okay." The entire mission he was asking what do you want to tell me. But the other guy wouldn't say. After you completed the mission you hear them on the radio chatter. Sounding annoyed the guy said alright we finished this mission what did you want to tell me. He tells him actually your wife wanted you to call her as soon as you can.............Dad. They didn't specify if she had the baby or found out she was pregnant. I know there were others but that one stuck out the most.
@@Lynn.knepper1280 At least in the US, Brigade Commander is usually a Colonel. As for knocking him out? We don’t know how he did that. Coulda punched him, coulda hit him with a blunt object, or choked him out. We can only assume.

I like to think that during the entirety of this war, ISAF was just sitting off to the side saying "Mmm, none of that looks or sounds like our problem. SOLG? Man, if only you guys had this war six years ago. We blew up something that could have dealt with that."
+Mobius 1 In fairness, I think ISAF is just paying back Osea for doing that to them. The First Usean Continental War happened because some right-wing extremists didn't want an alliance with Osea. It also contributed to the second because Fortress Intolerance was destroyed, and it might have alleviated some economic stress on Erusia if it had shot down more meteors. Both times, Osea didn't step in to help stop the war. Can't blame them, that might have caused a political shitstorm, and they were trying to be more pacifistic after the Belkan War, but still.
+ES21007 Here's a better one. Usea didn't give a shit of what has happening on the other side of the world. They basically were on a huge tech jump start with 20 to 30 years later leading to AC3 events. Let alone in 06 they just finished sweeping up the rest of their problems. It's highly likely there didn't want to deal with anybody else issues.
8:20 I became so happy when i played this game for the first time and saw that the Yukes and Oseans were finally getting along. Same thing when those 3 Yuke ships abandoned their fleet to fight with the Kestrel and Razgriz. This is an honest to God masterpiece of a game and i think it deserves more recognition.
This game is so special... it's one of those game that let you feel all the possible emotions. You feel your first flight emotion, your first "surprise" with the Scinfaxi, you feel the adrenaline when you destroy a lot of enemies, you feel the sadness to lose a buddy in battle, you feel the joy when the enemies become your friends... I mean, this game success where other fails: let you feel that YOU are the character inside the game.
The weird thing is, that the real life Germans could have done this to America and the Soviets. This game enlightens all those with a heart and can inspire peace.

(Abandoned orders to fight through enemy lines and evacuate Berlin civilians from the bombing and artillery barrage that leveled most of it The 'last battle' of WWII. The battle of Castle Itter. Which saw American soldiers, german soldiers, and french POWs fighting together against the SS in a defensive action holding for reinforcements, outnumbered and out gunned no less. So not only could they have, some of them DID

Santiago Moncada well of course, the sub launched missiles are an order of magnitude larger. But in the cut scene we hear "we can't hit them all, brace for impact!" which makes it seem like there are multiple missiles
Your flying is impeccable. I think I'm going to have to cheat a little, as there's too many obstacles in there and the resolution on my screen makes it difficult to see them, resulting in too many failed attempts from crashing. Hamilton's missles always seem to hit me too, despite multiple sources saying this should be a rare occurrence.
wherethetatosat im having similar issues. not so much with seeing the obstacles, but with Hamilton getting me, amd just, at those speeds, slightest mistake and im straight into the wall or whatever. such a pain. ac4s tunnel was much easier. haha
XxAlexandsrexX yeah, when i do he doesnt get me. but like i said, i make the slightest error at those speeds, I mean we are talking no less the 700mph for most of it, and its helloe wall
Back then when I had difficulties in the tunnel i started using only the R2 L2 buttons to navigate instead of using the analog stick, it made it much more easier. I hope this helps.

Man even after several years of playing this game on PS2 this mission is still the most insane. Easily the best mission ever. It was great flying through that tunnel and putting that traitor Hamilton in his place.

I know this is a year old post, but man. "most computers aren't able to handle PS2 emulators" bullshit at it's finest. PCSX2 can be run very easily on a lot of computers. you don't need a beast. just a semi decent graphics card.
Daniel S. It's not like nowadays computer aren't capable of running PCSX2, some games however occasionally have compatibility issues when being emulated to the point they're completely unplayable

Planes clipped through the ground and sea, while missiles and guns just couldn't damage targets. The lists received several updates and many games are now playable thanks to the work of so many developers and contributors.
I want a full Yuktobanian game just so we can have Oka Nieba as our permanent AWACS.
