Ace Combat 5/0 and the Razgriz myth had such a profound artistic and emotional impact on me as a kid 15 years ago and even more today. Trying to learn to sing this in Latin to make my brother proud. Among the few things we have bonded over, it is the Ace Combat series that is the most prominent and most recent. We're on two opposite side of the autistic spectrum, we seldom find things we both enjoy - he likes Cars, building functioning engines out of kennex and shonen anime, I prefer writing, dark fantasy anime and watching RUclips - and we both find it difficult to find something we both equally love together. Ace Combat has given us many opportunities to laugh, cry and cheer with its amazing visuals, beautiful yet confusing storyline and the god-teir soundtrack that still gives me goosebumps after listening to it on repeat for the past few months. What I'm trying to say is, thank you for the on screen lyrics. It's making my learning journey just that bit easier.
This game just has the soul as amazing person mention "Journey Home" deepest story and I feel the emotion of MC with their squadron trying to became hero, whether lives or not
it's fun to replay Ace Combat 5 and spot all of the instances of the razgriz motif. Like how it's in the song in the first cutscene with the nuggets getting shot down, and in the one where Bartlett first contacts you after being missing for months.
Yo this brings back so many memories of when my dad bought me a PS2 for my 12th birthday with all 3 of the AC games it had and we finished them all in one sitting (this was in the middle of the summer holidays) we were just so amazed at the gameplay and story, after that those games kinda became really important to me, when covid is done I’m gonna find my old PlayStation and We’re gonna do it again
Seriously. My Dad bought me AC04 in Seattle one year, and I got AC5 at Christmas. Unfortunately, AC5 was too hard for my young self, so it took me another decade to come back and finish it. That’s when I made this video.
The first game I ever played was the unsung war. I still think about the day I snuck into my brothers room when I was around 4 or 5 and played it for the first time. I never stopped playing it 14 years later. I loved this game. I couldn’t read, right, or spell but I could name every fighter, bomber, and helicopter in the United States military. This game made me want to join the navy as an aerospace engineer and become a pilot. Crazy how I got my dream from a PS2 game released in 2004
I like to see these stories. Project Ace can be proud, im sure they created lot of vocation of pilots, engineers, technicians, mechanic and so on. (I'm part of it)
stumbled on this today. This first 3 minutes perfectly captures how so many of us long for a proper remaster of the trifecta Ace titles. 4, 5, 0. It was hard but I managed to use an emulator and watched a how to vid here on making ZERO appear HD. It worked better than I expected.
Bro i wish i could give you more than one like. This has a now grown man shedding a few tears. I love this series so much. Thank you for creating this amazing video!
Ace Combat 5 was the definitive game for me. I played 4 first and loved it but there was just something about it that makes me prefer 5 instead as the best. 7 was a great reintroduction, gave me a lot of the same feelings and nostalgia as 4 and 5 but I still hold 5 as my number one.
6:49, "Razgriz" is my absolute favorite. Esp part of the cutscene where the birds are flying past Charlie (the dog, I think his name is Charlie), at the defunct Sand Island base :) HAHAHA! YES!
Holy fuck! I can't believe there are people out there who got this deep into games just like me. I always thought I was stupid for getting so into the ace combat world. For crying when Chopper was shot down over November city. Or when the Yuktobanian captains defected to protect President Nikanor and join the Kestrel. To skies unknown guys.
I played through with a flight stick. First game I did that with, so I wasn't that great at using the controls. I crashed in dumb ways so many times, trying to acclimate to the sensitivity. When Chopper died, I flew into the deepest rage of my life. I perfectly shot down everything, flawlessly flying through everything without any conscious thought. I was going to break everything and nothing was going to stop me.
The fondest dream of any ace is to fly peaceful, mended skies. Skies no longer in need of heroes. Salute those who give us such skies. Salute those who keep such skies. Their duty may be unsung, but the smiles of the people who get to live in peace are the greatest reward any of us can ask for.
Chills! One of only two games that brought tears of joy as a kid. I still love this game and enjoy how devoted fans of this game and to the series are. I must play this again... I'll start with 4 as Mobius 1 first.
Christ, I can help but reminisce on the past when hearing this gem, quite literally my childhood in audio form. Now I live trough greatly troubled times in my life and this gives me great comfort even if I’m down in the mud. Thank you Project Aces.
Yesterday, 13 years ago, the Ghosts of Razgriz ended the war, destroyed the weapon of mass destruction, shot down the evil aces and gave peace to the world. o7
still crazy to think this game was one of the first times I noticed Matthew Mercer, the game is still my favorite, I go back to it at least twice a year.
We flew against the Belkans. We flew against the Russians. We flew against the Erusians. We flew against the drones. To skies unknown my fellow aces. To skies unknown
I have loved the series since the beginning, yet there is no defining moment so beautiful as coming together to stop the fires of war on the winds of hope. Rest in peace Chopper, Wardog will not falter.
Why am I just now finding this gem?? NAMCO really should remaster this PS Could you please share the Razgriz Minimalist Logo? Was looking for this to use as my wallpaper. Thanks!
I think you're correct. In most games, the theme is the same: A previously malevolent force rises to meet a greater evil, becoming immortalized as a hero in its final moments.
This is a very good piece, but I feel like it has the ability to be enhanced further. Said enhancements would be the transitions, some not being the smoothest. Rather than that, wonderful job.
Zero at 9:55 (identical but with a little different verse order than unsung war at 11:00): Cum historia mutat valde Razgriz revelat ipsum: Primum daemon scelestus est. Gloria mutat valde Razgriz revelat ipsum: Sua daemon fundet mortem Gloria mutat valde Razgriz revelat ipsum: Moritur (Cum somnus finit) Razgriz surget iterum: Magnus Magnus heros est.
I remember when this game came out I was riveted to the story following wardog squadron..and then Razgriz..it felt surreal when ace combat 7 came out with the razgriz f-14..I felt like I was reunited with an old friend, the stories my plane could tell if it could talk. From st hewletts port and blasting off the kestrel to the razgriz straights with nagasei and now I’m taking on erusea

not only my favorite Ace combat, but probably one of the greatest games i've ever played. I wish i had gotten into it when I was a kid, but i'm glad that i've played through it now
Tears, indeed. Man, what a theme!
Good to know that I'm not alone, in admitting to tears & emotion, every time I heard this song. Now that I see the lyrics..., even more so! (Also, it makes me think of the character "Guts", from the anime', "Berserk". Go figure! 😉,😏)
This supposed to be a Arcade shooter! Not pull on one's emotional strings! haha
@@xamnoir Bro....you have no idea. This Game's story (and score with it) even Now...EVEN NOW, to this day has not been removed from first in my heart. In fact, it rivals most of my (personally) top rated movies...because this was like a movie in which I was not only the star...but the hero!
@@GuildofThunder l know, l finished AC5 5-6 times myself, ALWAYS tearing up by Chopper's death AND the sinking of the Kestrel!
@@xamnoir i played all the way through (on Very Easy of course) my very first time. BOTH of those scenes made me openly sob.
This gets so emotional, it's a videogame but also part of our childhood, never try to please mass audiences ace combat, stay perfect how you are.
This is one of the best manmade tributes I've heard in a while.I loved playing this game. It was such a rollercoaster of emotions. This game will forever remain in my heart as one of the greatest stories ever told.

I’m glad you enjoy it! It’s definitely a powerful game, and I’m always amazed to see comments, a couple years after I posted this video. Godspeed!

The game that changed my life, rest in peace captain Davenport, you have been a great comrade
I just finished this game again recently. You guys should play it again. It holds up. Don't leave the things that make you happiest to childhood.
I intend to very soon , I have a 10 year old daughter whom i think will enjoy this game also.
I just wish they would remaster Zero.
Join me in saluting: captain Davenport. Damn this game was too much, NAMCO should remaster it
Razgriz 3
Yeah, remaster for AC5 would be great!
They need to make a collection like they did with halos master chief collection. Need the Ace combat series collection. Call it the Aces Pack lol.
They did if u pre ordered acecombat 7 for the ps4
@@Beaverstix88 Honestly only really need 5 and Zero and call it the Razgriz Pack. But I wouldn't complain to play the other games...especially 1 and 2 with modern graphics. But they would really need to tweak it to keep the plotlines consistent as to not confuse newcomers.
This is absolutely amazing, thanks!
The First Razgriz That brings Death and Destruction to the land is Cipher from Zero and when Razgriz returns from its slumber and becomes a hero it is Blaze and the other members of the team from 5

All my life, I was a shut-in due to a poor childhood. At 31 years old, I finally started working out. To improve myself. This song is what motivates me. I want to be someone who could make Chopper proud.
So thank you...
Buddy.
Damn I was 2 years late to find this clip, great compilation so much dedication on editing this work, great mate!
Bring all our memory about this epic game.

This brought back so many memories. Tears overflowing, what wonderful times those were. o7
Something about orchestral music that conveys emotions so well
This right here is a masterful combination representing the spirit of Razgriz. Epic, tragic, apocalyptic and heroic tunes combined into the definitive identity of what makes the ace combat games memorable.
I will keep this series forever in a special place in my heart, remembering the countless times that I fought against the Belkans to keep their machinations at bay as a child.
I hope for the very best for Project Aces and a worthy continuation to Ace Combat after AC 7 became the best selling entry in the series.
Ace Combat is one of the few game series I can truly mark as a work of art.
From a nugget to an Ace, it's been almost a year since first playing Ace Combat. Thank you for flying.
Man i do a full play through at least once a year, just to remember the joy, the sadness, and the love and family of the wardog squadron. o7 to all the fellow Wardogs/Razgriz that flew with me on those fateful missions from around the globe. We all flew together, we just couldnt see each other.
tKestrel, signing out for now. May the Razgriz live on in our hearts forever!
This is the best OST ever made, when i played that last mission for the first time and heard it, while trying to Stop the SOLG, i was shaking from the strong emotions, crying and smiling at same time, i feel so lucky and priviledged to play it ❤️ Ace Combat Forever ❤️
When a EPIC theme song, LITERALLY brings tears to my eyes, every time I listen(& now 'get' the lyrics).
5:19-5:56 omg that melody is so beautiful.. I actually want this to be played at my funeral when/if it comes
Ace Combat 5/0 and the Razgriz myth had such a profound artistic and emotional impact on me as a kid 15 years ago and even more today. This video legit made me tear up and got me out of a bad spot today. Salute brother, it feels a little less lonely out there knowing others had such strong bonds to this incredible series and piece.
(Salutes) To all the Aces who are no longer with us. We hope your flying somewhere peacefully.
First game was shattered skies
Followed by unsung war
Ace combat was my childhood on the ps2
04 will always be my favorite
In this moment of my life that i'm going to begin my life as a plane pilot soon✈️:
I'll never forget the day when all my story with Ace Combat began with Zero (November 4, 2019), all this Aces, songs, stories and incredible planes inspired me to chase the dream to be a pilot one day and now the dream it's going to be real☁️
I need to say Thank You to Project Aces for create this EPIC franchise that changed my entire life and i hope to play with my sons in the future🎮
Greetings from Panama, from the new Ace that will be born from the ashes soon and when i reach the sky i will honour all Aces🇵🇦🔥
This game just has the soul as amazing person mention "Journey Home" deepest story and I feel the emotion of MC with their squadron trying to became hero, whether lives or not
From Shattered Skies, to the Unsung War, to restoring the Round Table and skies unknown, we salute Aces young and old. Pleasure flying with everyone.
it's fun to replay Ace Combat 5 and spot all of the instances of the razgriz motif. Like how it's in the song in the first cutscene with the nuggets getting shot down, and in the one where Bartlett first contacts you after being missing for months.
I never played an Ace Combat Game (until the day of this comment), but damm this comment section is so wholesome... What an amazing comunity...
(I'm part of it)
The legends always will come back to hear this
stumbled on this today.
This first 3 minutes perfectly captures how so many of us long for a proper remaster of the trifecta Ace titles. 4, 5, 0.
It was hard but I managed to use an emulator and watched a how to vid here on making ZERO appear HD. It worked better than I expected.
i don't shed tears often, but i did so listening to this.
Bro i wish i could give you more than one like. This has a now grown man shedding a few tears. I love this series so much. Thank you for creating this amazing video!
Even though you missed two songs, this is amazing, great work man, love it
OMFG, I'm crying hearing this. Never forget The Unsung War, never forget chopper.
also, that transition to Zero fucking hit like a brick and i love it
Yeah holy fuck its so good.
Gets deep when you put yourself into the gameplay it becomes real to each player in their way
6:49, "Razgriz" is my absolute favorite.
What's endless in flight my friend.
I was going to break everything and nothing was going to stop me.
that intro made me feel like i was watching some kinda ace combat movie from the 90s
epic.
Never too late to find a mix like this.
Fly on, Aces.
The range of emotions i went thought listening to this track..
Chill, this so beautiful :'), My favourite game on PS2 and I still have the PS2 and the game and it still working :D
3 Years since u posted and damn I still loved to listening to this.
Yesterday, 13 years ago, the Ghosts of Razgriz ended the war, destroyed the weapon of mass destruction, shot down the evil aces and gave peace to the world. o7

The chills coming from this…
These Ace Combat's themes never get old
Archer:Captain!
Swordsman:Blaze!
Chopper:Captain Blaze!
Edge:Blaze!
Blaze:Yes.
I haven't played either game (yet) but this theme is stuck in repeat in my head. I've only played 7, so I think it's time™ to try.

The tears won't stop, what have you done?
This is one of the songs that hit's me in the feels
still crazy to think this game was one of the first times I noticed Matthew Mercer, the game is still my favorite, I go back to it at least twice a year.
the saddest moment in all of ace combat is definaly here in ace combat 5 when you lose your wingman chopper.. rip chopper the unofficial razgriz 5
Good job man

Love this song and love this game. Good Luck in your career, bro
We flew against the Belkans. We flew against the Russians. We flew against the Erusians. We flew against the drones. To skies unknown my fellow aces. To skies unknown

2024, God knows how long since I've played this game and I still love it (literally, I can't remember when I first played it).
I diddnt know what this game was at first when my dad got me it but when i beat it i saw how much of a masterpiece it was.
I’ve been trying to memorize the Razgriz lyrics, and this helps a lot, so thanks
Oh yeah man, they’re hard to understand otherwise, right? My pleasure
I have loved the series since the beginning, yet there is no defining moment so beautiful as coming together to stop the fires of war on the winds of hope. Rest in peace Chopper, Wardog will not falter.
Except maybe Megalithe
Why am I just now finding this gem??
NAMCO really should remaster this
PS Could you please share the Razgriz Minimalist Logo? Was looking for this to use as my wallpaper. Thanks!
Sorry for the incredibly late reply - I really can’t find it anymore, and I no longer have the computer that had it.
You can screenshot it in fullscreen
That was awesome. Thanks.
beautiful 🥺
Damnit, Davenport..... My 2nd game character who made me pause the game and recycle my feeling before moving on with the game....
THIS IS AMAZING!!! BETTER THAN ORIGINAL... NEED MORE VIEWS😭
I think you're correct. In most games, the theme is the same: A previously malevolent force rises to meet a greater evil, becoming immortalized as a hero in its final moments.
If this doesn't play at my funeral...
I ain't dying.
This is a very good piece, but I feel like it has the ability to be enhanced further. Said enhancements would be the transitions, some not being the smoothest. Rather than that, wonderful job.
Agreed! And well said. Thank you.
Zero at 9:55 (identical but with a little different verse order than unsung war at 11:00):
Cum historia mutat valde
Razgriz revelat ipsum:
Primum daemon scelestus est.
Gloria mutat valde
Razgriz revelat ipsum:
Sua daemon fundet mortem
Gloria mutat valde
Razgriz revelat ipsum:
Moritur (Cum somnus finit)
Razgriz surget iterum:

Magnus heros est.
here we stand, pilots after a successfull mission , we won in our lives, and in battle against belka
You missed President Harling and Hope for Freedom.
Friendly Fire from AC7 too, but that was released after the video.
最後の曲が誰からも謳われる事のない戦いをしてきたラーズグリーズを褒め称える曲なの良いよね
Gracias por esta preciosa joya 🛩️
I remember when this game came out I was riveted to the story following wardog squadron..and then Razgriz..it felt surreal when ace combat 7 came out with the razgriz f-14..I felt like I was reunited with an old friend, the stories my plane could tell if it could talk. From st hewletts port and blasting off the kestrel to the razgriz straights with nagasei and now I’m taking on erusea
Still brings a tear to my eye
