The Boston Celtics Are Weird!

  • The Boston Celtics have been a team that I have a love/hate relationship with as they have been a team that has constantly been in contention for a Championship in the last 5 years. Since the rise of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown since 2020 they have both become some of the best players in the league with Tatum being a player that is in talks for being a Top 5 player. But at the same time after all the praise I just gave this team, they are also one of if not the most weird team in the league.

    As a Die Hard Cs fan, Your 3 things we need to work on are spot on. These are the 3 things that will 100% determine if we win a championship. They are much better at these things then they where last year, no doubt about it. I think this is attributed to derrick white and Drue just making very good decisions with the ball. Only thing I want to see JT do is not settle for 3s immediately after getting the ball. Drive, pass, make the opposing team work on defense and then relocate for a wide open 3. Too often JT is thinking about gettings his stats and 3s are the fastest way to do that. I am hopeful they figure it out because a loss this year in the playoffs will be heartbreaking.

    Good video. Bringing up a singular game in the '22 Finals to support the 3PT argument when it was a completely different coach and roster is... interesting 😂 as well as the point that the Celtics are "0 for 6" in championship contention as if this current iteration of Boston has always been contending (JT wasn't even a serious #1 option for his first two seasons). But it's all good, you made some sound arguments throughout.

    But Tatum is 25/26. People expect way too much from this young man. He led a team to the finals at what 23. What age did Jordan, lebron, dirk win their first chip?

    Have u been watching my boy? Tatum brown and porzingis have all been attacking the basket. Porzingis is one of the most efficient interior scorers in the league. The only take I agree with is the Tatum one

    Tatum is not a strong leader of a team. Brown feels how Tatum is feeling. Watching the OKC game they were looking for leadership and only White and Porzingis showed up.

    You realize they will lose some games this season, right? 😂 Criticizing them for “almost losing” a game is weird especially when they didn’t have JB and Detroit were fighting for their lives. Valid points otherwise.

    I pretty much agree with everything except most of the JT take. I don’t think he’s top 5, and probably not top 10. More like top 15-20. I don’t mind his drop off in points and shot attempts this year because as he said he is trying to play championship basketball. Look at the nuggets, they have unmatched ball movement and accuracy. So I think he’s trying to focus less on “I’m supposed to score this much” and more on “we need to win a ring” we all know JT is capable of averaging 30 a game, what we don’t know is if he’s capable of winning a chip.
    JTs biggest problem in my opinion is his choking at the biggest moments. As the season winds down and starts getting closer to the chip, it seems like his decision making and efficiency decline as the moments get more tense. So I think his focus this season was finding ways to make the smart play even without the ball in his hands. He has the ball less now, so just cus he’s averaging less I don’t look at it as a decline in performance cus I know he’s still capable of it. I like he’s been hustling harder on defense and doing a lot more little things now. I think he’s becoming better, but I won’t know for sure until we see him in those big moments again.

      Don't buy into that narrative. He's went to more ECF and won more playoff games than most of the stars and even superstars in the league and he's just 25. Lebron won his at 27. Jordan at 28. Does that mean they weren't capable players before they win a chip?

    • @sandwichsquad74
      @sandwichsquad74 5 месяцев назад

      @@kimtoncoleman8934 that’s a long list bro but just think, he’s still not better than the OGs like Lebron and steph. AD, PG13, Kawhi, jokic, embiid, Giannis, SGA, KD, Luka, HIMothy Butler, etc. that’s all just off top, if I wasn’t too lazy to pull up a list I’d remember more I’m forgetting. Players like Fox and Haliburton are right on his ass too.

    • @sandwichsquad74

      @@gazelemcadizal7774 good point, but when have lebron and MJ played bad playoff or finals series? Lebron choked one series in his MIA heat days and Jordan got swept once in his younger days, but other than that they always played great in big moments. Like even tho luka has lost and didn’t even make playoffs last year, I can’t question him cus each time them lights come on he does the same thing if not more.
