  • ZALA has shown ongoing efforts to enhance the Lancet drone, as seen in the introduction of upgraded Lancet-3M UAVs, showcasing larger payloads, increased endurance, and transitioned X wings for enhanced aerodynamic properties. Following the undeniable success of the Lancet drone, the ZALA Aero Group is actively engaged in developing and testing a novel variant named the "Product-53." This new drone can be remotely launched from a Multiple-Launch System, such as a quad-packed 4x4 launcher, and boasts a distinctive capability to communicate with other drones, enabling coordinated "Drone Swarm Tactics" to target specific objectives. Alexander Zakharov, the visionary behind the Lancet series, enthusiastically shared updates on the progress of the new variant, mentioning that two hundred thousand units are already prepared, with an additional million in the pipeline.

Russia is not using these drones because of having lost attack helicopters, but because the drones are cheaper, faster to manufacture & are unmanned, which reduces potential Russian casualties considerably. They are also much harder to spot & shoot down.

Russian helicopter anti-tank missle Vihr has range of 8 km because a helicopter must see a target and mark it with laser beam. Lancet 3 has rage of 40-70 km. Russia has lost relatively few attack helicopters in Ukraine. In fact the Ka-52 is operating over Zaporizhzhia virtually unchallenged. And, the cost of a Lancet drone was never US$35,000. It's original cost was likely around US$20,000, but its price has plummeted as Russia has significantly scaled up production in spite of improvements -- i.e., the Lancet 3: extended range and larger explosive charge. In fact virtually all Russian weapon systems have experienced a sizeable drop in unit cost production as Russia's defence industrial complex has ramped up production right across the board.

I prepose a swift, orderly move away from caling weapons like these kamikaze drones. That epithet has a particular context as a crewed weapon in the Pacfic in WWII. Weapons like the Lancet are better called drone munitions. There are many other possibilities: Uncrewed Guided Weapons; Flying self-destructing Drone Munition, uncrewed combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), etc.

At 2020 Turkey was the most experienced on drone technology but it was strike drone that has weakness as much as small rotor plane. switch blade was good but that thing purpose only to targeted light vehicle and foot soldier mainly consist of small fragmentation explosives.. but Lancet basically was flying TOW missile on drone platform

If "Turkey's technology comes from nato" then why do NATO countries like Poland buy from Turkiye? And why do other NATO countries don't manufacture them? Do you have any clue of how many Chinese and Turkish electronics is within the drones and that Aselsan makes the cameras because "NATO Ally" Canada sanctioned exports of the previous Canadian camera producer?. You made yourself just laughable.
