thankyou so much . i have been waiting for stuff like this to come along . i was born in Coventry 53 years ago and my late parents used to take me and my big Sister to the Cov Carnival . i remember one year we sat in the G.P.O Telephones office up on Trinity Street , where my late Father worked as a salesman and watched the prosession going past . i no longer live in Coventry , as we moved across to Leicester in the Autumn of 1968 as my late Father was transferred here to take up a managerial post , at the then G.P.O over here in Leicester . but we still always came back to come and see the carnival . very happy days and fun times . sadly they don't have this now :-(
I'm about to turn 55. I remember the black balloons with fluffy stuff stuck on as hair on a head. and the bows and arrows you could buy at the fair in the memorial park.
I was there in 1965. I was 6 years old and stood and watched the carnival with my Dad. Wonderful times!

All of this English culture has been lost forever. Once those that remember it die, no-one will believe it ever existed.
