      @@ChristopherFumerola it doesn’t matter if the VA is the same as long as it is square’s intent to have Gi Nittak as the ‘character’ to be voicing over the 2015 trailer. If Square’s intent was to portray Gi Nittak as the voice of the 2015 trailer, and vice versa (they wanted the cast a similar voice to portray Gi Nittak in Rebirth as the 2015 trailer narrator), then the point still remains.

      @@FinalFanTV TheSteelers comment is correct, the VA for the 2015 Remake Trailer was David Lodge. I only remember this because back in 2015, quite a few people thought the Trailer VA could be George Newbern (Sephiroth's Advent Children VA), but it didn't sound like him. So someone looked into it and found out it was Lodge.
      He also was the voice for the FFXIV: Opening Movie in 2013. (though for that one he was doing a British accent.)
      Hearing them side by side in your video though... they sound nearly identical. It's possible that they may have wanted to cast Lodge for that part, but maybe he wasn't available. Who knows. The actor they used sounds incredibly similar to that 2015 trailer voice.

      maybe that's why Cloud can see the doomed sky while his friends cant? At the very end of the game with the movie level cutscene? Cloud tells Barret and the others "Don't look up." because he can see the tear in the sky. His friends can't, but that might be because Jenova and Sephiroth are still in Cloud's head messing with him, or he can see the rip because of what he just went through regarding Aerith? I thought about something. In the original game, in the Whirlwind Maze, you come across a moment after fighting Jenova Death. Cloud gives The Black Materia to a Party Member before heading further. Now I dont know what determines who gets it, but usually Red XIII gets it. He then brings it to Cloud, then Cloud gives it to Sephiroth. Now if we looks at Rebirth Red XIII making that promise to the GI, then perhaps in the 3rd part he will by default give it to Cloud and Cloud will do the same as before. Hence Red XIII will fulfill his promise to the GI. Yet he might request the GI to be the center of the Meteor Fall for one their deaths, two to stop Meteor with Holy and the Lifestream a moment later. Everyone wins in that case.

    I Love the internet.
    I was flowing in a similar direction in my theorizing. I even made an observation that the "Edge of Creation" that Sephiroth pulls you into in Remake, is a visualization of the inner working of the planet. Sephiroth looks at the RAINBOWY nebula in the sky and says "Our world will be part of it one day." While you are there, opposite to it, you see a red nebula, separated opposite and far away from the rainbowy one. Given that there's a lot of red spirit energy in appearance and design in the Gi area, and with their inability to join the lifestream, I theorized the red nebula was plausibly "Gi Limbo."
    (also it kinda looks like a silhouette of Jenova in the red cloud)
    There were ideas thinking it was a Sephiroth vs Aerith, LS White vs LS Black thing, but the Black lifestream and whispers are consistently a different color from the red color shown here. I feel like the "Edge of Creation" is stand in for the Black Lifestream as it is also more pronounced and more dark and aetherial in the skybox in Rebirth once you go there.
    /theory not fact

    • @poorpinoyvlogs
      @poorpinoyvlogs 3 месяца назад +11

      The Gi origins were somewhat explained during the party's traversal to the dungeon after reaching Seto's statue. Gi Nattak had a voiceover that is easy to miss since you are fighting the Gi spawns at the same time. Apparently they are from another world that had been destroyed, but a few of their number survived and were able to reach FF7's planet. Since we kinda know that Jenova's goal is to jump planet to planet, its possible they might have been former victims of Jenova. But its all wonderful speculation! Tons to think about until the next game.

    Well, Jenova came to Gaia on a Meteor. So the Stir might be connected to that. Something like the materia is useable when it stirs. Maybe the Black Materia was used in the past before. It could been the Cetra after they stole it, bringing the Extinction upon themselves and Jenova to Gaia. It could have been an accident leading into a tragedy. Now with the black materia stirring again, a second meteor might not only bring destruction but the arrival of a second jenova. In the original that second meteor would be stopped by Holy, but if Sephiroth succeeds with his plan, who knows what woudl happen.

    Maybe it’s simply that the Black Materia summons a random meteor from somewhere in space. We know from Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus that Jenova’s feeding cycle is she feeds on the life energy of a planet, when that planet’s energy is used up it explodes, Jenova grabs onto one of the larger chunks and rides it to its next victim. The Gi may have just randomly grabbed the one she was riding on when they used Meteor.

    • @asaffin1

      It couldn't just be a random meteor, because the odds of it being a meteor that is A) big enough to destroy the planet and B) close enough for it to not take millions or billions of years to arrive are, for lack of a better word, astronomical. In fact, in all likelihood, the sun would die and take the planet with it before the meteor's arrival.

      @@kurisu7885 The existence of magic doesn't preclude the laws of physics. Magic is the exception, and exceptions prove the rules. Magic doesn't preclude the laws of physics. The laws don't necessarily need to be 1:1 with the real world, but unless a particular aspect is specifically shown to differ, then it only makes sense to assume it doesn't. For example, gravity clearly exists in FF7. So does time. And no aspect of the game suggests that the composition of the solar system or broader universe is any different to the real world. So if you're going to assume that spacetime can just be completely countermanded by magic, then the implication is rather severe: nothing then can stop even more ludicrous usage of magic to do things like Cloud traveling back in time to kill Hojo and Gast before they can create Sephiroth, and you have to start explaining why things like that don't happen in order to justify your previous theories. It's an endless vortex of contrivance.

    If Aerith's role in Part 3 is her actually being Jenova and manipulating Cloud...That is some dark shit, and extremely uncomfortable. They are going to have to have it to where the Real Aerith can combat that and breakthrough to Cloud in some way

      I think Cloud is actually seeing the multiverse via Sephiroth giving Cloud “his blessing”. He’s in denial about truth dying because he saw a timeline he saved her in, mixed with it seeing her spirit, and defeating Sephiroth with her, and his broken psyche.

    I'm of the opinion that the "original" calamity from the sky wasn't Jenova exactly but a meteor. But not just any meteor. Gi Nattak talks about the destruction of their world and how some planets "consume" (for lack of better terms) other planets. Just like in other Final Fantasys, Gaia is depicted as a blue planet, but Terra is a red dying planet. A dead planet full of grief and sorrow subsumed by Gaia. I think the Goddess Minerva attempts to purify this malignancy but unfortunately becomes corrupted and is transformed into the physical manifestation of Jenova that we see in Nibelheim/Shinra HQ. With it's new found memory altering powers (because the lifestream is just memories and the Cetra could harvest and cultivate memories) Jenova lays waste to the Cetra. Jenova is not a person or even a thing but a concept. Like Cloud of Darkness from FF3. The Gi now stranded on Gaia with no way to return to the cosmic stream find a way to crystalize THEIR memories into the ultimate summon materia. They wish to summon Terra from oblivion to attempt to shatter the vessel that holds their stream hostage. Much like Aerith has to have ALL of her vessels destroyed across the errant worlds so her mind and soul can be returned to Gaia. It's how the Cetra defeated Jenova. Fragments scattered through world born of false hope but kept in check by fate. The whispers are essentially jailers or prison guards and that's why the center of Harbinger glowed purple. Just like at the end of OG where holy is held in place by a red jail kept in place by Sephiroth's version of a Harbinger.

      Btw, did you notice that the black materia is double-layered, for lack of a better word? Like, a smaller sphere nested within a bigger sphere. If we assume that's a metaphor for planets, then it's as if the Gis are living on the surface of the inner sphere, while everyone else are living on the surface of the outer one. Just a quick thought, lol

    The Narrator Voice from 2015 is David Lodge. The voice of Gi Nattak is Bruce Thomas. But even with that, the delivery and cadence is exactly the same to the point where I still believe it's Gi Nattak talking in the 2015 trailer. So many new voice actors came about specifically for the remake trilogy that weren't original VAs. So I treat the Gi Nattak voice like Uncle Iroh when Greg Baldwin replaced Maki after his passing.
    Great video by the way!

Look how she doesn't show any compassion to Tifa's sadness whereas she was her best friend, and more than that : she's just smiling at her. I'm sure Tifa can see between the worlds since her trip into the life stream. And that she senses there's a huge problem on their way. The beast has indeed took Aerith's face.

    I think it is more likely that the Gi's planet was destroyed by Jenova, and that 2000 (or w.e) years ago, they used the Black Materia to call meteor (maybe a fragment of their dead planet?) and Jenova had feasted on its remains etc and she found her way to Gaia via that transporation. That's actually an old theory from FF fans, that Jenova arrived from a meteor as well.

  • @Phantomyre
    @Phantomyre 2 месяца назад

    There's certainly a connection, no doubt. Though I'm curious to know how else the Gi would receive peace outside of having the entire planet destroyed, since there's no way the planet will 'change it's mind' per se. We do have Omega and Chaos who are connected to the planet's demise, so I could also see Chaos/Vincent giving them that peace as well.

  • @furrybproductions
    @furrybproductions 3 месяца назад +2

    I think the Gi and Jenova came on the same meteor. The Gi wanted to live in peace with humans and the Cetra. Jenova wanted to leech off of the planet. The Gi eventually died off but they couldn't return to the planet so they created The Black Materia to end their purgatory. That's my theory

    Mentioned this theory on reddit but sharing it here too seems relevant: could the Gi be the same species as the Ronso from Final Fantasy X??
    The FFX is the same universe as FFVII theory has long been discussed and even referenced in game;
    - The Al Bhed Shinra from FFX being featured in the Shinra Museum in Midgar
    - Aerith's lifestream manipulation in Chapter 13 of Rebirth being a clear callback to Yuna's summoning dance
    Which brings me to the Gi. It's explicitly stated that they are not from Gaia, and are stuck in their zombie ghost form because they can't ascend to a lifestream that is not their own. What struck me while playing was their design, particularly their cat-like masks, their tall proportions and clawed hands and feet. Statues in the temple of the Ancients also depict large cat-like men. The Gi we meet in game are decayed and corpse like, but when they were alive I don't think it would be a stretch that they could have had fur. There's also plenty of similarities in terms of their costume designs with those of the Ronso. Both are tribal communities who make their homes in sacred caves.
    It might be a stretch, but I'd be curious to hear people's thoughts!

  • @pompeomennella388

    It's very likely that another civilization had banished Jenova on a meteor, and the GI summoned it back inadvertently. The black materia's use is to summon a meteor to wound the planet enough so thst Omega can syphon all the lifestream, including all living things born to it, and move into the space to find a new home. Jenova and Sephiroth want to summon Meteor to move to a new planet, kill it, and repeat. The Gi instead want the lifestream to leave the planet so that they can finally die with it.

    I took it as Jenova and the Gi are to their world, what Minerva and the Cetra are to our world.
    Their lifestream was turned black with despair and their world perished (you see it portrayed in Bugenhagen's simulation.) The remnants of that world carry a blackened lifestream where all its hope is negated and saturated with despair. And parts of this broken world collide with our world of Gaia, bringing a fallen goddess Jenova, and her subjects, the Gi.
    The Gi and Jenova are both unable to be killed, because they can't be returned to a lifestream from which they didn't originate. So they are like an eternal zombie soul that instead have to be sealed away rather than destroyed.
    I imagine that the Gi would use the black materia if they could, but it is a trick, and that all the black materia does is turn the lifestream black with despair, and continuing the cycle of planetary destruction. It will not give them peace. True peace comes from returning to the lifestream, and the promised land.

    • @ash_yt0
      @ash_yt0 3 месяца назад

      We see a Sephiroth remnant, Kadaj being purified and accepted into the lifestream at the end of Advent Children. So I think the general idea is that the Gi can be returned to the lifestream in principle. But they are misled and mistaken. They seethe for an eternity wanting oblivion, but true peace comes from letting go of your despair, and accepting the "Gift of the Goddess." The lifestream isn't rejecting them, they are rejecting the lifestream and their hatred and misery is poured into their dream for vengeance against the planet.

    I almost died laughing when you said "oops!" Omg hahaha I was thinking the same when I saw that scene!
    Off subject but...Sephiroth kept focusing Cloud on Tifa being a fake which may have been a double ploy...first, she's the only one who was able to combat his reunional state at all so she's a problem for them, but second...if they were planning to mimic Aerith, we know Sephiroth already knows what happened originally or in other timelines or whatever so...priming Cloud's mind...whew.

  • @marbarosi
    @marbarosi 3 месяца назад +1

    So basically, got to look backwards.
    Jenova's Realms Mosaic Theory. (Broken Mirror)
    Sephiroth aka Jenova needs to merge the realms.
    Meaning, That the ancients were not able to beat Jenova or the calamity that rang from the sky.
    So with a last effort, they shattered reality into many pieces. The planets arbiters of fate would make sure that each realm plotted events stay the course, so that Jenova never becomes aware of what is going on. Until Seph or Jenova does..
    Now, the reunion is the merging of these worlds. Aerith now will be unable to hide in any other realm. The merging of worlds needs to happen, to bring it back to the realm from which it came.
    Also, the Gi are blue and so is Jenova. Maybe she's a Gi. Because the Gi aren't from earth and cannot merge with the lifestream and neither can Jenova

It is interesting that by summoning the meteor that fell in the northern continent, the Gi inadvertently brought Jenova on that meteor. The Gi themselves also seem like aliens. Unless they're artificial beings, how else can you be alive but not "from the lifestream"?

    Ever since finding out that the Gi made the Black Materia and wanted it returned to them they bothered me. Not because I didn't like the idea, but because they admitted they were not from Gaia and yet they felt entitled to a Materia they created filled from dark energy and emotion they pulled from the planet. They wanted the heroes to give it back to them.... but they don't have any claim to this materia.
    They made it, sure, but they stole that energy from the planet to make it. So they don't own any real ownership of it. It either needs to be destroyed or returned to the planet where it came from.
    The idea that they planned to use the materia to summon Jenova or a meteor to wipe out the Cetra brings a whole new level to the table. A series of dots I never thought to connect.
    Ever since the OG game I always wondered what the deal with the Gi tribe was. They seemed so... extra and added on and made the rest of the game feel cluttered.
    I was like, "We already have Shinra to worry about, and Sephiroth and Jenova, do we really need a 4th villain?" Now it makes a lot more sense. The Gi being the start of the rolling shitstorm of a snowball downhill makes their hatred and greed (and or selfishness) pretty damn evil.
    It's a brilliant theory. One I hope gets more traction in the next game because it lines up very nicely.
