This was great, thanks for posting. There are quite a few of these tests of the 335d on RUclips being made now.....it's interesting because it supports my experience of one I owned (Touring also) and it always put a smile on my face....lots of people realising how fast they are real-world. Someone I know also had the same car and had it on a dyno and it was reading about 332bhp standard so this may explain why it gets 4.6 - 60. I also maintained that there was never a necessity to remap mine with the driveability and power of the stock car. I'd be wary of the tuning option....the max output that you can sensibly get is 360 bhp with the N57 twin turbo. The reason for this is balance with torque which should stay within the 700nm ZF gearbox tolerance and more importantly the dynamics/capabiity of the chassis aren't suited for 400bhp. So safely you'll only gain about 25 more bhp and 50nm's of torque!? Not worth it in my opinion...I would just buy a more powerful car if you really need it and not worry about insurance and busted components.
Thanks Pezz! Appericate your feedback, a Stage 1 maps transform the car ten fold, you think the car is good now; a map is unbelievable 👍🏼 It takes it up to 80bhp & 100nm torque increase minimum I plan to get it done in the new year and document the differences! Thanks for watching and consider subscribing to see it first 👊🏼
I had a F30 335d that was stage 2 mapped and running at 399 bhp. No Idea how quick it’s 0-60 was but it was quicker than my mates C63 AMG, much to his disgust! 😂😂😂
It’s the Swiss Army knife of cars - does everything (the touring). No need to remap. Seriously. Doesn’t feel as fast as it is which both good and bad. Only thing worth considering is coilovers/lowering, but only if you don’t have adaptives. But if you lower you’ll start wincing at speed humps.
Well said pal! 👏 I have to agree, I'm yet to consider a remap it's now been almost three years of ownership and still haven't craved getting it done I think lowering springs will be the way I go as it's cost effective compared to coilovers, I think coilovers would be slightly overkill for a commuting car 🤣 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼
@@0brand0brand34 The ride on 18" non flats is bliss, the reason I was considering lowering springs was to help with cornering as it's a bit boat like at the best of times 🙈
Mighty impressive fella noice 👍👌 tempted by a dragy for its cool simplicity, I have a AIM SOLO which does all the same but I love the comparison tables etc you get with the dragy too 👍
Very nice mate. Ive got an e92 335d running stage 1. I have never used Draggy before but I have launched using brake boosting and its brilliantly quick but this looks quite a bit quicker. The 8 speed zf is the main difference I think. Its a lot better than my 6 speed. Great video.
Thanks Ben, I know the E92 335d is no slouch but you are correct in saying the auto boxes are different from the E92 to F31 👍🏼 I also think the E92 only runs a single turbo in comparison to a twin setup, correct me if I'm wrong? Appreciate the comment, cheers for tuning in!
I did 4.6 seconds, I did highlight at the start BMWs claimed time was 4.9 seconds I push the brake firmly down with the left foot and pin the throttle with the right, a launch control mode appears and I then just release the brake Thanks for watching 👍
@@PocketRockets Yeah, but you're timing 0-60. BMW give it as 0-62. It's only 2 MPH, but that's why you're a 2-3 tenths quicker than the list speed. Good vid though, you've saved me from thrashing mine to find the real number.
Not yet Ollie! Been crazy for me currently, the BMW modifications have been put on hold, luckily it's still plenty fast stock 🙈🤣 Thanks for recommendation, I'll be sure to drop them a message 👍🏼 Cheers for watching!
Thanks Lewis, could be driving a lot worse cars I suppose 😂😂😂 ... Yes! That's the reason we went for the smaller size wheel to avoid run flats and also drives a lot nicer too 👍🏼 Cheers for tuning in!
Please check out unicorn motorsport developments rick has a wealth of knowledge on these cars and has done hundreds check out there reviews a stage 2 intercooler can get 400 bhp. 😉yes I have one. Good luck Liked and subbed
Thanks for the sub mate! I'm inundated with recommendations, going to take some time out and contact everyone to see what is best 👍 400bhp sounds naughty, bet that's a hoot!
PocketRockets Or yes it moves ha. there 3 top guys out there , on a side not make sure too fit a new air filter, no need for aftermarket ones stock air filters flow enough, mine was a bit clogged but looked okay and held it back on mapping so yeh just a heads up for you. Also some Eibach lowering springs will help that wobble. If you fit AC schnitzer spring , there a bit more money but don’t affect any chassis warrant as they are made by bmw. And wheel spacers for stance 12mm rear 10mm front ,,Keep the content coming 👍
Interesting about the air filter, not heard people using aftermarket ones so wasn't going change as it's another warranty issue in theory Lowering springs are the plan at some point, other priorities force modifications to be slower than I like, but hey that's life Cheers again for tuning in and subbing, legend!
