Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks a lot love these..
Thank you so much!
Great instructions
Thank you!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the info!! I must be using the wrong setting bc even with my deep cut blade it still seems to drag the material or not completely cut it. Any tips or advice? I have the curio which can cut up to 2mm so it shouldn’t be a problem.
what are the settings for using a CB09 blade for the faux leather from Hobby Lobby?
Thank you!!!!!
loved your video. You made it simple and easy and thank you for the free patterns. I am having trouble cutting my earrings. My machine cuts all the way to the mat and leaves the design cut into my mat. When I try to cut down on the force it won't cut all the way through. I'am using a new blade. Would that have anything to do with it? I'am putting the leather side down on my mat.
Thank you for the video and files!! I am trying to cut the leather, I am using the same stuff as you... blade on 10, thickness 33, I did 3 passes and it will not cut through 😫I don't know what I am doing wrong! Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you for this! How do you attach the monogram to the faux leather?
Thank you so much for sharing! Will this work with the Silhouette Portrait 2 ?
This is a great tutorial. Thank you, What other ones do you have? You are awesome!!!
Thank You ! Feel free to browse my videos section for my other tutorials ! I have several new tutorials coming as well !
Thank You ! So glad to have found a tutorial video. I am a visual learned & have been looking all over the place for a video tutorial and finally found yours. Thank You for the cut files too. Can you use 651 & HTV for personalizing the earrings if you want ?
Hello Mary Grace ! I am glad you found the video tutorial useful ! Yes, you can use 651 & HTV on your earrings, if that is what you choose. If using HTV, I recommend a lower temperature on your heat press of 275 degrees and only press for a couple of seconds in order to keep your material from melting ! Hope this helps ! Happy Crafting ! =)
How do I create my own earrings? I would like to create a beer hop earring. Any suggestions?
Does anyone have any issues with the faux leather rolling or bowing after they cut with the Cricut? Any recommendations on what to do to get them to flatten out?
What settings did you use to cut the Faux Leather? Maybe I missed that?
Just curious if the files have changed? I could not open them :-( I tried with Adobe and could not. Any tips? I have a silhouette Cameo
I downloaded the template and when I release the compound path I still cannot get them to be individualized on my Silhouette Cameo 3.
When you cut, do you get little fuzzies in the back?
Hi there! Thank you for this tutorial, I love the format you use to teach and how detailed it is. I don't have a Cameo but I do have a Curio and I don't have ratchet blade, I use the CB09 blades. I have a channel that specializes in Curio project tutorials, would you mind if I used your file on a tutorial using the CB09 to cut faux leather earrings, I will give you credit from the start and I'll add a link to your tutorial in the description. Thanks in advance!!!
Hello ! Thank you for the compliment & thank you for asking ! Yes, please feel free to make a tutorial like you mentioned. I greatly appreciate you asking, that really means alot !! I look forward to seeing your tutorial as well !
Thanks so much!!!
Hello with wich blade did you cut the canvas glitter materia!
Thank you So much for this great tutorial! Have you ever had any issues with it not cutting all the way through. To the point where you have to tear them out. I made a few with no issues and now I'm having so many issues with it not cutting through and the edges look horrible. Ive even changed to a new blade with not luck.
Did you turn your blade up to about 9 or 10?
Can we use also cork? ty
Thanks
I loved these videos! Forgive me if you have already answered this in another post, but what are you using for the monograms? Is it 651 or HTV? Thanks again for the great content!
Hello SweetCarolinaGirl75 ! Thank You for your sweet comment ! In the ones that you see in the tutorial thumbnail, I actually used HTV, however, I also use 651 as well with no problems at all!! If using HTV, I recommend a lower temperature on your heat press of 275 degrees and only press for a couple of seconds in order to keep your material from melting ! Hope this helps ! Happy Crafting ! =)
@@CrystalGrayArt Thanks so much!! Can't wait to make these....actually counting the minutes until Hobby Lobby opens tomorrow! LOL!
Hello ty for this tutorial! 😍 I just got my cameo for Christmas so I’m learning. Are we allowed to use your free file to make earrings for a small business?
Veronica Fielder hello & congratulations on your silhouete ! Yes ma'am, any of my free templates, you may use to make things to sell for your business, thank you for asking !! Happy Crafting !!
Thank you sooo much ☺️
I can't get silhouette curio to cut earrings from file. It recognizes file but doesn't cut. I am new to this so I may be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?
I’m curious if you use a Cricut mat or a Silhouette mat? I think the Cricut mat might be thicker, which helps the ratchet blade cut through that faux leather better. I haven’t been able to get the ratchet blade to cut through my faux leather when using the silhouette mat, so I’m going to get a Cricut mat and see if that helps.
Did this end up helping by chance?
This is a great video! I am trying to download your files but it just gives me a blank screen when I click it. Do you think you can help me with this? Thanks in advance!!
Hi Alexis! If you will email me at ourcraftychaoticlife@gmail.com & let me know which file format you would like, the studio 3 or the svg, I'll be more than happy to reply with the files to you directly! Thanks doll!
Do you always use the hobby lobby leather? I'm having trouble with machine being able to cut without dragging or not making a cut at all even with the deep cut blade. I want to have more options with making my earrings
Hello & Good Morning Shannon! No, I don't always use the Hobby Lobby faux leather. A lot of people have trouble with it & a lot of people don't, its really tricky in some cases. Cricut faux leather & Silhouette leatherette works beautifully for these earrings. Also, at Joanns, Hobby Lobby & Wal-Mart, you can get faux leather cut off the bolt that works beautifully for these earrings as well. You will find that all of these that I have mentioned cut so much better in our Cameos than the faux leather on the roll from Hobby Lobby. Oh, you can also look on Etsy & purchase faux & real leather sheets that work great as well. =) I hope this helps!
Sounds like your problem may be your mat not have tack enough. I bought me a high Tack fabric she and works really good clean cuts
Would this be the same with the Cricut Air Explore 2?
Hi Elayna ! I'm honestly not real sure. I don't own a Cricut so I really couldn't answer your question. However, please feel free to download the SVG Earring Cut files, I know you will be able to use them. =) I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you.
Did you get it to work with your Explore 2?? If so how?
Is the ratchet blade the black one. How do I tell the difference between this and auto blade?
Meaghan Larsen - yes Meaghan, the ratchet blade is the black one.
Love the templates! Can these be used for commercial use or only for personal use?
Hi Krystle! Yes, please feel free to use the earrings you make for sell. I just ask that you don't share the cut files with anyone. Thanks for asking!!
@@CrystalGrayArt Fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing and responding!
I'm trying to cut some faux leather I ordered on Amazon and it's not cutting. I've tried different blades, new blades, fabric blades, etc. It will not cut all the way through it. What is the depth of the faux leather you're using? The one I'm using is 1.2 mm and I'm wondering if it's just the material or something else? Help!
Hi Brenton! I'm not really sure on the depth of the faux leather that I used in the tutorial honesty & don't have any laying around to measure for you or I would. I've used different depths of faux leather with no problems though. Some faux leather is just a pain the neck for some reason. Also, its the weirdest thing, I've had no problems cutting this leather with a ratchet, auto, fabric, & deep cut blades all with a Cameo 1, 2 & 3 and using all with the same exact settings I show in my tutorial, however, not every single person will get the same exact results. It just amazes me. We can all have the same exact machine, exact materials & not all get the exact results, its crazy.
If yours will cut more of the way through, my suggestion would be is to get an Xacto knife with a new blade on it & care fully finish cutting out the shapes or take a brand new or very sharp pair of scissors & do it with. That way you get crisp lines. I hope this helps in some way. I'm sorry your having issues.
The Hobby Lobby faux leather (with the felt fluff on the the back)slid off and peeled up on my silhouette mat?? I used painters tape to help hold it down but I could not get the leather to stick down
Meaghan Larsen I had the same issue and still can’t figure it out. Did you find a solution?
Delaney Coooper I ruined a lot of the Hobby Lobby faux leather sad
I made a simple template and traced and hand cut out a tear drop shape
❤
Hey, I have a fabric blade that won't cut the blue leather (it is thicker than glitter) I also tried using ratchet at 10 and it still won't cut.
update~~~ i figured this part out but when I already had my own shape to cut. When I downloaded yours and opened them into my program; it wouldn't let me actually cut them. Like everything was gray. I am still new and learning everything about cameo; so i'm not sure how to explain this. when it opens up on my screen it includes the little message from youtube for the instructions (side note) but nothing will turn red for me to cut. HELP!
Hello ! I'm sorry I'm just now seeing your comment. When you open the file, click on the file, then right click, then choose UNGROUP. Once you ungroup the file, you would then choose what files you want to cut. Then you move the files you don't need over to the side, away from the mat. Then, select the files you want to cut, go to SEND, then under ACTIONS, you would choose CUT. When you choose CUT, this turns on your cut lines & they will now cut for you ! =) Let me know if this helps, if not, I will help you further !
I know you posted this 2 years ago but im having the same issue you figured out, I cant get my cameo 4 to cut the hobby lobby faux leather. What did you end up doing
How can I monogram
I am having issues downloading the files. I have a mac computer and I am getting this message "There is no application set to open the document “OCCL~Studio 3 Earring Cut File Template.studio3”. Never got this message before which other files. Thank you!
Hi! Sorry to hear you are having issues downloading the files. If you will send me an email to ourcraftychaoticlife at gmail dot com, I will be glad to send the files to you directly. I have hundreds if MAC users download my files with no issues so I'm sure we can get this resolved for you. XOXO ~Crystal
i've downloaded the files ive gotten one up in the program but can't seem to get the other file to come up. Any advice on how to download these? i'm afraid i may be doing it all wrong. somehow i have completely lost the only file that would come up and now when i hit download again it won't let me
Hello ! If you will send me an email at ourcraftychaoticlife(at)gmail(dot)com & put in the subject line, your youtube account name & that you need the earring cut files, I will be more than happy to email them to you directly ! =) Be sure to include in the body of the email which format you need either studio 3 or SVG. =) I hope this helps !
Are the free cute files still avalible? I tried all of them and it keeps saying error no preview.
Yes ma'am ! The message you are getting isn't an error message actually. What it is, is since the files are cut files, there isn't a preview of the file however, there will be a blue button that shows up that says download. That will be the button your click on to download your cut file ! =) Let me know if you have any more trouble & I'll be more than happy to help you !
Thank you so much! First time downloading files, I appreciate you time getting back to me and for creating these. Have a great day! Happy crafting!
Thank you for the tutorial, will you please let me know how you do the monogram on the leather earrings. That would be a great tutorial.
Thanks
I just simply used 651 adhesive vinyl but I have also used Heat Transfer Vinyl on 215 degree heat press and only press in 2-3 second presses so the leather didn't melt ! =)
what did you use for your monogram?
In the tutorial, for the monogram, I used 651 adhesive vinyl. =)
How can I get your free cut files? Thanks
Can we use these free files to make earrings and sell the product? or is it just for personal use? I wouldn't sell or share the file, just wondering about the product i produce from them.
Thanks for asking! Yes, you may sell anything made from the files! I just ask that you do not sell, share or claim the cut files as your creation. The items made from the cut files are your creations & you are free to sell. I hope this helps! ~Crystal
Can I use the autoblade if I don't have a ratchet blade?
Yes ma'am, you certainly can use the autoblade ! I've used the autoblade several times ! =)
Our Crafty Chaotic Life what settings did you use with the auto blade?
Thanks for the tutorial, however, nothing was shown as far as cutting the actual material.
Maybe I missed it but, I didn't see loading the machine, taping the material down to the mat or the Cameo actually cutting.
chicitylove84 perhaps watching Part 2 of the video would help? :)
If I have the Cameo 3 do i download the Studio 3 or the other files?
Hello ! It would depend on what version of Silhouette Studio you have ! If you have just the free basic edition, you would download the studio 3 file. If you have designer edition, designer plus or business edition, you can either download the studio 3 files OR the svg files !! =) Hope this helps !!
Thank you so much!
How were you able to share your cut file? I am trying to do something similar, but can't open the file that I saved to my hard drive.
Hi Cindy ! All I did was upload my files to my OneDrive cloud & then clicked on the share button & copy & pasted the link in the description box of my videos so that my subscribers can click the link & it will bring them straight to download the file(s). I hope this helps !
Thank you! It only took me an hour or so, but I was finally able to figure it out! I ended up using Google Drive and copying a link to share. I hope it works!
Hi everyone! If for some reason you can't find or download the cut files, please send me an email to ourcraftychaoticlife[at]gmail[dot]com & let me know what format you want your cut files in, either studio 3 or svg, & I'll be happy to reply with the cut files you need! Our Crafty Chaotic Life hi can you send me the link for the free files?

I am using the regular ratchet blade and it is not cutting at all. Any ideas?
Matt in TEXAS Are you using a new blade ? What speed and thickness ?
I am using the exact faux leather as in the video. I did chipboard, blade 10, speed 1, force 33. I am very new to this. It is a new blade as I have only used the machine 4 or 5 times. Thank you for the earring cut files!!!
What I have noticed is that some people are having issues with the ratchet blade if its not brand new, for some reason. Sadly, even if we all have the same machine, same materials, same everything, our machines just aren't going to do the same thing, which is so odd to me. Try taking your ratchet blade & unscrewing the very bottom cap off & cleaning the blade out. Then, you can take a piece of aluminum foil, balled up and stab the blade into the ball a few times to sharpen it. Next, replace the cap tightly. Replace in your machine & retry to cut your material. Try to increase your passes as well before you send it to cut. Please let me know if you need further help.
Where is the template? I don’t see it.
What type of blade should I use because the blade that came with it isn't cutting it 😩
What blade came with your machine ?
Our Crafty Chaotic Life the one I use to cut vinyl😬 I'm new to this. I didn't think you would respond I was just walking out to go to hobby lobby to get a different blade
Try a regular ratchet or fabric blade. They are the same blade but the fabric blade is blue. That is the only difference. Maybe a fresh new blade would be better. Let me know if I can help you further. =)
Our Crafty Chaotic Life yes ma'am ty

Yes ma'am, I have a Cameo 2 & a Cameo 3.
Hi I just tried downloaded the cut file and keep getting a message saying its no longer available. Can you please help me?
Hi Kristi ! Sorry you are having trouble downloading the cut files ! I just checked all the links and they all are working on my end ! Our Crafty Chaotic Life Thank you. I got it loaded but destroyed my auto blade trying to cut it. Where do you recommend getting a ratchet blade from?
I apologize I am just now getting your second comment. I hate to hear you destroyed your autoblade, I wonder why that happened. I've used my autoblade to cut faux leather so many times with no problem. It may have been a bade blade to begin with is my guess. Amazon is the cheapest route honestly for blades. amzn.to/2GlSx96
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I cannot get the files to open in silhouette
Make sure you download the studio 3 files. If you downloaded the SVG files & they don't open in studio, then your studio is basic & you will have to download the studio 3 version of the files & they will open for you. =) I hope this helps! =) Let me know if I can help you any further!
My cutting mat slides while cutting! HELP
Hi Ashley! If your cutting mat is sliding then that is a roller issue. Check the white circle slider at the far right of your metal bar hold and see if you push it towards the left if it will lock into place. More than likely that is the issue if why your mat us sliding around. You want to make sure rollers are on the edges of your mat while cutting this way it won't slide around. Also, make sure when cutting your speed is slow as well.
I can't get the file to download, is there anyway to email it to me and see if it works that way?
Hello Brianna ! All the links are working ! When you click on the link to download, there will be a blue button appear, when that button comes up, click download & your download will begin. Hope this helps ! =) Let me know if you need any further help ! =) Happy Crafting !
I see it and I keep clicking it but it's not doing anything. Lol I'll keep trying.
