I do! They gave me a bit of trouble when I got them and life was seriously hectic at that time. I had set them aside until I could focus better, then forgot about them. I'll give it another go!

I am wondering if we can emboss or deboss and then do foil over the top. Do you think that is doable? Would love to see a video on that if it's possible.
It should be possible! I haven't done a video on it, but I can add it to the list, for sure!
I just received my new Cameo 5, trying out the heat pen.. when I first installed it it asked to turn it on.. by the time I was ready to SEND to print the heat pen was off and I do not see that little thermometer to turn it on. Any idea how to turn it on?
I had the same problem as you with Silhouette Studio and did what you did. I guess they need an update. Also I do not like the tape they send for paper. It is too sticky and can mar your paper. I used Washy tape or painters tape instead.
I'm sure they're working to get the software up to speed. It would be very frustrating to run into that issue if you're brand new to the software. And I rarely buy any material from Silhouette. 🙈 I feel that there are better options at a lower cost.
If I want to make projects with vinyl but also engrave on faux leather. Do you think I should get the curio 2 instead of the cameo 5?
Sorry for the delay. We just got back from vacation. I have heard that you will be able to engrave with the cameo 5 and the punch tool, BUT I haven't tried it, and I've heard the results are mediocre. I've not really had a minute to look into it. The only downfall with the curio 2 is that you're limited to a 12x12 cutting area. The cameo 5 can cut much longer projects.
Is there a way to determine which fonts are single line? I bought some from so fontsy, but cant remember which. I may go to my account with them to see if i can tell what I bought
Not that I'm aware of. I wish there was a good way to organize fonts in Silhouette Studio.

Yes. All of the new tools will work with the Curio 2! It's the only machine that can use all of them. Great choice!
Can the Heat Pen be used on the ES mat? Thinking it could help hold foil in place.

I haven't tried either, to be honest. There is little to no information on the Silhouette website, so it's mostly trial and error at this point.
I used the heat pen today (several times) on the ES mat. It works great, without any tape! The ES holds the foil like glue if you run it 1/2" off the card stock.

@@julierossbrickley146 The ES mat will not hold the cardstock well (it's too thick). However, if you make the foil slightly larger than the cardstock (about 1/2" is fine), the ES mat will hold the foil tightly and the cardstock underneath it. I hope this helps.
Can we use this tool in cameo 4
The power tools only work with the newest models, but you can use a different brand of heat foil pen. I think We Are Memory Keepers is the most popular brand.

I'm not sure how they are dealing with distribution. I haven't even seen them in stores yet. There are some online retailers that have them, like Swing Design and Amazon.

I have creative fabrica what is the name of the font bundle?
It was a design. I think I had to modify it, but I searched birthday card line art.
How much foil comes in the set? Their website says 3ft of silver and gold, but their amazon details say 33ft of each. It's a big difference and im not sure if they're different SKUs or just one of the webpages is wrong
I bought the one from Silhouette. It was definitely 3ft. I was a little disappointed because it was kind of expensive for the cost. I would suggest going with a different brand.

That's the biggest issue with the new pens ; too new that the software doesn't have any working profiles, so you have to make your own to have custom settings saved :( .. I do like how you can control the heat pen from the software, though. I did a dragon in my demo vid. Lettering turns out way better, like your card!
Yes! I was told that we could use the new tool panel in Silhouette Studio, but when I looked there, I noticed that it says it's for the Curio2 only. I'm sure they are working on it, but feeling your way through the dark is nerve wracking sometimes.

@@silhouettesuccessI noticed a lot of the new tools, heat pen, embossing, etc. say Curio 2 only in the software, so I hope they update it soon.
Do you think the heat pen will also work with 'Foil Quill' materials too? As they come in lots of different colours, and sheets up to 12"×12"!
@edwardholmes91 they should work with the foil quill materials! And I'm sure they will eventually update the software. They are adding new settings, it's just a slow process. I think they're more concerned with the Sonoma issue at the moment, but I'm just guessing. Lol
Great video, but for me this company is a prank. It is their own machine, their own foling tool, their own material set up and still it is not working as it should be.😂
