    Thanks! This video helped me a lot! I was lost on how to get the Action heat to cut the materials listed and your video taught me how to create a new material to use with the heat foil action.

    Where and what foil can you use with the heat foil pen ? I’d love to use a red color or even a black
    Thanks

      you can use any heat-activated foil. Not the minc foil because it is toner-activated. The heat pen comes with silver and gold. Deco brand has a line of hot foils that work well. I've been enjoying the rainbow dreams color. amzn.to/3TytE1w

    Do you know if we can use the heat pen with the new mat? My paper is sticking more to my mats with the heat from the pen. Thanks for making this video. Subscribed ✅

      It totally makes sense that it is sticking more if you are filling in text or images. The force needed to apply the foil does make a little indention in the cardstock. I have not tried it with the ES mat, I'm not sure if there is enough hold to take that pressure. I'll have to add this to my list of things to try.

    Hello, how to operate with thicker materials?
    Do we need the roll feeder platform beneath the cutting mat?
    Where to find the PDF manual for the heat-pen?
    Thank you

      You are still limited to the 3mm clearance of the Cameo 5 but it would work the same way. you can adjust the rollers so they don't slide over your heat foiling and risk leaving marks. I haven't seen a manual for the heat pen yet, but Silhouette does have some videos on their Instagram page demonstrating how to use it.

      @@CraftyChristiesCreations did you use the feeder platform beneath the cutting mat as an extra stability platform?

    • @CraftyChristiesCreations
      @CraftyChristiesCreations  6 месяцев назад

      I left my roll feeder attached only because I’m too lazy to detach it and reattach it all the time. It is not necessary to have the roll feeder attached when using the sticky mat. The foil is taped down so it won’t move. it’s perfectly fine to use the sticky mat on its own when sending materials through to foil or cut. On my other machines I don’t have any extra support under my mat and the results are the same as when I have support. This was just me being lazy. If you do use the roll feeder for support, keep any eye on your mat as it can get caught in the gap between the feeder and the machine and cause your cuts to be off.

      Can we use also Scoth removable tape to avoid damage to material that is covered with the foil?.

      I haven't tried scotch tape but you can try it. you want something low tack so it doesn't ruin the cardstock when you peel it off.

    what foils can be used with the heat pen set? Any heat transfer foil? I'm looking for colors not offered by Silhouette yet. Any recommendations?

    • @CraftyChristiesCreations
      @CraftyChristiesCreations  6 месяцев назад +1

      Any foil that is heat activated, not the minc foil because it uses toner to cling to the foil.

    Can I use the foil quill pen in The cameo 5 please

      I am currently testing this with the cameo 4 pen holder. I’m trying to get my hands on the cameo 5 pen holder as well to see if that changes anything. I’m hoping to have a definitive answer for you soon.

      I've the curio 2 and the cameo4, I also use the WAMK (we are memory Keepers) heat foil pens, I use a battery pack for the power as I can put it behind the machine out of the way..

      @@paulmcmullan8498 thank you. I have the Cameo 4 as well, but find it rips through the foil. I think I’m going to have to play with the settings 🙈🙈

      @marionemberson that sounds like you have the pressure set too high..there is a number of RUclips videos showing how to use both the wamk and silhouettes own foil tool, and according to what I'm reading ..I haven't got around to trying it yet..the silhouette tool can be used on the cameo 4...
      You need a certain amount of pressure and a slow speed, and ensure the foil is tightly taped down, I have again wamk mat with magnets works great, but if you are I one area too long the magnets will attach to the metal under the carriage..and it's super hard to get back off so I use that mat and just tape the card down then tape the foil over that..if you are going to do a lot ..get a lite tac mat just for doing that as you will from time to time get foil on the mat...and forget about removing it...

    hi! thank you for this. question: how's cameo 5's accuracy and consistency when it comes to print and cut?
    im coming from cameo 4 and it's most of the time frustrating as it is not consistently accurate.

      There is a 1/16 margin of error. The biggest thing I’ve found to help is turning on the print and the cut border. Keep the designs out of the gray hashed areas and I’ve had great successes with this with all my cameo machines. If you are doing a color design turn on the print bleed as well. Here’s a tutorial for that. www.craftychristiescreations.com/adding-a-print-bleed-in-silhouette-studios/
