THIS IS AN AWESOME PROJECT!
And yes, we are starting another project whilst leaving others partly finished, but we will return to the those - like the Door - promise, but this is too good to not share...
Uncle Al does some bonework - FNARRR! - as he shows you how to make an awesome stag antler chandelier using red deer antlers from the Harewood Estate in Leeds. Working with bone to create a massive chandelier using six stag antlers is a brand new experiment for Dirty Shed Creations and Al's making it up as he goes along. In this episode it's all about the design and how the antlers will fix together - which results in a difference of opinion between Al and CameraBoy as to the most suitable design for this rustic antler light fitting.

I gotta say, I feel like I’m subscribed to a lot of home project crafty DIY home built creative wood working channels, but your channel provides something that the others do not. I feel like the others all contain similar content. Keep up the great content. Your channel is different and has captured my attention. And yes, I like the no beard style:-) from Granite Falls Washington , USA
You Sir, are most welcome - thanks for that exceptional comment, glad you noticed what we're doing - all the best to Granite Falls, sounds epic.
I think everyone should be out if they need to be, but the antlers should be in. The real question - will we ever see the completed chandelier, whatever the decision? Missed you guys.
6-2 - I feel a come back is on the cards. And Ben, we will finish this project... eventually.
Pot noddle pot returned to its rightful place, how happy am I 😃. Now to watch the video again to see what you guys are up to 🤔
Sean
No pot noodle cartons were harmed in the filming of this video, rated PG.
Guess I’m not paying attention !
Not only have I missed a video or two ,
I was half through this when I realized Al shaved !
Hey John, you're excused, but you must stay after school and write 100 lines, "Dirty Shed Creations are lax and inefficient at RUclips"
I can't believe you didn't go with 'Uncle Al gets the horn' as a title!!!
Uncle Al is boning his way through this project?
No I'm not feeling it 😥
I think in, it kinda made a dome shape which looked cool, great video guys, love how you held the antler to your head to work out which side it was, spat my brew out at that point 😂😂
7-4 - and thanks for noticing the subtle techniques used by Mr Watson - I thought that was golden too!
Great video, the zip ties to hold the rough form is brilliant.
Cheers John, useful little things those zip ties - be great to hear your thoughts on the finished piece - thanks for commenting!
Another great vid guys...looking forward to part two.
That's an awesome project. Maybe in the future try one attaching the antlers w/brass or copper wire. I think that'd go along with the style and look very good.
Yeah, as it was a commission we were beholden to cost and time. In the future we’d love to go to town on a massive version with all the bells and whistles, great suggestions though, it’s always good to hear your thoughts.
Great video guys, going to quickly jump to the follow up video to see how this continues
Cheers Mark, you'll have to let us know what 50 minutes of buffoonery does to your senses, it's being proposed as an Abu Graib torture technique I believe!
I've seen these sell for $1200.00 or more here in the states. There is a site that sell them them but I don't remember the name.
Wow, that's some hefty price tag. Be interesting to see what you make of the final product, cos it's massive!
So, are you IN with CameraBoy or OUT with Uncle Al? Leave a COMMENT below as we have a difference of opinion in the Dirty Shed about the best approach to the design of the stag antler chandelier.
Out. If viewed anywhere other than directly below it will look better. Approaching it for instance.
This is a hilarious channel! I just spit my soup all over the tablet! More! More!
We need more information - 1) What flavour soup was it? and 2) What made you laugh? Thanks for commenting Bob!
Such a good video- you deserve 100,000x the number of subs you've got- such a good bunch of guys!
Cheers Ollie, totally appreciate that comment!
Great stuff, Thanks! DSC
Thanks buddy, appreciate the positive vibes!
Another great video. I have to agree with Al on this one. Sorry camera boy.
That's all right Norman, you makers have to stick together!
Just found your channel. Love it already. Love the chandelier! Another idea for joining the antlers together would be copper rivets. I use them in my leather work all the time. They’re easy to peen and give a rustic look
Hey @Raceydog thanks for commenting and welcome into the Shedulencia! There was a section we filmed where Al discussed using the rivets like we used on our lamp build - check it out we do exactly what you describe! - which were copper, only he didn't have any long enough to pass through the antlers, and because it was time sensitive we had two find a solution quick. Great idea though, we appear to be simpatico - you can stay!
If we vote out and the people who voted in don’t agree then will we still have to hear about it in three years time without any progress being made? Oooh topical!
Welcome back boys. Whatever happened to that door?? 🤔
Spiky post, Chief - love it. Yeah, we might finish the chandelier, might not, depends on how many brilliant comments we get to massage my ego. The door had very little massaging, hence you'll have to wait for the happy ending - oooooh. We'll get it out eventually chief, we've several lose ends floating around at the moment and lots of new things happening - it's a juggling act.
Too late now but I'm with Camera Boy on this one. In. On another subject, from years of welding and grinding experience I can tell you that sparks burn into glass lenses but bounce off plastic lenses. When it comes to aesthetics should Tammy not be the deciding vote?
It is / was the right decizionne! The butcherer of metal, wood and horn was wrong. Tammy jumped ship way before it sank. Clever.
out!
Good day, squire, been a while - that's 4-0 to Alastair.
this video is awesome thank you y'all are super funny i subscribed
Thank you so much, glad to have you onboard!
Rather than messing with hydrochloric acid you can do the same thing with hot vinegar… Actually doesn’t have to be hot but It will strip the zinc in an hour rather than a day. I use a crockpot from a junk shop
Great tip, thanks Cody!
How about the points pointing up? You could put light fixtures in each crown but I have no idea why I'm bothering to write this because you obviously have already made it. doh!
Hey, we have already finished it, but we love to get your comments, so keep 'em coming! In research since we've finished the majority of the lights we've seen have the points going upwards - and as Al says he's just making it up as he goes along - so it'll definitely be unique!
@@DirtyShedCreations I can't wait to see it. I'm sure it looks great!
I'm full of lousy ideas today. Why not use just the 3 you have put together and make a ring to fit the middle and that way you could make 2 of them and have something to hang it from. I probably didn't make sense so feel free to disregard this post. lol
Not lousy at all, Peter - Al actually makes a smaller version using three horns, you'll see it later on, which has horns pointing up too, which works better because the ceiling is so low having it the same way as the large version would end up with people's eyeballs impaled on the points!
I got to agree with Peter but have them hanging from three chains attached to a 3inch dia ring suspended on a single chain 🕯🕯🕯
Ooooooooooooooooout
2-0 Watson!
out all day long.
Al's running away with this - 3-0 - thanks for commenting!
OUT!
7-3 - Cheers for commenting guys!
Well now I know how the hell you are. Nice video Subbed
Hey Daniel, Al explained how you guys met - looking forward to seeing his new hammer, we'll probably do a review in filmic form! Checked out your channel, nice content, sir!
Con traduccion en español please
I’ll see what I can do, amigo!
Got to be out...
Cheers Chris, thanks for commenting - you make it a resounding 5-0 to our stable genius, Watson of Knaresborough.

Hey guys and gals, ladies and germs! Somehow your channel became unsubscribed from my feed. It's good to see you.
It may be a little late to say so but I think the points go out.
We were on the verge of sending out search parties, Ronna! So glad to have you back in the sweaty clasp of the shed, you have got a bit of catching up to do mind, so you'll have to let us know what you think of the finished chandelier!
Grinder and paint make a welder what he aint!
Jack of all… master of nowt.
