  • Some friends asked if I would make an antler chandelier out of a bunch of antlers that they had. I watched some videos to figure out what to do. Then went looking for a chandelier that I could use as the bones of the project. (I accidentally called the metal framework a chandler and kept up with that throughout the video.) So in this video I make the antler chandelier!

    Thank you so much for sharing your talents and the tutorial. I have a thrifted chandelier skeleton and a box of antlers that were given to me by a beloved family member. Can't wait to get started.

      @@CysCorner I sure will CY. We got back with several large Elk sheds, + Mule Deer sheds to make up 2. Mof, found antler bones of similar one you used on FB for only $25. Plan is making large Elk chandelier w/o lights to hang in vaulted living rm. Lighted Mule Deer one over dinning room table. Have my work cut-out for me. lol

    I have seen a few antler chandeliers and yours is one of the nicer ones. Good job. I have a friend that carves scenes into moose antlers so I know the smell that comes from cutting bone. Phew!

    Boy Cy are you good. I think if the Lord said build me an arc, you could do it. As long as you had Wally and Gibbs to watch you. My little dachshund doesn't like my shop.

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  3 года назад +2

      Aw thanks :) It is nice having them in there to keep me company, they do get sick of it sometimes and head down to the house. But one of them will come up and check on me, and if it is Gibbs he will grunt that it's time to come home.

      Hello, I looked up fallow antlers and I haven't used them for anything, I can see how they would be more difficult to arrange .

    Wow! I had to watch this. I have seen these type of chandeliers in Scottish islands. Very unique, they look expensive! Fascinating watch. Yours looked great. Thanks for sharing. Did you make antler dust filler with wood glue or epoxy?

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  3 года назад

      Thanks Phill :) They are not so uncommon here in central Oregon, this is cowboy and hunter country! It was challenging for sure. I made the filler with antler dust and tite bond quick and thick wood glue.

    I have been building antler crafts for yrs! Please for your health of your lungs use atleast a very good mask or respirator! The antler dust can be very dangerous for your lungs! Nice Antler lamp!
