Excellent live cover by the Petersens! Love Katie's lead vocal and the harmonies by Ellen and Matt. And Emmett Franz is one of _the_ best dobro players around today!
If you get a chance in the future Don, you should also react to their live cover of "Carolina In My Mind".
Beautiful song. They are such a talented group. I could listen to them all day!
Yes, they live in Missouri, and they perform year round in Branson, Missouri, as well as some touring around the U.S. and they even performed in a few countries in Europe last year. Katie, the lead singer on this song, is also an excellent song writer, you should check out some of her original songs. My favorite original song she wrote was "California", but she has several really good ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments.
great choice Don! Excellent version of one of my all time fave songs, both Alison and Keith, and their duet too. Also excellent reaction, thanks!!!
Nice selection this morning. Takes me back to when I seen thrm here in Portland and they performed that song. Katie has such a pure and angelic voice. The song was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. It was first released in '88 by Keith Whitley (was married to Lorrie Morgan). Keith took the song to #1 and Alison only reached #3 (I believe). I would say in simpler terms, the song is about a couple becoming so connected their thoughts become one. Thanks for the review
They did an awesome cover of this song. You mentioned "maybe spouses by this point." Actually only Karen, the Mom, and Ellen (blonde playing banjo) are married. The Dad is a retired Air Force Physician who still works in the community. Ellen managed to marry the guy who had been Branson's most eligible bachelor. He enters the Haygood show, which is the most frequently sold out show in town, by coming down a zip line on the ceiling, while playing lead guitar upside down on the tune "Dancing on the Ceiling." He is also an electronic lighting and special effects wizard who has done several major lighting projects in town, including the lights on the beautiful Branson Ferris Wheel. They had a their first child, a daughter, in October of 2023. No information has been released on other band member's relationships. That is the spouse report.
Beautiful song by the late, great Keith Whitley. Love the group and the setting in this video. I agree with you Don, many times silence itself says many many words. Great choice and equally beautiful reaction……
Oftentimes one just needs to watch two people in love, my uncle and aunt used to be reading or whatever they did in the evening and they would simultaneously look at each other and with no words I knew I truly saw love.
This is a Keith Whitley song. I loved Keith Whitley so much and the way he died is so sad. He started out doing bluegrass. There is a great bio of him on RUclips. Worth the watch when you have a few minutes.
“Sideways by Travis Meadows” - you will not get over it. It will be a 12! Thank me later.
You really need to react to Landslide and Kiss me.
Keith Whitley had the first version I heard. Not sure if anyone had it before him
The song was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz, but the first original version is that of Keith Whitley.
The Petersons are one of the best family bands out there.
It’s Ronan Keating.
When you get some time you need to listen to the original version by Keith Whitley
A Classic KEITH WHITLEY tune and just a favorite the moment you hear it - Alison Krouse can sing it too .... not hers as original.
