In Real Life, I read it somewhere that we actually has record about Tank Drifting dated back to Spanish Civil War in 1930s. If the document in question is true, then this's not Anime physic anymore. Please Don't apply World of Tanks physic to Real Life and say this tank/ that tank cannot drift because you can't do it in-game. It's classified as Arcade Game Not Simulation Game for a reason.

The only time this show was somewhat accurate as that's exactly what would happen if a tank drifted IRL. The tracks would break under the stress or the tank would flip over.

SpectraLP That depends on roadwheel thickness and height. Tanks tends to have a low center of gravity (modern ones anyway) so they'd have quite a hard time flipping. I think the Pz IV sits a but too high.

entirely depends on the drift you are talking about. irl, if you are talking about sliding and spinning the tank, then yes, tanks can drift. but in this anime, the tank defies the laws of physics by controlling it's orientation, not to mention that they changed their momentum to go around the tiger. do not confuse the physics behind a tank drifting and a car drifting.

This works, but you have to use the North side of El Halluf. Run up the climb, and then get to the first left downward slope. Run down at full speed, and then turn right. There's an area there that has less traction than the surrounding ground. It should let you drift the tank all the way around the bend. However, I haven't tried this since Patch 8.3. Works best with a Panzer III or Panzer III/IV, but any fast tank with decent weight will do.
You do know what a Maus is right? A prototype tank that didnt even leave final stage? Had over 500mm of frontal armor? I dont think an MG turret which is usually a 7.7mm gun or a 12.7mm could pen that...
Yoshiki Kishinuma Im so so sorry but I have to correct you here. A Maus had 200mm of sloped armour on its front. This was a bit thicker around the front of the turret but nothing like the 500mm your giving. And to be fair, a 0.30 cal MG (The one the M3 is equipped with in its coaxial mounting) could not penetrate any tank of the war. The reason they fired it was to attract the Maus crews attention and use the 'It fired at us, kill it!' mindset people in this kind of position go through. Though to be fair once again the 37mm would have been a better choice.

Real Life Tiger take Full Minute to rotate its turret 180o In this show, they pivot the hull to help it rotate faster, but this's Heavy Tank we're talking about, so it's already impressive enough that they can barely keep up with PzIV. There are footages of Spanish Civil War era tanks drifting over paved surfaces (read: Drifting Tanks since before WWII). So even for the PzIV, yes, it's doable. For a modern equivalent, see the Japanese Type 10 or any other modern MBT. There's one vid right here on RUclips if you search for it.
The thing that bugs me about this anime is why the commander of the Kuromorimine Girls High School, which has access to King Tigers, Jadgtigers and even a Maus chooses to use a Tiger I as their command tank. The story would be quite different if it was a Maus facing off against the Panzer IV.
1st of all, for those complaining about the physics involved in the drift let me just say that this is an anime, and physics dont apply to anime (anime boobs are a pefect example). 2nd of all i pulled off a weirder drift in my IS-3 in World of tanks (by weirder i mean a 180+ deg drift on level ground. No i have no idea how it happend)
Fairly certain they didn't build some kind of special tracks that have far less traction. and even then it'd be hard. Then again the tanks (appear) to go way faster as the real deal.

you can repair a tank that was buried in mud for 70 years. They did that with a few soviet tanks. Notably a T-34 and a Su-76

1st of all, for those complaining about the physics involved in the drift let me just say that this is an anime, and physics dont apply to anime (anime boobs are a pefect example). 2nd of all i pulled off a weirder drift in my IS-3 in World of tanks (by weirder i mean a 180+ deg drift on level ground. No i have no idea how it happend)
also on a unrelated note: That expression on Momos face at 10sec just kills me XD
yea actually pulled a drift like that with clutch braking in a tier 5 match to kill a kv 1 didn't think it would work but it helped.
It doesn't matter. World of Tanks is highly unrealistic
The point track. Is to increase the grip and improve the off- road performance.

I'm fairly certain tanks are nearly impossible to drift, since tracks are designed to have good grip.
tank drifting is not impossible, but only veterans can pull it off

It's not a WW2 recreation because the tanks existed before WW2 was even started. The tanks were made for the sport, not the other way around.

They aren't modified if that's the way they were originally made.
Fairly certain they didn't build some kind of special tracks that have far less traction. and even then it'd be hard.
Then again the tanks (appear) to go way faster as the real deal.
I'm not complaining about it, I was going to hope it'd be that way.
In world of tanks I've been able to drift in an ELC AMX down slopes and flat surfaces before. Same goes for Jackson going down hill.
