Finnish people are excellent drivers. The way they handled the Finnish tank is a testament to that fact. Wd have been cool if there were some Raikkonen and Botas references.
See, this is why I love the BT tanks, built by a race car driver, capable of no track driving via the use of a car like steering system, holds the record for the world's highest tank jump, it was the right tank for the wrong war, which was WW2, but its design gave inspiration to the iconic T-34.
I liked that they gave the characters from Anzio a major role, and that they made them competent and usefull, instead of being just filler to get K.O. early on and having no meaningfull impact on the story.
Fun fact: The tank in this clip, the BT-42, was based around the BT-7 which in turn was based around a tank design made by an American racing car designer (specifically its suspension system). The suspension system was so good that the BT can still go on even without tracks.
I don't believe so, I'm completely certain it's based around a Soviet design BT-7 which didn't have a howitzer on it's turret. The Soviet design made the longest jump a tank has ever made (still holds) which is referenced here.
@@laurikotivuori1585 Oh I worded that out wrong. What I meant was that the BT-7 design made by the Soviets was based around a design made by an American sports car designer with the aforementioned suspension system. Note: This is not 100% accurate, and I'm not some history buff professor who spent his life researching and living out the days of the 40's ->60's. There are bound to be mistakes, but I just wanted to plop this down as a "guide". Just wanted to put something down for the people who don't have a clue what's going on, rather than just saying "*H I S T O R I C A L L Y A C C U R A T E*" (even though it's hilarious and I still might do): 1) Firstly, that's a Finnish Bt 42 not a Bt7. 2) Bt 42 carried a 114mm Howitzer Cannon (a lot of the comments below say that it's actually a 150mm?) but the 114mm version I'm more familiar with could penetrate up to 110mm of armour (in theory, lot of details hidden there... It was up to rng lel) 3) The Pershing uses a 90mm cannon (lol BT 42 go brrr) and the side of it's turret I believe was only *quick google search 76mm thick. The BT 42 fired into the side of the turret at a flat angle... It was very easily penetrated my dude. 0:45 fired at the rear end of the side of the turret. This is very much an extremely weak point, and honestly I would be more or less meming, but if this BT 42 has the 150mm howitzer people are saying it does, I'm surprised it didn't come out the other end o_o 4) Even the front of the Pershing is only 102mm thick. It is well angled and would be highly unlikely to be shot through, but still possible with just the 114mm Howitzer cannon. 5) 3:43 The other tank that was shot was hit on the hull's side armour. The side armour of the Pershing is *another quick google search* only 50-75 mm thick, and based off some schematics, it looks like it was shot around an area that only had 60mm of armor, so that even though the shell did not come into contact at a flat angle, it was still able to penetrate and disarm the tank. 6) The Pershing has a fantastic turret as you can see at 2:38 and was an actually decent tank (unlike the Sherman). That doesn't mean the tank is invincible. It's a Medium tank my dude, it isn't a T28/T95/Chieftan/Maus/IS (insert number here)/ Kv-3/Kv-4. Just a Medium tank that was heavy enough to barely fall into "heavy tank" category, but it's primary function was that of a medium tank. 7) You would do well to remember that the M26 had a great design, but had inferior suspension and not the greatest engine, that was why it was so short lived and quickly replaced by the M46 Patton which basically was the same tank (in what the tank was supposed to be able to do/carry out) but had a better engine and suspension. The M26 was a solid tank, but it wasn't the fastest. 7.5) The tank weighed 41.7 tonnes and only had 350 -> 500 hp. It's inferior suspension mixed in with inferior engine meant that it wasn't very fast, but *also struggled in muddy and swampy areas* (glances at the video) the BT 42 forced them into the river bed that typically floods whenever rain goes by. What does this mean? MUDDY AND SWAMPY AREA BOYS 8) the *BT 42* on the other hand, had an AMAZING suspension, and a GREAT engine. The Suspension alone was strong enough that it could drive on it's WHEELS. Then we realize the BT 42 weighed only 15 tonnes (nearly 1/3 of the M26) and had a 500 HP engine, so here is some raw stats: BT 42 M26 results If they both have 500 hp engines 33.3 hp/t 12.11 hp/t nearly 3x the hp:tonne ratio. If the M26 has 350 and BT has 500 33.3 hp/t 8.39 hp/t nearly 4x the hp:tonne ratio so in the best case sscenario, the BT 42 had 3x the hp:tonne ratio, and in the worst case scenario the M26 had 1/4 the hp:tonne ratio, and this still does not account for the difference in suspension superiority. The M26 in this scene is probably exaggerating how fast it's going, but the difference in acceleration and speed *actually makes sense*. Please note: I am not saying the BT 42 accelerates that fast. I'm saying the "difference in speed" is accurate, not their actual speeds. (The amount of force at 2:40 would probably incapacitate the crew. They went from what I assume is 20 mph -> 0 -> 20 mph backwards in about 2 seconds... In tanks... A lot of cars out there today can't do that..., let alone tanks in the mud)
2:43 UK and France: Ay will you join us if we help you in winter war? Finland: Sure UK and France: Hey where you going? Finland: Sorry, but the Germans will send better weapons, unlike your crappy Matildas and Cruisers, I'll get some Stugs and Panzer IVs

The tank in this clip, the BT-42, was based around the BT-7 which in turn was based around a tank design made by an American racing car designer (specifically its suspension system).
As for the BT-42, it was a design made by the Finnish by just attaching the KV-2 turret on the fucking BT-7 chasis and adding a fuck off huge howitzer on it.

History is filled with liars
History is written by the Victors. Germany loves Eurobeat. Do the math.
This is fake propoganda. Any historian can tell you Eurobeat was played at important battles such as Kursk and Bulge
Yep the Disco fever ended at Verdun in WWI since then it has been all about the Eurobeat. That is the main reason of shellshock in the US armed forces they expect Creedence Clear Water Revival or Jimmy Hendrix playing on the battlefield 24/7 and then they fall apart after a few months of uninterupted eurobeat.

2:35 this sequence made me replay it more than I should.
I like the creators' depiction how the BT-42 lost all wheels on the left and then 3 road wheels on the right pop out from the ripped ground.
Note: This is not 100% accurate, and I'm not some history buff professor who spent his life researching and living out the days of the 40's ->60's. There are bound to be mistakes, but I just wanted to plop this down as a "guide". Just wanted to put something down for the people who don't have a clue what's going on, rather than just saying "*H I S T O R I C A L L Y A C C U R A T E*" (even though it's hilarious and I still might do):
1) Firstly, that's a Finnish Bt 42 not a Bt7.
2) Bt 42 carried a 114mm Howitzer Cannon (a lot of the comments below say that it's actually a 150mm?) but the 114mm version I'm more familiar with could penetrate up to 110mm of armour (in theory, lot of details hidden there... It was up to rng lel)
3) The Pershing uses a 90mm cannon (lol BT 42 go brrr) and the side of it's turret I believe was only *quick google search 76mm thick. The BT 42 fired into the side of the turret at a flat angle... It was very easily penetrated my dude. 0:45 fired at the rear end of the side of the turret. This is very much an extremely weak point, and honestly I would be more or less meming, but if this BT 42 has the 150mm howitzer people are saying it does, I'm surprised it didn't come out the other end o_o
4) Even the front of the Pershing is only 102mm thick.
MUDDY AND SWAMPY AREA BOYS
8) the *BT 42* on the other hand, had an AMAZING suspension, and a GREAT engine. The Suspension alone was strong enough that it could drive on it's WHEELS. Then we realize the BT 42 weighed only 15 tonnes (nearly 1/3 of the M26) and had a 500 HP engine, so here is some raw stats:
BT 42 M26 results
If they both have 500 hp engines 33.3 hp/t 12.11 hp/t nearly 3x the hp:tonne ratio.
If the M26 has 350 and BT has 500 33.3 hp/t 8.39 hp/t nearly 4x the hp:tonne ratio
so in the best case sscenario, the BT 42 had 3x the hp:tonne ratio, and in the worst case scenario the M26 had 1/4 the hp:tonne ratio, and this still does not account for the difference in suspension superiority.
Just wanted you to know that someone out there read this and appreciated it and learned from it. Cheers.
Thank you mate, really appreciate it. But the BT-42 ammo type mostly HE.

@@bp837 the railway gun is karl
a note bout the one with the supposed gunner sitting outside, if you're talking bout the french commander there is a person inside the turret actually manning the gun, they do be teenagers and small ones at that so it isn't impossible for someone to be resting their feet where the gunner is.
