@@GigHustle hey there, I’m an uber eats driver with a car. I see you have did trial and error with so many food delivery bags from different brands. Im not sure what brand to buy a bag from. What I’m looking for is a large size approximately 21-24 inches in width and 14+ inches in height and probably 14+ inches in length, big enough to fit 2-3 moderate to big size bags of food. I need it to have a compartment divider so i can separate the orders and so they don’t tip over while driving. It’s very hard to find this. Would you know where to point me off the top of your head??
Food delivery suffers from the same race to the bottom mentality that many cheap industries do. Big greedy companies at the top, desperate people at the bottom and consumers in the middle who have lost sight of how important it is that people having a living wage.
It's even worse for car drivers, too. Same £8-10/hour as you've experienced in your last few videos at the moment, with city centres that you can't drive in at all (so the waiting is even worse because you have to reject a ton of jobs that pick up or drop off there), and petrol/insurance costs on top of that. I'm paying around £3,200 for 25,000 miles of insurance coverage (bad area for insurance, zero no claims because it's my first year owning a car), and my car does 30mpg. 13p/mile for insurance and ~20p/mile for petrol adds up quickly. A couple of Saturdays ago I made £90 in 11.5 hours = £7.82/hour before expenses. I drove around 150 miles because of 2-3 miles from my house to a better area to start my shift, driving back to busy areas after jobs (too many drivers to be picky about dropoffs), two separate orders where I drove a couple of miles to pickups and the order had been stolen by another driver, another couple of orders where the shop said it'll be 20 minutes wait (at least they were honest; I always try to say something along the lines of "no worries, I'll cancel but thanks for being honest"), moving between areas when I couldn't get jobs, and the drive home. I barely made £40 after expenses. Don't do this full time in 2024, especially with a car. Also, if you're a customer and you can afford to tip, please tip - even if it's only a quid. It helps us out a lot.
The best thing about these videos is that I can almost sense all the little things about people's behaviour that annoys you, and they have the exact same effect on me. And yet I've never even ridden a bike through a city before.
My feelings are pretty easy to detect haha. To be honest this work was way more fun during the pandemic when you could ride around freely and not have to deal with people 😅😂
Just eat pay you to travel to the restaurant so the further away you are the better the pay will be but in general just eat is paying about 30% less then it was a year ago
I think how profitable these apps can be do depends on what vehicle you are using and where in a city you operate. I work in Sheffield and there's no point trying to work in the city centre, it's absolutely swamped by ebike riders waiting outside all the main restaurants (McDonalds etc). If you are in a car or on a moped, you can position yourself in some of the suburban areas with a decent number of takeaways and restaurants and there's a lot more opportunity.
Welcome back - another year older and wiser no doubt :) I like your comment about do it "if you want some exercise and make a few bob" -it's the only way most of us will ever be pro athletes.
Hey Jonathan! I don’t know if Chester is your surname or if you are from Chester but I’m going to be making a travel vlog there on my other channel @JayeshChhaya
Watching the end of this reminded me of how things have changed. It was really not that long ago that we could afford to go out for a day, to somewhere new, the seaside or a market town, on the train and explore the area while working, earn the train fare and still have a chunk of cash left over. For those new to it this was one of the little bonuses of this job, you could cover your travel where ever you went by throwing a few hours into it. Now you would feel stupid doing it for more than you needed. In fact I can't remember the last time I took time out to have a fastfood meal while working and that used to be a common thing too.
Another Amazing Episode👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉 It seems like the Modonald’s have been improving, right? Yes, when the summer hits (summer vacation), the food delivery will turn into some day & nightmares… to be honest, yesterday, my night shift, I experienced the 1.5 hour waiting time already…and tonight, I got some much time on the shift, I even finished one video and got it uploaded to YT, IG & TT, how sad is that, or is it good?🤯 Remember TongHua night market in Taipei? Closer to your last stay in Taipei? It’s full of riders UE, FoodPanda…, all riders are hanging on the TongHua street, Man…, I start seeing Jack & Rosie again…, this time they are not on the top of that Titanic, they are on the bike doing delivery…& also waiting for orders…😂
Your delivery bag holds 3 pizzas. My menulog (just eat) bag holds 6 and also zips away to be smaller. Also my bag is free and I get a new one every 6 months. I never get any orders on menulog Great to see you back delivering again
I’ve delivered probably a thousand orders by now and I’ve barely had pizza orders - when I do get a pizza order it’s usually one or two small pizzas. Never had a problem delivering them. I don’t like wearing bright orange branded kit. Thanks!
I had issue. App wouldn't accept scan. So I took picture. App wouldn't accept photo. App has access. Other riders said just take a photo. I did but it still wouldn't accept it. Ended cancelling a half hour wait order. I asked support to allow me to continue as they could make sure I delivered it. I would of never of waited longer than 10 mins normally. But it was £14.49. Deliveroo did have problems yesterday. I just went home and had beer. Any ideas?? ?? . Has it happened to you.??.
The start of this year was dire but has picked up recently, maybe because of Euros, who knows. I've had to change to motor vehicle on Uber and Just Eat as they are not very good for bicycles. Just Eat is nowhere near as good as Stuart was though as they onboard more drivers and their app is 🐕 💩 .
What do u do if they order a pizza Also I like that you think about the bag, me too. I really want a nice setup, like the right bike, bag etc. Feels important for me that its in order and I blend in with the people instead of standing out, lol.
For me it took me over a month that’s because I didn’t have one of the required documents for them to do the background check but if you have all documents needed I would thought I should take a couple of weeks
@@GigHustle No worries, thank you! ive applied for uber eats and deliveroo. just eat is not looking for drivers in my area. i plan to use a normal bike for now as i dont have a ebike, whats your thoughts on doing deliveries with a normal bike?

Hello Jay!
That place you delivered to at 5.30 is disgusting!
😅
i think they factor in distance to pickup into fee now ..some apps do ....
Only worth doing at peak times. I do on top of being self employed and live by two supermarkets so only leave the house if paying well.
has your dad got a website or anything i need a proper bike for deliveries
Which brand cycle is best for delivery job
Pls tell me brother
It felt good after a long time.
The new Just Eat app has AI fully built into it now its 100% better
do you have a bike or a e bike?
e bike
how long does the background check with uber eats take?

It’s random for everyone but Uber is usually quicker then the other apps
