Definitely recommend wrapping her brake fluid reservoir. I’ve seen that melt and it was not a good outcome. It definitely got super hot before I wrapped it on my turbo setup and now it’s minty
Brake fluid reservoir isn't even close to it though, do you mean the power steering reservoir? I'm actually interested in knowing if I should wrap mine lol
@@bgubs07 considering I don’t have power steering no… the brake fluid reservoir is made out of plastic and is right there next to the exhaust manifold.. A turbo setup runs hot and can easily melt the reservoir.
mate you need to go to summernats or powercruise here in Australia its nuts
11:55 always start the wrap from the back/bottom... otherwise you are making shelves where the wrap overlaps that will catch water and dirt, that makes mud and will tear up the wrap and rust the pipe.

Soaking the wrap allows it to stretch when wrapping. When it dries it tries to shrink back, and you get a nice tight wrap that shouldn't move on you.

A journal bearing turbos will move slighty up and down because there’s no oil pressure for the bearing to ride on. But the bearings shouldn’t ever move “in and out” a little bit of “up and down” isn’t bad but shouldn’t touch the housing.
A little side to side is fine on the turbo it’s front to back movement you don’t want

@10:32 magic trick, once you get down pipe wrapped and FULLY DRIED, buy some VHT FlameProof Ceramic Header paint, any color you want, i always use clear or black. go ahead and coat that header wrap with the ceramic coating, this does 2 things. 1: is most important, it seals all the fibers of the wrap so if oil ever get on the down pipe it wont soak in and smoke every time the down pipe heat cycles. cause once oil soaks in, it is never washing out. and it will forver smoke until you replace the heat wrap itself... and 2: it keeps moisture out of the wrap as well, as moisture held against metal causes oxidation. oxidation is rust and no ones likes rusty metal parts. so just a pro tip no one ever uses but me.... use vht flame prooof ceramic header spray to coat and seal your heat wrap on your downs and test pipes. youll thank me profusley later when you can just rinse the oil dirrectly off the wrap and it wont soak in

@13:55, dont hate me, just sharring what i feelto be wisdom, if you take that gold foil tape and cut it down the length of the roll, effectivley making two thinner long strips, you can better wrap hoses with curves and bends as thinner wraps will contour to them better, same thing for heat wrap or laza wrap for down pipes. 1.5"wid is the secret no one talks about. it wraps tighter and smoother for curved secitons of pipe. the 2" wide is really only for test pipes that are straight runs.. again no one ever talks about or shares this kinda wisdom. it just comes from year and year and years of trial and error. same for using vht flame proof manifold spray to coat and seal your header wrap.. i suppose most secrets will remain that way to the masses.
