I raced with Joseph Loake in karting and he has always been quick in everything he has done huge respect to him and hope he gets to do great things in F1
Amazing Joseph! I remember David coulthard winning the first auto sport young driver award in 91 and seeing him drive the McLaren and followed him throughout his career. I’ll be watching Joseph very closely in f3
The fact that he was 4.4 seconds off the pole lap of 2023 which was done by Verstappen is really impressive since AMR22 was one of the less faster cars
@ @ Alonso though, raced with AMR23 (in 2023), and my point was that a 2022 Aston Martin which is a much slower car that an RB19 (which was raced in 2023) was 4.4 seconds of pole lap (also in 2022 in silverstone it was raining). So with only a few laps he adapted and made this impressive result in my opinion.
I agree he's something we haven't seen in a while, hes' able to contain his emotions and when to use it, is something ive only seen on schumacher but there are others im sure but Joseph have that and then some. Hope we'll see him again soon not just on an F1 Car but on the podium which i won't be surprise when that happens. Best of Luck and thank you for sharing and making this video.
Just think of all the talent that just can’t make it solely down to cost. Hopefully we’ll see more sponsorships and driver academies to allow a larger pool of talent to shine.
He's very quick. I really hope the FIA force more teams onto the grid because being capped at 10 is just so stupid considering how much talent is in the lower formulas.
Pretty impressive showing by Joseph, only 1.3 seconds off strolls FP3 time from 2022 in a slightly more upgraded AMR22. From one days running it’s very strong!
I really hope he makes it to F1. Came across Joseph a few guys on iracing and one of the nicest guys you can meet. Shame he keeps effing off the distance though. Hope he makes it to F1, he deserves it!
He's a true racer to get into the car and he immediately asks about brake pressures, an analytical racer thinking about every aspect of the cars performance and how he can maximise it.
Joseph created a new American fan in me! 🙋🏻♂️ For how little high level experience Joseph has at this stage of his career, it was awesome to watch him absorb everything thrown at him, all the new info, steps, pressure, nerves, etc., then once he got in the car on his push runs, he had smooth hands, easily caught a couple small snaps and just seemed at ease. I’m very impressed and will be following from abroad. Best of luck Joseph! Whether or not you make it to F1, you have shown you can wheel the pinnacle of open wheel Motorsport and at the very worst least, I’m sure we’ll see Joseph racing something like an LMP2 or perhaps a Hypercar in the coming years. Le Mans would be fun! 😉 Keep it up young man! 💪
@@Tenziki It is unfair to compare 2022 cars to that of 2021. The comment you responded to was remarking on how this driver performed well and was not far off from Stroll's 2022 FP3 lap. For your own sake, think a little harder next time.
@@Tenziki because the car in this vid is from 2022. The qualifying session for the British GP was wet, hence why I compare the lap time with stroll's quali sim from FP3. Idk what u are trynna saying tho
Nice to see a young driver get a test. But I can’t help thinking teams should be testing way more young drivers just as part of talent finding?! It’s a multi billion dollar sport ffs.
The Formula 1 team Aston Martin just told you to push hard for 3 laps around a racing circuit, with you driving. Push for 3 laps on a racing circuit. Very groovy.
I would have liked to stay on board for a couple consecutive corners at least. With the wild cuts back and forth you don't get a good impression of how well he is doing.
Well done to Joseph and nice video, just a little bit of critisisim to the editing team, in the pushlap at 16:20, you could at least try to cut to the right corners to where he actually is on the lap
That bothered me too, at 15:58 as well. I'm guessing they didn't have anyone filming at that location, though I'm sure they've got some aerial footage from earlier in the session they could've sliced in.
For those of you asking - here's his flying lap onboard footage!

1m 32. Pretty damn good, he was definitely sending it.
He didn't crash on the formation lap. Huge prospect for Aston Martin.
he need to replace Lance Stroll.
😂😂😂
I've seen enough - give him Lance Stroll's seat
That would be Cruel. Lance has got a car with breaks that fail in such a way that the car magically ends up in the gravel.
🤣🤣🤣
Will need already 452% better at addressing the media.
Was about to say the same
BOSS comment, but totally true!
That lad is beautifully aware of what he's doing!
An incredible experience for him no doubt. Kept it on the track, didn't spin or drive it into gravel, impressive stuff.
Stroll Out, Loake In! Stroll can use his experience in team management
@@laportlaportlaport Stroll wil become a gravelpit designer.
What experience??@@laportlaportlaport
Well spoken, head screwed on, not afraid to show their passion for the sport. What a guy, looking forward to seeing more of Joseph on the grid.
Lol the btcc grid maybe. F1 not so much.
Well spoken hmmm, 1:19 well that is what she said
Fair play to the lad, sent it.
Joseph is the kind of person that deserves to be in this sport ! 🔥
Just cuz you're a nice guy doesn't mean shit. Deserving something just cuz you're a nice person is a stupid and flawed concept.

@@jacliffh9221 so? It was raining during quali in 2022 so we can't compare. The fastest lap in practice by an AM was a 1:29.593 if that helps.

Couldn't stop smiling all the way through it. Kudos to Aston Martin for providing this opportunity for him.

Awesome, sliding the car about, quick, calm and just looked complety relaxed. A name I think we will hear from again in F1. Brilliant.
Fantastic that this is available to anyone with talent and is not enterally limited to only those that are super wealthy !
Life experience... TOP!!!

damn I have watched a lot of these kinds of videos over the years but not seen many where someone was so incredibly smooth and confident
So this is where Blake has been.
Been there done that. Nothing like the first time you floor an F1 car. Not a fan if these modern "big" cars but he did a very good job. No mistakes.
So nice to see a longer video of this, a lot of the time they do these things it’s like 5 minutes of footage. Great work

1.31.11 considering Alonso and Stroll averaged high 1.29s in Practice in 2022, without a proper set up, first day in the car, is mental!
What a great opportunity. Congratulations!
