“I shifted the narrative focus from Wanda and back to Strange.”
And somehow you managed to give her more character in this than in the actual movie.
Likely due to the sudden appearance of consistency in motives and, well... more characterisation than zero. America Chavez was literally a mcguffin, but wands was basically anything she needed to be at any time in the script. You can't characterise things that shift at a whim to move the plot along.
Crazy. this story makes me appreciate Wanda, the other one made me realize she's just a sick monster playing hero.
In this story Evil strange doesn't need Wanda at all. All he needs is Vishanti.
Also somehow he manipulates such that they enter his universe. How is it even possible to manipulate such a thing?

The Drinkers version sounds like a decent Marvel movie from a decade ago.
It really does. It sounds infinitely better than what we actually got in the end
Ironman today would start with Tony vomiting from too much vodka, a portal opening and a Stark Industries weapon from another universe would fly in and kick him away.
He wakes up at home, asks Jarvis to built him some flying suit, Jarvis adds a light into its chest and we go on an adventure with some sidekicks and twerking a world ending threat, cause Tony vomited on one guy's shoes and didnt pay for a clean up, so noe this guy wants a revenge and destroy the world.
yea i dont agree with everything he said, but its 95% better than the actual movie we got

@@TheInfamousRPGGroup-on-Rumble the thing I really don't agree with is that nobody really cares about Christine so just throw her out
Wow, a version of this movie that doesn't neuter or degrade the heroes we've come to love. A Wanda that actually learned from her mistakes and made a sacrifice that didn't feel hollow. A Strange that logically would question his place in everything and is the actual centerpiece to his own movie. Bravo, Drinker, and thank you.
So.
Exactly what the original MoM is?
@@Dragonage2ftw ummm.... no. Wandas “sacrifice” was pointless as she caused all the trouble in the movie. Dr strange was severely underpowered and didn’t use any of his over powered abilities against Wanda. Dr strange not being the sorcerer supreme anymore was dumb af and disrespectful to his character. They brought Charles Xavier in who is extremely powerful and Wanda beat him in his own game (mind control). I was looking forward to the movie for years bcuz I love dr strange, but I was severely disappointed, I will probably never watch it again
@@Dragonage2ftw Not really. Don't be fooled, this film was nothing like it should have been. Was it entertaining, suspenseful, and intriguing? Sure. But in terms of character, everyone this film is a hollow shell written by shriveled, miserable husks with degrees and the required Twitter bios.

"I would watch this proposed movie and enjoy it way more than the shit in a bag, disguised with marvel cologne, absolute garbage motion picture they gave us. The movie the Drinker imagines stays true to the motivations of each character as we have come to know them, just like he states. Marvel is dead and has been pumping out visual diarrhea mixed with narrative brain drool for quite some time now strictly for cash grabs. Every character in the movie gets dumber as the movie progresses, if you can call it that, all of which eventually end up in a IQ wasteland where the average marvel superhero is about as smart and dispensable as a tree stump. I vote that The Drinker, alcoholism and all included, direct/write the next marvel movie."
The Drinker’s version is a thousand times better with just the simple fact that it redirects the focus of the movie back to Dr. Strange instead of Wanda being the whole plot
That's what I said. Thought this was a scarlet witch movie.
@@justintime41776 You weren't wrong, it was
Honestly for the amount of screen time given to her, she should have been the title character. I understand the reason they gave her so much screen time was to satisfy feminists. Wanda is honestly my favorite character so I liked it, but they did her so dirty and the ending was so cheap. We all know she is coming back, if you don’t see a body they ain’t dead, but it’s marvel so even a dead body can still be brought back.
I really hated the "muh children" plot.
Idk how much I like Wanda... The thought of them thinking she can do what she'd done in westview and it be justified is a bit horrifying. She's not even good villain territory she knew what she was doing was wrong and didn't care.
The irony that Drinker, one of the “misogynistic right wing assholes who is threatened by strong women,” managed to make Scarlet Witch an actual likeable character and heroine with plenty of agency and power that feminists keep saying they wanna give their heroines
With how much I love the person Wanda was prior to her own show, this was one of the most cathartic videos I've watched in a long time.
Drinker’s Wanda even manage to become a villain and then become a hero again without giving us whiplash
Drinker doesn't just crap on everything that has a whiff of social commentary for clicks. He actually makes solid story fix suggestions.
Thing is the definition of "agency" for most post-modern feminists is just hating men while being perfect and better in every way. Most feminist harbor resentment towards men either because their dad didn't love them enough or they have a hard time maintaining relationships with them due to some unchecked childhood trauma
lol
What if instead of evil strange “somehow surviving” Thanos’s victory over Earth, Thanos left him alive to forever live with the knowledge that in one possible future he won, but he exists in one of the 14 million realities where he lost? Could be some good extra motivation for his turning evil, as well as a good antithesis to Wanda’s eventual acceptance that she is happy in another universe. While she accepts it, evil strange is unable to cope with his failure
I like that idea.
I'd perhaps also go a step further - Evil Dr. Strange looked into thousands of different realities (just as the current one did). The only victory he saw was when he gave his own life. However, he wasn't willing to make that sacrifice - he wasn't willing to hand control to his team and trust completely in them to make the right decisions afterwards. He had to be the one holding the knife. In the end, though, this attempt to maintain control was what ultimately cost his Avengers the battle and caused them to lose to Thanos.
Nah.
That’s dumb.
It doesn’t fit the rest of the film.
@@dr.cliche7560 I don’t think this is realistic as dr strange was willing to be turned into dust in infinity war
@@matthewfong2976 Yeah, but we're talking about a different Dr. Strange from a different universe.
@@dr.cliche7560 I actually like that.
''He had to be the one holding the knife.'' would say so much about both Stranges as ours also likes control but is willing to make sacrifices.
Meanwhile his counterpart couldnt bear to make the sacrifice, He is still as resillient and stubborn as our Strange to think he could make it work. He cant, which is why he turns to the dark magic and eventually becomes someone else.
When Wanda killed Xavier, it pissed me off she did it inside his head. He should absolutely hold command over telepathic matters, and her own abilities there should be enough for her to momentarily resist, that’s it.
What I would have accepted in a heartbeat would be her fighting and struggling to move in the physical world while he tore apart her mind to help heal her, and she killed his body just as he released the Wanda in that universe, giving his sacrifice meaning as two Wanda’s battled the Darkhold from within.
He's just too old to be believable
All of the illuminati were too weak for Wanda's plot armour sake.
Reed Richards is somehow one of the dumbest people in the room when he should be the smartest...
Agreed, Prof X is one of the most powerful telepathic mutants in the Marvel universe.
Like its been a year but i still gotta say, Wanda is powerful and all but Xavier defintl;ey has a shit ton more experience, he's up there being powerful and i highly doubt man dosent have tricks up his sleeve
I respect the man who doesn’t just critique, but provides solutions. Well done Drinker, you have a gift.
It's because the drinker isn't bogged down by the "Hollywood IT thing of moment". He doesn't adhere to the diversity/inclusion/gender heavy handed writing of studios, and he certainly doesn't pull punches to what is good or bad in a movie. He just simply suggests repairs to the holes and other plot devices to go from a patchwork of badly written dialogue and script, to something that resembles a plausible story.
This is why RUclips is such a great place for alternative entertainment and information. It brings in people like the drinker who actually cares about the quality of a movie and instead of just blatant criticism and finger wagging, he brings logical and thought out solutions.
So in summary, RUclips and The Critical Drinker bring in a breath of fresh air to a foul, weak willed, and stench ridden movie industry whose only premise at the moment is to lecture and confuse the average moviegoer who simply wants entertainment.
@obama potato How is it weird? They married off young then.

@obama potato I haven’t read the books, but if that’s what takes place in the books, then a screen adaptation is going to present exactly that to the audience. Maybe they’re sticking to the source material…but I could be wrong.
Your motivation for evil Strange is way better than "I want your girlfriend!"
The real question now is can you ntr yourself 😟
In the end, evil Dr. Strange was basically just Bowser from Super Mario Bros.
It's the Marvel equivalent of "I'll fight you for her!"

@@vladpiranha "Your Christine is in another dimension." 🍄🏰
A movie that makes Wanda actually likeable and understandable, and brings focus back to the main character!
The movie we really needed!
Which one?
Exactly
Nope. The damage has already been done since WandaVision. Should've made Agatha the true villain all along and not someone who stumbled upon Wanda and just made her way inside Westview. Agatha's plans should be to manipulate Wanda into thinking that she is a normal suburban mom. Agatha would enslave an entire town in order to keep Wanda preoccupied while also drain Wanda's power to make herself more powerful. Eventually due to outside intervention, Wanda would regain her mind, defeat Agatha and decided to break the spell that enslaved Westview, sacrificing her own happiness to save the people. But in the end those she saved would be turn against her because they thought it was all Wanda's doing. Thus making her a target for the government and what will also drive Wanda to the edge. Turns out, Agatha is using a powerful spell from the Darkhold to manipulate her and even after she broke the spell, the effects still haven't wear off completely and would still affect Wanda's mind, causing her to obsessed over how to bring Vision and her children back.
I liked her in MOM
It is amazing how the drinker made Wanda sound like an actual reasonable and merciful character instead of a psychopath with Terrible intentions Also I like how she defeats the illuminati instead of straight up murdering them echoing the mercifulness and how she doesn’t want to harm people for her intentions.
These 13 minutes made me feel so much more than that entire movie did. This version of Wanda's story could actually become a bit of a tearjerker if executed well, instead of the general 'fuck off' feeling I got from the actual movie. But I guess that's just because we're all sexists, isn't that right Disney?

I haven’t seen anything since Civil War or Winter Soldier, because they don’t sound THIS good! I’d probably still be a fan of the MCU. but instead of this, we get She Hulk. For that reason, I’m out.
@@firestick4991 Winter soldier still the best marvel movie. Back when u could have some political aspects without fully choosing a side and focusing on extremely boring issues that we hear about everyday. Not boring because it doesn't happen, just eye-rolling because of how exaggerated they need to make everything
"reimagine tomorrow" is more important than the quality of the movie to Dissknee nowadays.
Honestly I just want Dr. Strange to have SOME consistency in his power. Sometimes he’s strong, sometimes we’re just told he’s strong, sometimes he gets tossed by a tentacle, sometimes he doesn’t use magic barriers when he could..or the mirror dimension and sometimes that is weak.. it’s a character where you constantly have no idea if he can handle the current enemy he’s facing since his powers are basically as strong as the writers needs for the plot
Eventually the cosmic characters of the mcu will be inconsistent like the comics
Basically Superman, sometimes he takes on living concepts, other times he gets folded by someone like Grundy in some back alley.
Unknown Variable It’s really annoying. The comics did a better job and same with the underrated doctor strange animated movie. I’d have it be where the sorcerer supreme title gives a sorcerer the ability to harness more magical energy from dimensions and bypass the incantation process. But the latter process makes the spells weaker.
Also the user can feel more mental/ physical strain. I’d also have personal magic where the user can draw upon their own life force and create shields, astral projection etc.
The caveat being the effects are less powerful. I’d also have the mirror dimension be a place where sorcerers can only use personal magic and can’t draw on dimensional magic. The exception is using a sling ring to escape. Sling rings allow the user to generate portals.
That’s exactly right. Each writer does their own thing. In the comics, they follow a set of rules, in the movies, they just do whatever they want. No structure.
this is one of the biggest problems with magic as a whole
like for example, what *can't* wanda do? she could've turned thanos into spaghetti if she wanted to according to mom
I really wish I could watch your version, not just because it fixes perspectives and motivations in an interesting way, but also because it sounds more like a *multiverse* movie. Instead of saying that one main character is a MV traveler and dipping their toes into two other universes, it brings mention to more possible uni’s and shows more variants of Dr. Strange.
They missed having a true villain who gave into grief to show what the protagonist could become, You didn't. Well done.
One thing I like about Drinker's version is that it makes Evil Strange the terrifying villain he should be rather than a momentary plot device. Strange meeting his darker counterpart should be a moment where we witness the true cosmic threat that Illuminati warned of is realized - where Strange sees with his own eyes the true potential of multiversal chaos at his own hands.
not only is he a terrifying villain, but he is a justified one. He literally IS strange trying the best he can to fix his own earth, his intentions are good, but his methods are obviously evil. the best kind of villain.
Unfortunately almost everything in this movie was just a momentary plot point. Almost nothing or no one was developed at all.
Almost like someone said we need to make a dr strange movie...
Yeah regular Dr Strange being able to just defeat Evil Strange in the movie, was very bizzare to me
More like "we need to make an america chavez movie, but market it as doctor strange."

Instead of Thanos being responsible for Evil Strange's universe being destroyed I'd have him explain that "a conqueror came" which out Strange would just assume was Thanos but later find out that it was actually Kang. Planting the seeds for the next Avengers big bad and tying it into the other films a bit
Yes that would be sooo good. And i would take it a bit further having an after credit scene, where loki shows up to revel this bit of information to doctor strange and saying something like they have to start warning/planing/gathering heroes for a battle against Kang.
@@DrakenFire cool idea and I love it but save that for the end of Loki season 2
One other thing I'd do: replace the Stan Lee cameo tradition with Jonathan Majors. Have him appear as various different people in all the films to plant the seeds for Kang further and when he finally shows up as the big boss we can reveal that he was undercover and scoping out the universes, getting ready to invade them and seeing what potential heroes could get in his way
@@DrakenFire Or maybe instead, while Wanda and Evil Strange are about to die under the collapsing santum, Loki intervened and saved Wanda, and there reveal this bit of information to her because her powers would be needed to battle Kang.
That would actually be so good and makes sense if the plot leaks of Dr. Strange 3 regarding Strange and Kang’s rivalry to be true! It would kinda make sense that evil Strange survived that reality of his when a conqueror arrived in his universe.
I would cry.
A proper Kang the Conqueror, and Dr Strange-Wanda-Loki as the new Big Three for the Multiverse saga wouldve been soooo gooooood.

This version of Sinister Strange is SO much better! Wanda gets an actual story i can empathize with!
I think if you threw in Wanda’s story from the original into this movie then it would be even better. She could be working off the promise of sinister strange, but I don’t like the idea of the darkhold being what corrupts her. It gives her a cop out she doesn’t need -she is doing bad things out of her own selfish desire not because of a corrupting magical book. In the end of Drinkers movie I could see Sinister strange presenting Wanda with her children, but they see her as the monster she’s become (much like the original) which spurs Wanda to realize that in this mission to be with her family, she’s become a monster unfit to be their mother. She’d then turn on Sinister Strange.

One of my issues with this movie is that absolutely nothing happens to Dr. Strange. In the first movie, he had a great character arc which made that movie so good, but here, it feels like they did absolutely nothing with his character. Your idea of trying to develop his character more, not with new problems for himself, but by self-reflections on his existing problems by seeing the other choices he could've made, better or worse, sounds so much better than whatever they did here! It would've been such a cool way of further developing him.
MoM was Wanda's movie disguised as a sequel to the first Dr Strange movie. Look at the promotional material such as the movie posters and see who takes center stage. Ever since the movie got announced, it was my most anticipated movie post endgame and Spiderman NWH but I was shocked at how disappointing it was.
This story is 500 times better than what we got. Job well done
Another problem I had with this movie that no one else talks about was the fact that Christine in multiple dimensions keep using a line about how Dr. Strange always had to be the one holding the knife, meaning he always had to be the one to solve everyone else's problems instead of letting someone else with a better idea or more qualifications rush in and save the day. The problem is, Dr. Strange's only plan for defeating Thanos was to allow himself to die in the snap and let Tony Stark and the remaining avengers handle the situation, meaning he knew full well how to pass the knife on to other people if the situation called for it. Worst of all, the various Christines and other people accusing Strange of always having to hold the knife never seem to offer to take the knife from him; they don't propose other solutions to problems or offer to step in; they just criticize him for fixing everything that goes wrong.
Yeah, that would have been better to mention in the first Dr.Strange movie. It would have shown great character growth in End Game.
Not to mention that Strange used the time stone to the tune of 14 million + outcomes and what Strange did was the only path to to defeat Thanos.
I don't think it's a reference to his need to literally be the one to act, but that it needs to be his decision. Regardless of his death in the movie, he was the one in the driver's seat because it was his decision that set them all on this path. Idk, I could be wrong, but that's what I got from it.
Is it just me, or does this seem eerily similar to a (feminist) woman always lamenting about how "the men" are always in charge and making decisions, yet she never takes the initiative (much less the responsibility) to do anything and be accountable for her decisions

one addition: in a pivotal (for Wanda) scene, she would visit a universe where her children and Vision were alive, and Vision would say something that would make her realize the error of her ways, and that, in the end, would tip the balance in her psyche, causing her to fight the Evil Strange.
if ever a movie needed to be rewritten, it’s this travesty. The internal logic of LITERALLY EVERY SCENE is an utter shambles. Seriously, if you were to watch this movie pausing at every critical juncture and ask yourself what they should do in this situation, they will never do that thing. I have no idea how the writer was able to write a script in which every single decision made by every single character throughout the entire movie is suboptimal. it is quite an accomplishment in a way.
„But it’s woke!“

The sad and fucking annoying thing was that apparently this movie was rewritten around 2 thirds of the movie - Because of covid and the delay that it caused wandavision came out first and so the rewrote the story to fit in with that dumpster fire.
I would love to see the original and if the version we got is an improvement then the original how the hell did they fuck it up that bad.
Damn, that actually sounds really good. It’s one thing to rail against bad writing, but it’s a different skillset to fix it well.
Yeah, it sounds good and all... But how many jokes per minute can we fit in this one? I say about 3 j/m.
This is quite good! You fixed the story by making it (and the characters) fit into the overall continuity much better and even threw in some classical Marvel script elements that they would want to have to appease the general audience (like a pretty good flow of CGI fights). Kudos!
Just finished watching all of these videos! It’s been a ride to hear your changes. Just amazed at how you did make each one better while still incorporating the main parts of the movie.

Something that the original film does?
@@Dragonage2ftw does NOT!!!
@@Dragonage2ftw It does, but the path to get there was clunky at best.
@@Dragonage2ftw i guess better motivation and character development made it more important to me. 🤔
That would be extremely dumb. You could right now accept everything wrong with your life because "there is other good version".
The most tragic thing is this movie had the potential to be great. With Sam Raimi directing, the score done by Danny Elfman, competent, charismatic lead actors playing familiar characters, and the setting of the multiverse itself. But what we got was a complete mess
It's such a missed opportunity that all those promising ingredients for a great film were right there, but horribly wasted.
They should have let Raimi write the script.
Its a shame the script was cranked out in a week
The most important element is still the story
I don't think it's possible to come up with good stories around this multiverse idea. Why should anyone care about anything if everything is not just possible but actually happening? Win one battle but countless other "you's" lost and bad stuff happened and people died somewhere else in another universe all the same anyway? Not to mention lazy writers just cannot resist the urge to "plot twist" and subvert with stuff with no warning from yet another invented 'universe' that'll barely ever be mentioned again.
The core of it, that there are multiple "you's" who are somehow recognisable as "you" and share elements of history and superficial appearances and traits, but every major element of character/motivation/outcome is the product of the interaction of circumstantial differences? It seems too close to dissolving the definition of individual and indulging a nihilistic construction of the self where nothing that "you" are really matters because the most important thing about the development of "you" are your circumstances, and "you" don't need to fix anything because "you" were never the problem. TL;DR I think there's a profoundly unhealthy obscure layer that lurks underneath "The Message" and the lesson at the end in this Drinkerverse of Madness version about doing the best with what you have, is a far better moral lesson to lecture the audience with.
Hats off sir. I really like the sound of this version instead of what we got. It does the characters of Wanda and Strange FAR more justice. The idea of evil Strange being the villain already improves it tenfold and adds a much more intriguing dynamic to his character’s arc in the movie and where it would leave him at the end. Seeing the other Stranges fighting the good fight alongside him would remind him that whatever path he has taken, he’s a good man who simply did his best and could’ve ended up A LOT worse 👏🏻
Astounding! Now that sounds like a more compelling story, the movie we never got to see.
Give a budget to this man, Disney. He has the potential to make a good story for Dr Strange: In The Multiverse Of Sanity.
Nope. He doesn't check the boxes of "The message"
Any decent writer can write a better and more coherent movie than what we got
@@Kromiball It's indeed very easy to fix most mess of best selling books and stories these days.
Overall a single writer can always have the problem to be a single person and just overlook something, even if it's super stupid, but you simply did not think about it.

We need Drinker as a Hollywood screenwriter for these films!
I'm not a fan of alternate realities, but if I ever wished for one, it's one where those audiences got to watch this version of Multiverse of Madness. Almost cried hearing this Drinker Fixes
Same
Me too.
Me too, it was emotional for me.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I don’t know if it’s because he gave Wanda what she deserved and I was vividly imagining his version of events, picturing how sad of an ending his film would be or just tears of frustration from NOT having a satisfying resolution to one of my favourite characters. Either way, this fix definitely got me a little emotional
@Victor Ngo everything everywhere all the time is alternate timelines done right. The story is great, there’s a reason why the daughter is homosexual, it actually has a narrative it’s not just checking a box to meet the message quota. She’s the last of the bloodline and her grandfather will not have his name or bloodline carried on, it ends with her. They are also very traditional Asians, further driving the point home. It’s got layers on layers, it’s not just a random thing they threw in the movie. Such amazing writing and makes you think of real world situations
I like how you included that evil Strange into the main plot. That character was really wasted in the actual film. I thought he would be the main villain because of the way the trailer showcased him.
This also kinda connects to the 'evil' strange from the What If? episode where he inadvertently destroys his universe JUST to try and bring Christine back...
I had the exact same idea about Evil strange. He was a very interesting character in what if. I was very surprised with how little screen time they gave him.
Petition for the Drinkers to work with Scott Derrickson for the third Dr Strange movie. Pls dont make Waldron write the nx one. It was such a disaster. As Cumberbatch said in one of the interviews, he felt that he was the only one who understands Strange’s character on the set, making him always reminding them (director+writer) thats not how Strange would act in a given situation.
Lol this movie’s writing was awful 😂
I still remember that one guy who didn't have Disney + and saw Multiverse of Madness at the pictures. For him, this was Wanda's first appearance since Endgame. That confusion over Wanda suddenly being evil was not only hilarious but proof that relying too much on continuity will bite you in the arse if it's not accessible to all.
To be honest even the Tv show doesn't justify Wanda turning evil so suddenly in any way. I was so surprised to see her as the villain after everything she went through in WandaVision where she looked like she finally started to accept her grief
Imagine allowing a villain to have some sympathetic motivations even if they are misguided, or allowing a hero to make a bad decision, take accountability for their mistakes and grow - insanity.
Imagine more that the very franchise we're bagging on now had both of those things in earlier, better movies. How the mighty fall, right?
It's crazy because I feel Man of Steel had this.
@@ireplytostupidpeople4750 Ehhh, the issue with man of steel isn't that it was a bad superhero movie, it's that it was a bad Superman movie. Superman is held to a different set of standards and criteria to most other superheroes because he's essentially supposed to be the bar other heroes are measured by.
The best part of Drinker's pitch is it continues off the theme of the first film and develops Strange.
Strange in the first act of the first film easily matches the same origin story you'd have for a villain. He is a total ass to everyone because he has talent and is an ass and resents people after he loses it. He chooses correctly and becomes heroic in service of others.
Having the sequel unwrap his thoughts on his transition and show doubts about whether he's actually a hero works.
"Pain is an old friend" was a great quote summing up what caused him to move from just a man to a superman. Continuing on that theme of pain reflected in Wanda and in Dark Strange would have been great to watch.
Oh well, I guess all I get is my own fan fiction and pitches from Mr Jordan as MCU serves us crap.
So basically Endgame? 😆
I’m sure it’s already been said, but it bears repeating: wow, Marvel’s stories would be decent in the hands of a competent writer and storyteller.
I had goosebumps while listening to your version of the movie! Well done!
I really did think Evil Strange would be the villain, so it's kinda strange how little of a role he plays in the film by comparison. This rewrite honestly handles Strange's character so well. The first movie was about him learning to understand that he's not the most important, that other people have lives too, and that cementing a good legacy can mean making choices that aren't necessarily the best for himself. It makes perfect sense in the sequel to have him falling back a little on his old selfish ways and wondering if he really did make the right choice, while the multiverse shows him Stranges that are each successes and failures in their own ways to help him understand that it doesn't matter. Stop trying to be the perfect surgeon, fixing every mistake. Make the best with what you've got, because there is no such thing as perfect. With this, he'd let go of the last part of the close-minded, stuck-up perfectionist he was in the beginning of the first movie.
Even if it is really similar to Everything Everywhere All at Once, that was a really good movie, so who cares?
Imagine having name like evil strange and he is good but, kinda strange is bad lol
Well said. It would also reflect society's perfectionism (to be happy you must be rich, popular etc.) and give MUCH better mindset (your state of mind matters MUCH more to be happy). At least MCU nailed Thanos in "Infinity war", who reflects "dumb genius hero" like Twitter warriors.
What ya mean? They threw musical notes at each other and did serious damage yo
Having Wanda mind-control most of the sorcerers while they are trying to defend Kamar Taj without her realising what she is doing would be such a good "Oh no!" Moment during the film.
And is also far more on-brand than throwing magic fireballs everywhere. Her strength has always been mind magic.
@@TheFlyingNostril I'm still convinced she could destroy Tanos without problems. That guy was so commited to his goal, showing him a world were he failed utterly would have crushed him.
Forget throwing things at him, just make him believe he failed and sacrificed Gamora for nothing. Instant win right there.
Damn, a proper sendoff to Wanda where she has a poignant and solemn moment of being content in the knowledge that even though she'd had a rough go of it, somewhere out there was a Wanda who had a happy life... What a damn shame we didn't get this instead.
Love these Drinker fixes. Hope you do another one soon.
How can one man summarizing the plot of a story through just a spoken monolog be so much more entertaining than an actual movie?
That's how far hollywood has fallen in one decade. But it also shows how competent the Drinker is not only a critic, but also as a writer.
Thank you very much. Not only have you concretized the point you already made about the bad shape Marvel is in and the wasted opportunity this movie was, you also entertained my ideas-absorbing brain 10 times more in 10 minutes than all the Marvel products since endgame together.

Your version not only improves the Dr. Strange movie, it rescues the immoral and retch-inducing Wandavision at the same time. Well done.
Honestly, both versions are shite. Wanda hasn't been good since Endgame. Wanda has been the MCU punching bag with all the loads of terrible stuff happening to her and the Drinker is just beating the same dead horse with her is just plain bad as well. Wanda is one of my favorite comic characters and I think one of the characters that has faced enough adversity and should have had peace. Wandavision should have addressed grief and she should have had someone help her be responsible for her actions.
I wasn't fully paying attention to this video as I'm studying, and I thought he was talking about the comic book version, so when he said, "So that's my version" at the end I was like wait what
This really needs to be made into a full, proper story. This basic outline hits home. 👌
Thanks for this, Drinker. You helped to cleanse the stain of that abomination from my mind.
This pretty much just shows how much Marvel needs actual writers to give their writing staff's scripts a revision to make something coherent and half decent.

Marvel don't need to worry, MCU is still too big to fail. All they need is some lame key-jinglings,like cheap cameo appearance or name-throwing, have a partially finished script, and pour some CGI into next outings, and boo-yah, hundreds of millions revenue, baby!
“Turned one of the coolest and smartest characters into a clueless idiot who’s basically an extra in his own movie” Do you mean Loki? You can thank Michael Waldron for that.
Pisses me off that he screwed up Loki and Doctor Strange, and couldn't even keep the multiverse nonsense consistent while he did it.
They did it to Thor as well, seeing a pattern yet? Male characters are seemingly not allowed to spearhead their films anymore.

I love that in this rewrite, Wanda remains flawed, but is still a good person at heart. Which is exactly what the original is trying to tell us, but failing hard at doing.
Wow this is sooo good, you just twisted the motivations and reasoning
Regarding a character being predominately "good" across the multiverse: Philosophy. Logic. Thought. These three words overlapping on a Venn diagram would lead one to consider that across an infinite number of universes based on possibilities, there'd be a balance of outcomes across the entire spectrum (which isn't two dimensional - "good" and "bad" being human constructs).
That sounds really good, even for a non Marvel fan. It sounds like it respects the power level, significance and experience of each major character.

Chavez could work if you chucked the stupid "American" theme and instead played up the toll dimension hopping has taken on her. Make her a foil to Wanda by having her awaken her powers after losing her own family, but found that even finding an alternate version of them didn't heal the pain she felt. Have her be the one person more than anyone who can sympathize with Wanda and talk her down off the ledge.
America was put there to spout nonsense about having two moms and how food should be free.
Someone suggested to make america a foil to wanda,in the sense of she was just losing her moms, while wanda lost her kids. But unlike wanda, america isn't on bloody journey to recover her moms.
It would of been cool to throw in one of the exiles. They are one of my favourite mutant teams. They are a multiverse version
Actually this version is a pretty solid interpretation of the character that we’ve come to know. It would’ve been a great movie. No reason to start from scratch. Reining in all those inconsistent powers and stupid decisions alone would get a great links to improve the movie.

This movie wouldn't be quite a mess, but it certainly wouldn't be more than a 7/10. The villain just isn't fleshed out enough, and the powers of the trio aren't fully utilized, but I can look past that. I just can't look past the bait and switch of who was the villain, that bumped it down from a 9/10 to a 7/10. Overall, I'd still recommend the drinker's version.
