That is Julian Bond who died in 2015 @ age 75. On Google that picture did falsely have Ben Power's name under it and also there was a picture of Al Jarreau with Ben's name on it. LOL Ben Powers also died in 2015 at age 64.
I knew Ms. Rolle was older than Mr. Amos ...but 54 and 35? wow...now that i think about it, it was a similar situation with Isabel Sanford and Sherman Hemsley IRL....she was about 20 year older as well...they all wore their ages well...

I was thinking the same thing. I’m not sure what to make of that. Why were they doing that? The shows are by the same creators, so that might’ve played a part but I’m curious what made them behind those casting decisions. Ironically we didn’t really know back then. At least I didn’t. I was a child for both of them but it never occurred to me until I saw their age differences in social media.

I used to love this show. I was probably 10 yrs old in 1977. I remember all the characters. Wow so sad that most of them have died. It was a very good show. Very funny too. Oh the good old 70’s.
