That is Julian Bond who died in 2015 @ age 75. On Google that picture did falsely have Ben Power's name under it and also there was a picture of Al Jarreau with Ben's name on it. LOL Ben Powers also died in 2015 at age 64.

Amen and amen again 🥰❤️🖤💚 it's my favorite too🥰and l have been blessed to meet Mr John Amos aka James Evans at a book signing of his🥰l have total respect for him,he showed himself to be the strong black man that he is even when he was kicked off the show for speaking up and out and wanted more for his tv family rather than JJ being foolish (side note JJ is still doing stupid Dynomite commercials at 78 years old)🤔and Mr Amos whose in his late 80's is as strong, healthy and alert as ever🥰❤️🖤💚 forever blessings to him he's my favorite male character and as Karma would have it Norman Lear is 100 and looks like death, he's being pushed around in a wheelchair and looks as dead as he made James Evans,l have no sympathy for Norman because he didn't have sympathy for Mr Amos who needed to feed his family just like the other actors 🤔❤️🖤💚

I knew Ms. Rolle was older than Mr. Amos ...but 54 and 35? wow...now that i think about it, it was a similar situation with Isabel Sanford and Sherman Hemsley IRL....she was about 20 year older as well...they all wore their ages well...

I was thinking the same thing. I’m not sure what to make of that. Why were they doing that? The shows are by the same creators, so that might’ve played a part but I’m curious what made them behind those casting decisions. Ironically we didn’t really know back then. At least I didn’t. I was a child for both of them but it never occurred to me until I saw their age differences in social media.

Mike Evans, the original Lionel on "The Jeffersons" was one of the writers on "Good Times", and "Movin' On Up", the theme song from "The Jeffersons" was sung by Ja'net DuBois, Florida's friend Willona, on "Good Times". It's amazing how those two shows are connected.

I used to love this show. I was probably 10 yrs old in 1977. I remember all the characters. Wow so sad that most of them have died. It was a very good show. Very funny too. Oh the good old 70’s.

"Good Times" was actually a spin off from "Maude", which was a spin off from "All in the Family".

There was one other example, The Jeffersons was a spin off from All in the Family, as we all know, but there was also a spin off from The Jeffersons, with Florence the maid. She gets offered a job as executive housecleaner and a hotel. It was called "Checking In" and it also starred Larry Linville (Major Frank Burns from "Mash"). I bet a lot of people don't remember that show because it only lasted four episodes before it was cancelled. By the way, I think Marla Gibbs (Florence) and Berlinda Tolbert (Jenny Willis Jefferson) are the only two original cast members still living. I don't know about Damon Evans, who replaced Mike Evans as Lionel. I guess he's still living. Anyway, he wasn't part of the original cast. Sherman Hemsley (George), Isabel Sanford (Louise), Mike Evans (Lionel #1) Franklin Cover (Tom Willis), Roxie Roker (Helen Willis), Paul Benedict (Harry Bentley) .Danny Wells (Charlie the bartender), Ned Wertimer (Ralph the doorman) and Zara Cully (Mother Jefferson) are all gone. Also, you may or not already know this, but Roxie Roker (Helen) was the mother of singer Lenny Kravitz and the ex mother in law of "The Cosby Show" actress Lisa Bonet.
