  • Hey guys welcome back to the channel and to the vlog. On today's episode, we're going back in time to 2018 when we still had the beautiful white Maserati GranTurismo MC. We'll be going over one common problem that this car has that is incredibly expensive to fix but it's a super cheap and small part. This is part one of the common problems so look forward to the second one!

    You dont have to drop the engine. Shops will say that to make more money on this type of job. Remove your wipers and the top cover then you will have access to the firewall. I did mine

    That same hose broke on my Infiniti coming home from work and I fixed it myself for less than 10 bucks. I'm sure this hose could have been fixed for way cheaper and just refilled the fluid yourself. These cars get you on labor not parts but I'm still getting a 2018 as my Christmas gift.

    I knew I bought a money pit when I purchased mine but I put back a "Stupid account" to mitigate any issues that may occur! So far, so good. Just minor stuff..ie Gas cap causing "Check engine" light to come on, replaced it. The driver door is as tight as a 1995 YUGO and isn't as tight as the passenger side! Hey Cletus, it's opened more than the passenger door! I have this clock like Eeee,,,Euuuung (dash) roar that sounds like a penguin about to cut my heart out if I don't fix it which is very inconsistent at being consistent! It's not annoying but doable! The car is very dependable and I give it a 8 out of a 10!

    I'm at 28k miles on my 08 GT. The 25k service was $3,500 (Masi of Washington DC) and Not one problem and even left the car in a storage garage in Vermont for 5 mos without a battery tender and it fired right up. I'm heading to Atlanta in 4 days and trust this beast to a T. I have this worry with the Camshaft variators and even called an indy mechanic about it and how to be proactive instead of reactive and he only suggested change the oil every 3000 and drive it instead of leaving it in the garage which I do. I read where you can have a check valve installed but no one here does that?

    I get it! I'm not really worried about the cost but just getting someone to work on it! Maserati shops aren't a dime a dozen and getting someone to work on it is like asking a small engine mechanic to do a heart surgery. There terrified of it! I can't even get a Body shop to replace the damn bumper!

    • @RichardCuico
      @RichardCuico  2 года назад

      unless you're in a high populated area like LA, it would be diffucult to find a shop that can comfortably work on your Maserati. It's not that bad but most of these shops don't have the insurance to cover if something happens to it

    It’s a Maserati, it’s going to be expensive. That’s the reason I didn’t get one. I really love the design...IMO it’s pininfarina’s best design. Also the sound! It’s the best sounding car period.

    • @RichardCuico
      @RichardCuico  3 года назад

      This white one I had actually wasn't too expensive maintenance wise. If you can do the oil service yourself, you easily save around $1000. The coolant hose typically only happens one time during the span of your ownership if you drive the car all the time like I did. For what it is, I believe the GT is pretty reliable

    Took me 1 hr and $200 part. If you are not mechanically inclined, or do not tinker with cars, set a $2500 budget a year in case you need a repair and enjoy your car. Do not skip mtc or it will cost you more in the long run.

      My chime! 08 GT with 21k miles. No real problems but stupid, "How dumb can U be" issues like the damn push buttons for the trunk release, gas panel fell through the panel where you couldn't use them. $100 fix with a Indy mechanic. Sticky buttons gallore!

    • @RichardCuico
      @RichardCuico  2 года назад
