A small correction from Michael: Power figures for this car (2012 - 2019 Sport S) are 338kW 454hp @ 7000 rpm. And Torque 520 Nm 384 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm. More than enough to drop the kids off at school. Apologies to the Maserati officianados who are already frothing at the mouth. Sorry!
The California was plagiarised from the Granturismo. Ferrari did the same again with the Roma and the Maserati Alfieri which is annoying. The Granturismo has the most glorious engine sound especially in Sport mode.
Amazing show gents! I have never heard of your show before , but now I am a big fan! Please do continue to bring up the Maserati dilema… luv you all! Cheers!
Good to see family friendly content with Michael’s brothers along for a ride😉. If it came in manual I would find it even more desirable, still a very classy GT
Yes Reubens and Larry were characters. Passionate Ferrari and Holden fans respectively, but unlike Mike, seemed to be preoccuped with where their next drink was coming from. Their only interest in the Maserati was for the cocktail cabinet and ice-maker.
The Maserati GT is the Most Reliable and Most Beautiful and Has the Nicest Sound . I am owning a Maserati GT for the Last 12 years and It is the Best Most Beautiful Wonderful Car. And it is extremely comfortable and has the Best Seats. 4 Seats, Not 2 Seats
I've watched 100s of car review videos and it is safe to say this was the first I've ever seen that cameoed kangaroos. Funnily enough that was the also the first time I've ever written the word cameoed.
And the first time I've ever seen it written too. I think there's another 'roo in the Renault Clio review. They're pretty common. Kangaroos would be excellent poker players. You can never guess which way they're going to jump, but it's generally got the worst outcome for a driver who swerves.
I'm also a happy new owner of a 2012 Granturismo MC Sport Line you can discover on my new channel. Not the best car in the World but so emotional, so elegant and so attractive. Very reliable (for the moment), bought at 26000 miles, I went to the Maserati dealer for a complete check up that was really positive. We'll see... but for the moment, no regrets !
I think you're probably talking $US, in which case you're probably right. In the review, we're talking Aussie dollars. Apart from the exchange rate, we pay a disproportionately high premium for luxury cars here.
@inCARnationAustralia I believe he is talking about us here in the U.S. I just picked up a Grañturismo with 30k original miles for 30k. Have had it for 3 weeks. Love it.
Hah, Hi old Australian people. You know... I live in a small country in it`s not even capital, but around my town I have seen since rather long ago a Maserati or few. They always impressed me with their presence. I mean I always knew they are somewhat of an "underdogs" to the "real big ones", but I'd try to explain why... they were/are impressing me that is. Because when I >very rarely so< see a Ferrari on the street... it looks ~ unreal, even when I see not a Cayenne or Panamera Porsha it feels a bit out place, while the Maserati`s as formidable as they are... they seem like they "belong"... But on this particular clip I came upon after I saw one like in the clip. I mean it was coupe 100% ... I only saw it`s back profile, even if it were parked in a service shop where I were delivering stuffs and it had rear wing on (but not that lip like, but full fledged low mounted car colored, while as this one, wing). I did not venture further to look it up more closely and now I kind of regret, because I might never see it again. (I mean that could would look kick ass on the streets around my town, where I see occasional Mustang or two, some large ass Mercedeses, bmws worthy of attention here and there, maybe Dodges... IDK it`s hard to differentiate in between American muscle cars with their similar shapes and body kits) I have seen some sick stuffs like old school Pontiac or something that who knows what was doing there. I mean sick in terms of the whole ~"aura" of this car, not really care about how it performs. But about the performance... I have this very weird thought/observation... which you might or might not believe is true/care about. I mean in behind that Maserati in that same garage there was parked some I assume bmw E92... that is fairly old, possibly older than 2014 Maserati coupe. I mean... When I looked closely their dimensions were surprisingly similar. I mean the Maserati do look the "larger" more ~Massive car and the bmw certainly next to it looks like it`s made of cheap... because it is... In fact I think those particular bmws are well streamlined good looking coupes on their own, but next to the Maserati they look like ~peasantry. However what I suspect that the top displacement variation of those on the much cheaper, manual car... under nearly every performance related comparison will make the Maserati cry... IDK why... Now maybe on "endurance" under that competition, 2nd twin bmw will break down while winning and you still will be driving the Maserati but for it`s price I am still pretty sure you could afford a 3rd identical bmw on top of the first two... In the not uber expensive tier coupe world this is a gallant giant that little people will understand and even less purchase.
So i went and bought one, 2017 sport cabrio. with 20k miles. Here is my owners take:....disappointing qualiuty of interior makes me wanna sell it after a month. very , very poor materials. So its sounds good, looks OK. Im sure I wont miss it. I like it, but i dont LOVE it. on the other hand I absolutely love my 2013 Mecredes CL550 and i know i would buy that car over and over again. Maserati, ancient technology, poor materials, poor quality. Good sound and looks.
Funny. Another Maserati RUclips video wherein they show the car on 99% straightaways and never cornering other than a couple of lame flyovers from a drone probably going 45 mph.
Sadly the Maserati reality is that parts prices are Ludicrous ! Resale car prices Continue to fall preciptuously. All Fanboy bleats notwithstanding. PS: I own one Too Often the same parts as used on a Ferrari (same corporate owner ) are substantially more $$$ from the too greedy Maserati dealers. . Explain that ??
Sad Maserati is going towards EV. But something tells me they might be changing directions pretty soon. EV'S won't be making it long term. I'll hold on to mine as I have a feeling these GTs will be worth a lot more in the near future.
Yeah I'm not sure how the Folgore is going to work out for them. I see at Goodwood they're making a fuss about their great V8s in the new Ghibil and Levante. So maybe that's a backlash reaction to some flak they caught over their pure EV car.

Loved my Granturismo. 9 years of ownership. Pure joy.

Love the wide range of cars and marques on this channel. Always thought about this car especially with the back seats for the kids
Thanks Ben!
I love my 2016 Gran Turismo.
Gorgeous car and great review…I have a 2006 Maserati GranSport…modded from Formula Dynamics…these are fast Grand Tourers.

Smart man, very good points made. Good video. Maserati eternal.
nice video! The only "untouched" Maserati...my friend's Alfa 4C and Giulia QV have parts from Dodge Mopar....
Thanks for making this honest and helpful review video
Okie dokie thats fast enough now Michael.
Yeah that's what I said. "Now Michael when I said come past the camera briskly, that's not exactly what I meant".
Great content, as always!
Thank you Michael

Great bit of editing and a beaut car. Mike also owns a Citroen DS? Lucky man.
Thanks TC. Yes he has a few nice cars. Also the two Volvos and the EH Holden we reviewed.
I have a 65 2015 plate Maserati Gran Turisimo and it’s fantastic

Is the floor part of 2014 gran cabrio the same as for the 2014 gran turismo? Im buying mats for my cabrio and all i see are for grand turismo?
Food for thought on my next purchase ….. thx guys.
Nice car Michael
I’ve been thing about getting one, but not the Sport model. Heard it has a different clutch and tends to go bad easily requiring a lot of service.
get 2013 and up model year.
yeah, but the sound! hell yeah
Very entertaining video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great great show gents
Find an indy mechanic and it's quite cheap. But, finding one is like finding one in NYC.
Thanks for the history lesson, but I'm very well versed in Maserati :-)
They won Indy 500 twice not just once! They won in 1939 AND 1940!
Ferrari California is so ugly compared to this.
Are you guys driving to one of your Covid Concentration Camps? 😅
No we've escaped from one. Didn't you see how quick Mick was driving in the intro?
Aren’t these available for around 30-50k now?
I’m looking into 14’ rs5s and this caught my attention

What a lovely car. Not really a fan of the droopy nose but overall very nice.
Kind of like a modern Italian version of a Porsche 928 GTS Mark. Lots of similarities.
@@inCARnationAustralia yeah, I can see that. Pity that it doesn't have 3 pedals though ;)
What are your favorite colours in this car????
Mick actually had this very car wrapped recently - in a bright blue. For me though, I like strong metallic colours - a dark green, burgundy or copper.

Maserati today is like a 1990's Chrysler Lebaron on steroids. That's why the Maserati depreciates so badly. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another uninformed non owner cliche comment . Owners have the exact opposite experience
