Before the material starts cutting, don’t we have to “set focus”? For the longest time I could not for the life of me figure out why my cuts were cutting strange or my material would move when I’d go to cut, and it was because no matter how many youtube videos I watched, no one ever mentions clicking that little button to “set focus” before you start cutting. Do we have to do this with the pass through option?

Can you tell me how thick your MDF board is and also, what settings did you use for cutting?

If you align it manually, will that make it be off? Or will that work, too?

Hi, and thanks for the demonstration. For an unknown reason my brand new Glowforge Pro did not do an amazing alignment job at all. I went through the exact same process, but with white acrylic. I had to make large engravings of detailed figures for a museum, and each of four passthrough sections took an hour apiece, meaning four hours total... and there are gaps between the four sections ranging from 1 to 2 millimeters. Do you suppose it could be due to the whiteness and reflectivity of the acrylic?

Hey, did you mask the white acrylic?

This happened to me. Haven’t used it for 2 years because they were dating my design didn’t have enough points for it to register when it had way more vector spots on it and details than this
