Thank you so much for your encouragement!! Having soooo much fun creating this rose bed and to see it comes true to my vision is really make all the work so worth it! Now, I want to do other people landscape just for the fun of it. 😆😆
You know this is my favorite rose. Its happy in the spot you put them in. Your garden bed is beautiful. My Scepter'd Isle on Fortuniana rootstock is huge now. I cut it back a bit. my ownroot Is growing slower but getting big. They bloom so much and make buds constantly. My husband said I need more roses of that one. He is right. wish I had the space. I would create an area of just this rose. You are right it loves the sun and never burns.
Thanks for your recommendations that I continue to keep both of this tree rose. Now that they are in a better spot, I love them soooo much!!! 😍 Definitely move up to the top very fast. A delicate looking rose but super tough in the garden. I totally envision you putting the entire row of Scepter d'Isle as the background rose hedge and mix planting with other smaller rose bush in the front, it will be soooo pretty that way. 😍
Please, where on Earth did you find a Scepter'd Isle, or any DA rose, on fortuniana rootstock?! I have 3 Olivia Rose and 3 Wyndemere in 20 inch pots because I can't put any rose in the ground if it's not on fortuniana in my South Florida garden. I would LOVE to get all the David Austin roses grafted on this incredible rootstock!!
@@mntrnfla1 I got it from K&M roses back in 2020. They do have some DA roses now. They are on the rose list. They are under their other names. AUSland is what it is called. It’s best to call to order from them. They say to email it can be hard to get a reply. Email if you can’t reach them via phone.
Yes it looks great in your new location. Mine hasn’t bloomed yet. I planted mine in a pot a few months ago. Can’t wait to see that pink rose bloom in my garden. It is my favorite color rose.
So glad to see your video again. I grow her as a climber. Because she is in a shady location with 3-4 hour morning sun. I am afraid to cut it back to the ground in her first winter. Now she has easily 50-60 buds. She is a such bloomer for me! Thank you for your great recommendations! Abraham Darby too! My two top performers now. DA roses are more suitable for my 3-6 hour morning sun garden. The lady of shallot has covered a 6 ft obelisk with countless buds in her second year own root.
Lol!! Ya, I have been waiting patiently for my roses to bloom so I can make more video. I can totally see this rose grow as a climber. Honestly, if mine are not in tree form, I will definitely do that as well. It is the tree form that make this rose tricky. Abraham Darby is always one of the top 5, period. I think most roses will do fine if they have 6 hours morning sun especially for us in the South. 🥰 My Lady of Shallot just doesn't perform for me. Maybe it is the bad root stock, not so sure.
Looks beautiful! I just got a Scepter from DA and unfortunately they sent one that is almost dead. I'm waiting for their response on a replacement. I really hope they send me a good, healthy one because after looking at yours, I really want one :)
I am sorry to hear that DA sent you bad Scepter d'Isle this year. I have problem with Huntington that I received from them as well. Very upsetting because I planned to put it at the prime spot and have to come up with something else. 😅 I hope you won't need to wait for a long time for replacement coz this rose is too sweet!❤
@@backyardparadise2334 I'll cross my fingers that they get me a new, healthy one! Sorry to hear about your Huntington. Wonder what is up with them - I've read others have had major problems this year with them as well.
I believe you. This rose does not has thick petals. It won't last in term of color or longevity on the shrub under the heat in Thailand. I am from Malaysia so I know exactly what you are talking about. 🔥 🥵
It's lovely rose. I've grown it since the first year it became available in the US. But just a friendly mention that it's 'Scepter'd Isle' not "Scepter d'isle". It means "island of/with/possessing the scepter". It's referring to England as being "the island with a scepter", or the reigning/ruling island. Shakespeare first used the term in Act II, Scene 1 of his play Richard II: “...this royal throne of kings, this sceptered isle...”. Think of it in this way: "he is the crowned king...England is the scepter(e)d isle". "Scepter d'isle" would be an almost-French term meaning "scepter of the island". Sorry for the history lesson, lol.
I updated my title. Thank you so much for the correction and history behind it. I love it!!! English literature was never my thing. As you can see, I failed big time. 🤣🤣
What a beautiful garden bed you created!

Beautiful. Super dark green leaves! Just lovely. 🥰
I just ordered two of those, I'll get them next April.
Beautiful rose! She looks great in that location. ❤
It really does. It gave so much more dimension to the garden with different height!

It really has the sweetest pink among all the pink roses. You will totally in love when it blooms for you. ❤❤
Awesome!🦋🐝

Thank you! This rose really grow on me. 😍
Those tree roses definitely added thriller to the whole look of this garden. Exiting!😊

@@DianePahl That's right. We are not alone. I hope DA can do something about it. Maybe proper quality control, inspection and training to shipping.

@@backyardparadise2334 My pleasure. 😊
So is this rose good for hot areas?
@@Pailncclt Hmm, I will say yes if you grow it as shrub. It is still a horrible choice as tree rose.
No Aphids? Did you spray it with something already?
I usually do not have aphids problem. They got eat up by ladybug in my garden early in spring. My problem is thrips and I got to spray for thrips.
Is this a tree?
@@annann-fn2zi Yes. 😆
@@backyardparadise2334 thank you. I bought mine as 2- quart potted plant . Do you know if mine will also become tree?
This rose shouldn't be never in a tree because tend to climbing is my opinion
I agree!! If it is not in the tree form, I could have a much better display of bloom. 😆
