Menopause. My menopause was very mild, short, and early (42 yrs. old). Now...I believe it was bcuz I had TERRIBLE periods. Imagine 7-day cycles, heavy bleeding, morning sickness the 1st day (Yes, morning sickness) with vomiting and excruciating cramps that had me in a fetal position for hours. Sent home from school (H.S.) once after vomiting on my desk, some got on the boy seated in front of me. So, I believed God blessed me with a short, pain- and drama-free menopause. "Thank You, Lord."

I pray mine is mild and short and early also. With no negative symptoms afterwards. I have been 7 days heavy since I was 11. I’ve had those same experiences as you. It’s been rough. Praying for God’s Mercy on me in this next season. Turning 45 in September🥰

My cycles were excruciating and I had the same symptoms you did. They have gotten better since I had my daughter and they are shorter now. I hope menopause is smooth sailing when it happens.

I'm 51 and menopause is not for the weak. It's not just the hot flashes that most ppl talk about...its the brain fog, frozen shoulder, ear ringing, hair thinning, burning tongue... its a bunch of stuff that may happen to you all because of estrogen. And antidepressants are overprescribed. I would suggest if look into HRT or something that replaces estrogen because it affects EVERY organ in your body. So long term not having it puts women to the front of the line for heart disease. Lastly LIFT WEIGHTS ... you will not bulk up. You need it to maintain muscle mass and your bone density. Great summary Angela. Thanks for sharing.

Hot flashes, night sweats, moody, thining hair, early greying of hair, body changes. Now, I drink lots of water, motion is lotion.....keep up with fashion, eat better, make sure you get enough vegetables, fruits and protein. Live your life and laugh ALOT!

Absolutely everything is true …The worst menopause episode I had and will never forget…it was a Saturday I had a wedding to go to. I had my hair done the day before and it was pinned up because I wanted to wear long curls. As I got dressed, I stood in front of a fan to keep my body cool… so I put on my clothes, my make up pulled the pins out of my hair, checked myself in the mirror and everything was perfect…I went to the garage to get into my car and when I tell you the second I open the garage door, I felt my blood boiling in my veins like hot water, I fiercely sweated out my clothes and my hair; I debated whether to go or not, but it was a very good girl friends wedding…so I got another outfit together, took a another shower, and put this hair in a ponytail… and to make it even worse, I took a cold shower and it did not cool me off… I had to wait it out… I’ve never had an episode like that again and that was a few years ago thank God…(I was in my mid-50s and now I’m 61)
And you see the worst menopause episode I had it yes I’m gonna also have a conversation with Eve, I think she knows there’s a lot of us who wanna have a conversation with her in the upper room😂…

However, being a flight attendant, while working on the aircraft and you get those hot flashes is a nemesis. This was so refreshing to hear! Thank you for sharing what you’ve learned. This is something I wish an older woman told me years ago. I’m 48 and I remember when a young lady in church called me “Auntie.” I was shocked and pleased at the same time. 😊 I’m so excited about my 50’s. I feel like my 40’s was a “get-to-know-me” decade, when I learned myself and the people around me got to learn her too. I’m loving this journey. The freedom to grow is beautiful! I can’t say I’m in menopause. My story is different to many. For reasons none of my doctors could explain, I bled HEAVILY for 10 years, with no real cycle to track. It was terrible. And one day, after much prayer, fasting and Ho early begging God to take it away, my period stopped. My last period was in 2021. No hot flashes. No weird symptoms. Nothing. When I tell you I feel FREE in so many ways!!! 🙌🏽 I hear friends tell their stories and I’m grateful I can’t relate. I do relate to much of what you said about relationships. Family, friends, business, faith - everything changed in my forties for the better. I’m grateful and looking forward to at least the next 60 wonderful years ahead of me! I can’t wait to blow a hundred candles out! 🎂💃🏽✨😁🙌🏽 Blessings for loooong and healthy Life. Stay well. 🙏🏽

Thank you so much for talking about this. If I didn't hear an older lady talk about sticking her head in the freezer, I wouldn't have any idea about what menopause could include. Another older friend of mine told me years ago about having hot flashes. Those were the only two people who said anything relating to the symptoms of menopause. I recently read a menopause book by a doctor, and I learned that menopause education isn't something that a lot of doctors have, which is why there is the lack of conversation combined with the lack of Education

Thank you for sharing such wonderful advice. For those experiencing the M-dilemma, I will say this: please deal with hot flashes as though you are on your best vacation ever! It's my secret sauce. When the heat flashes come, I imagine myself sitting near a pool in the hot sun. I first envisioned what I had on and wondered where I put that caftan. When I remembered that pleasant moment, I was in the sun having a fruit smoothie. I enjoyed a plate of fresh fruit along with granola. I knew the moment wouldn't last forever so I just took it all in. At that time, there were early signs of menopause. I was barely 40. Ten years later when menopause came, I decided to treat every heat flash the same. I also will (at the drop of a dime) get up and make a smoothie when I realize the heat is coming on. I also keep ice packs in the fridge for those late-night moments along with smoothie starters (so I don't have to start from scratch) and yogurt. I started going to bed with bottled water on my nightstand (another vacation tip). Then I learned the beauty of placing ice at the nape of your neck or wrist. Luckily, my Indian Summers have subsided. Thanks again! -xoxo

I’m nearly 48… It’s been a wild past 10 years really ramping up these last 3! I’m taking it in stride.
Empty nesting came early for me as well. My kids have been gone since I was 40… It was at first a pleasant surprise, then a little sad when they come home for visits, then lovely again.
This video is important… The nieces need to know!

I really wish you were around when I first entered the '40s. I went through so many changes and still going through those changes. I'm glad to learn that I'm not crazy... 😂 I am going through some hair issues though. I'm curious... What hair treatment are you using to keep your hair thick? I think I have hereditary hair loss but if I can do something to keep my hair from falling out or staying thick, that would be awesome! Thanks a bunch!!

I get me hair medications from my Dermatologist. I only see her once a year now. It's essentially rogaine for women, but it's custom made by the pharmacy

I started menopause at 55 and didn't have any hot flashes until a year later. I decided to take the holistic route and it works for me. I don't want to have to take pharmaceuticals for the rest of my life. Acupuncture and herbs have been very helpful.

Yes, Lord. I would like to see more of this content. Why not? Let me mention that I started menopause at age 38, but my "male" doctor misdiagnosed me. My hot flashes and everything else started at 52 and ended at 54. But ... seven years later (last year), they are back with a vengeance😢😮. We are all different, but beware, ladies.

Question: which HRT are you on, if it's not too personal?

Thanks for making this video Angela. I wish someone had told me what I would be experiencing during peri menopause. I started with hot flashes and mood swings at 39. No kidding. I’m 46 and I’m still suffering. I still get my menstrual but irregular of course. I want to start HRT but I still can’t find the right doctor. It’s difficult.
