Here's a Quinoa recipe: You can eat hot or cold
2 cups cooked Quinoa (I use veg broth vs water to cook with for flavor) let cool 15 min
20 cherry tomatoes cut in half
1 small chopped red onion
1 can black beans (rinsed)
1 avocado (cubed)
2 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
White meat from rotisserie chicken(optional)
Juice from 2 limes
1/4 cup olive oil
Mix all ingredients - Let dish sit in the fridge for 10 minutes to let flavors mix. Great as meal or side dish and can eat hot or cold. SN: I add the avocado at the time of eating versus mixing to keep from turning brown or mushy
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing! That sounds delicious and I'm adding that to my rotation!
Veggie style for me. I have everyting except Cilantro and Avocado. Now, you gonna have a sistah going to the Produce store.
@@MsT_ThatsMe happy shopping 😆!
Homemade cooked bean nothing in cans.
Thank you for posting this. I’m definitely going to try it!
I make my chia seed pudding by blending almond milk, banana, and honey with a splash of flax seed oil until it's smoothie consistency. After that, I add chia seeds and flax seeds on top. I make 5 small dishes on Monday and grab and eat one every day. Keeps you nice and regular 😊
Sounds good! I'm going to try this one! Thanks for sharing!
I love quinoa salad.
I add cucumber and tomato from my garden; chickpeas; kale; salmon; avocado; olive oil and balsamic vinegar. So good.
Sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing!
Great tips🙏🏾 Quinoa cooks perfectly in a rice cooker… it’s not supposed to be mushy, it’s supposed to be grainy.
Thanks for the tip!
New subscriber here! I never struggled with hair loss until right before I turned 60! I grow my own vegetables collards, mustard, cauliflower, cucumbers..I no longer have hot flashes…but due to emergency surgery at 42 …I had hot flashes for years! A really good hydration mask seems to help my natural hair tremendously! But diet is the way to really go! Thanks for your videos…just found you!
Welcome and so glad to have you here! Thanks for sharing and kudos for growing your own veggies - this is great!
I eat quinoa when I make my Mediterranean quinoa salad! Absolutely delicious!
It contains quinoa, of course, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, chickpeas, artichokes, feta cheese, lemon juice, and olive oil! Hmmm!
Sounds good!
I use cabbage as the base of my salads. I love the texture and taste.
That sounds good! Thanks for sharing!
I use cayenne pepper in everything to add that kick…practically everything from breakfast oatmeal to dinner 😊
Love that!
@@nourishyourcrown great podcast 😊
Me too. To literally everything...including coffee. Hives it such a nice spice/kick
This video was absolutely phenomenal!
Holy Spirit downloaded information:
I have been eating greek yogurt, flaxseeds, chia seeds, almonds, pecans, walnuts, blueberries and cinnamon every morning since the pandemic. It has been amazing in my hair growth and overall health!
Blessings to both of you ladies!
Thank you and thanks for sharing your food choices! God bless!
This was a very informative video. I learned that flaxseed contributes to estrogen. I knew it was a way to get omega 3. I eat most of the foods you listed. One thing that has worked for my hair after loosing most of it from covid was Fenugreek and Amla (Ayurvedic herbs) you can drink those in water and ingest them, like adding them to salads or smoothies. I will share the video!!! Thank you
The only thing I haven’t try on this list is Tofu and I still have the worst case of peri menopause, hot flashes galore and night sweats. Trying to ride this bastard out but it is relentless 😢
Hi Lynn! Thank you so much for covering this topic of hair loss and menopause. You pick some great topics that help many women. But you don't get enough credit. More people need to not just listen to your videos but make sure that they "Like" them so you get credit for all your hard work and dedication. I'll be sending in financial help support to your channel. Your speaker Robin (nutritionist) is amazing and very knowledgeable. I also watched the video you did with her about vitamin D and It was very invaluable. I'm 61 and have hair loss and I have already gone through menopause. I'm getting ready to watch this video on the super foods. I'm sure I will learn about some new super foods which will help myself and other "post" menopausal who may experience i.e., weight gain, brain fog etc. Again thank you! And again everyone make sure that you remember to like her videos and leave a nice comment.❤
Hi @pamelabrandon-coley4846! Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement! I so appreciate your support and am so grateful that the content is helpful!!
Birds eye has a rice & quinoa power meal. It's in the frozen food section of the grocery store. It's really good too

Thank you for all this great information!! I'm so glad I stayed until the end!!! I was listening at work and had JUST gone through a situation at work, and your word on gratitude reeled me back in and changed my whole attitude!! THANK YOU JESUS!
Thank you. My hair has stopped growing and breaks off when I comb it.😢. And my fingernails don’t grow like they used to, either.
I love quinoa cold. I cut up mangoes, and strawberries and drizzle with honey! Toss and eat. Yummaz!! You can do your own fruits. I forgot to mention the fresh lemon that I squeeze into the mix before the honey drizzle. 😊
I LOVE this idea! I never thought to add it with fruit! Thank you!
Me too… especially in the summer.
Thank you. I am 56 and post menopause this year. It has been something, but praise God you are so right. Stay grateful and connected to our Father God and all the Holy Spirit to guide us.
As a vegan health coach ill be using this video daily thanks again
Awesome - thanks! Do you have a website or social media handle for your business?
I’m going to do a Quinoa Salad like a pasta salad and swap the pasta for Quinoa! Add shrimp, tomato, onion, green pepper, olives, avocado, flax and chia seeds, almonds, block mozzarella cheese and Italian dressing! ❤
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
Thyroid issues here. Ive been warned about cruciferous veggies and nightshades. Also advised not to have raw kale.
Thanks for sharing! One of the key recommendations that Robin mentioned and I agree is that because of everyone's unique and individual needs, we should always seek the advice of our medical and health professionals before adding in new foods, supplements, etc.

One of my favorites is wilted spinach. Sauteed fresh spinach with mushrooms, onions, and either red wine vinegar or raspberry vinaigrette. Love it!

My husband likes quinoa sweetened with honey and peanut and then he adds cashews and eats it warm.
I eat it cold as a Mediterranean salad. Green, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, parsley, and Cilantro. I make a dressing of olive oil, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, sea salt, dried basil and oregano. I also add feta if I'm feeling fancy. It's delicious and filling 😊
That sounds really good - thanks for sharing!!
Sounds delish! I'm gonna try both😀

You're so welcome! Glad it was helpful!
I eat my quinoa cold. I'm mixed in my tabbouleh salad.
Have to try quinoa
Very informative content thank you ladies!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Love quinoa. I make a kale green salad with quinoa that I eat regularly. It includes sliced green grapes, unsweetened cranberries, and toasted almonds. I add a homemade signature vinaigrette, which includes avocado or grapeseed oil, lemon juice, coarse ground pepper, and other secret ingredients I will not share. Delicious!😋 I add either golden or black flex seeds, or black organic chia seeds to my plain Greek yogurt and garden salads. I eat salmon and tuna, often. And I eat a hand full of Walnuts and blue berries throughout the day. My goal is to eliminated try to eat at lease twice a week. A hand full of walnuts. All these food are good to eating, and helps the body fight chonic inflammation.
Thanks for sharing! Your quinoa salad sounds delish!
Yes, it really is. Just don't smother with commercial salad dressing. In fact, I suggest NOT consuming store bought dressing. Make your own. It's so much better. Continued success to you and your channel.
Great video. I usually use the quinoa like rice and put veggies on top...but I am interested in trying that salad idea.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing!
I use it as rice also - prepared (cold) throw it into a bunch of your favorite stir fried veggies - each stir fry varies based on what you want to add into it.
@@jyworthy love this! Thanks for sharing!
New subscriber. Thanks for this video, at least I am on the right track with the list of food
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching and you're welcome!
This is basically my diet and I’m still having hair loss around my edges and on each side of my head the top of my head so what should I do next? I eat everything you mention. Should I eat it every day
Thanks for sharing! As mentioned in the video, nutrition is just one important component. Getting a full diagnosis (hormones, dermatologist, etc.) and a treatment plan are also essential to navigating this process.
Get your iron levels checked make sure you’re not anemic..
Get your vitamin D checked. If low see if you can get prescribed 50,000 plus K2 once a week until you are in range then lower dosage and get checked every six months to make sure your still in range.
Also take magnesium glycinate! It goes along with the vitamin D3 and K2. I take it at night, because it does have a relaxing effect which makes you sleepy and it helps with a good nights sleep!
@@beautifulempress6237 I agree! Thanks for sharing! Magnesium glycinate before bed has been a game-changer for me too!
I tolerate quinoa mixed in brown rice with broth or with Lentil beans
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for some invaluable information
I cook and use quinoa as grits , rice , in place of carbs, in soups, with beans, etc. Never tried it cold. Hmm
Thanks for sharing! Using it in soups is a great tip, especially as we head into the fall season.
I use it as grits too with scrambled eggs and sautéed and/or raw veggies.
Thank you for your channel. I just found out about it and plan to try some of the recipes.
You're welcome! So glad you're here! Let me know how the recipes go!
I love this channel very informative thank you ladies
Thanks for watching! So glad you're here!
If it’s mushy, you’re probably putting to much water. I do 1/4 cup and 1 3/4 cup of water. Perfect. I sometimes add a little olive oil and I sauté onions or shallots, chopped garlic and mix in some grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with cilantro or parsley.
Thanks for the tips!
Quinoa is good in salads
I normally cook a batch of quinoa
I mix some in my oatmeal or I add on top of my greek yoghurt with strawberries and honey with hemp seeds
That sounds good! Thanks for sharing!
Here's a good quinoa recipe. Quinoa, black bean and sweet potato salad, it is great. You can find it online.
Excellent, thanks so much!!
I’ll be sending you recipes soon
This was great, thank you ❤
You're so welcome!
Quinoa with oatmeal sounds interesting. Does the oatmeal mask the taste???
For me it does. It also helps with the texture. 🙂
Thank you for this video. I have been eating those foods for many years... With the exception of Quinoa. However, I do need to up my green intake. I usually have it in smoothies, especially spinach, but I would like to incorporate more of it. Also, thanks for the info concerning dairy. I LOVE dairy, especially cheese. I have heard mixed comments on dairy but your video really clarified it.
Also, if you can give a video on the effects of caffeine that would be great.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you 🙏🏽

I use quinoa in a veggie stir fry.

Research the soy. There is controversy with it. Some people believe it causes breast cancer or if you have a history of breast cancer there is of concern. Since there is such controversy and I have a history in my family, it is not worth the chance for me since still we have no concrete information.
You're correct and thanks for sharing! It's so important that we all exercise our due diligence when navigating our health and wellness!
I use coconut yogurt. Is that a good substitute for Greek yogurt?
I also use unsweetened coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt!
