- Welcome back! Today is a Lexi must see. Watch as I squirm hearing "Let it Go" for the billionth time and Lexi pokes fun at me for my torture! Please pray for my eternal soul! Even a voice as beautiful as Floor's cannot save this one for me... overplayed to the MAX!!!
Caveat of this video: Somehow the video started running away from the audio. Not sure what happened there, but I'll have it fixed for the next video!

LOL! Oh, I loved her take on the song. She did flawlessly. It's just a song I could take about a decade off from hearing and still have small spats of PTSD whenever I hear it again. It's one of THOSE songs to me... no matter how talented the singer is.
Respect Matt, you did it... you took one for the team.... team dads...

About the instrumental part: It seems that Oscar Fläring of Swedish rock band The Fouxes supplies the instrumentation on Floor’s cover
Oh, the instrumentation was great. I'm just not a fan of the song. That's me. I've heard it a billion times and now it forces my eye to twitch. You can see it happen at the beginning before we play the video, as I know full well, this will be painful! LOL
I don't have kids so Floor's version was the first time I've heard it.

Floor sang it for her daughter. So lots of respect for her, she's a AWESOME SINGER and MOM. Besides this, Floor can truly sing all kinds of music styles.
Oh, absolutely! The motivation behind it is awesome! Like Floor, I did this channel with my daughter because she wanted to, as well as did this song because she wanted to. It looks like we both care very much for our kids. But the song, though... ugh! LOL
Disney songs is actually one of Tuomas biggest inspirations for Nightwish. He once described Nightwish as a mix between Metallica and Disney scores. Floor has the perfect voice for this kind of songs.
Absolutely, my man! I can definitely see the influence in their writing style. That's great! I love that they take inspiration from different uncommon genres that you would never think to combine, but synergize so well in the end. I'm just so tired of Let it Go... It's one of those songs that I could just use a giant break from! LOL

Dad i feel your pain! As a parent, we certainly put up with a lot hahaha. I had to suffer thru "The Spice Girl" movie because my then 14 yr old son had a huge crush on "Baby Spice".lol

Floor did this one for all of us, but especially for her daughter Freja. She chose this because her daughter played it over and over and it got stuck in her head. She has promised to do some more covers while the pandemic continues. Some fan has combined this song with the original Disney cartoon and it is very well done. You don't need to watch it. But I think your daughter would enjoy it. See link.

Well Floor did this because her daughter, Freya had her sing it so often she finally had enough and recorded it (LOL). I don't have daughters but I know of your torture as my friends start shaking when this is sung a 100 times by their teen daughters. Now that is the true love of a parent, to take a hit just so their kids can enjoy the moment, well done dad but now you have a metal/rock version by the Valkyrie Queen of Metal to save you!!!!
LOL I try and be a good sport about it, so there's that. This was her doing though, so yeah, I was going to oblige her!
Lexi, you asked who the other voice was...it was Floor as well. She pre recorded different layers and put them together to create one song with them. So Floor is also the backing vocals as well as the main ones.
I had to explain it to her after we recorded, and she said the reason why she said it is because that second layer isn't in the original and it threw her off guard. It just confused her. :)
God help this man it looks like he's heard it 400,000 times.. But Floor nails it.. No problem to her at all.. not even breaking a sweat..

I'll tell you what, the rock elements worked for me. But the song... it's still Let it Go! LOL It's not the singer, it's those words... that melody... that same repetitive thing I've heard for years in our house! It was for Lex, though, so that's enough for me! :p
@@mattlexireactions4313 I get that 😅 I don't have kids, so I didn't have to listen to the song for a million times. I think I've heard it twice, followed by Floor's cover, and I thought "OK... The cover is kinda nice". But listening to that song, especially to the original, for hours, days and months would have driven me nuts 😄 Nice reaction though...

Argh!!!!!! Not that song too!!! That one is almost as bad as Let it Go in our house, just a little less so due to the recency of Frozen 2's release date. I swear, that mouse is going to be the death of me! Death by Disney... a most unfortunate and painful end! LOL!

Oh, I know, don't mind me. As someone would say at the end of a relationship "It's not you it's me", I have to say "it's not Floor, it's the song". There's only so much one can take before you start to get eye twitches like I did at 0:34 . I'm just so done with Let it Go at this point in time. But that's not to say I don't appreciate it. She's amazing, of course, and the reason why she did it is equally as amazing since I, too, do a channel with my baby girl because she wanted to. You do anything for the people you love, and I can respect that!

So incredibly sorry for the long delay in responding. Real life rears its ugly head once again! Yeah, she loved that version even more! She lost it when she saw that one, and now, once again, I've created an environment where I get to hear this song even MORE than before! Good times! :/

Oh, don't think I don't appreciate what I watched. Floor rocks the body that rocks the party! It's the SONG... those words, and that melody that I've heard a billion times over that I can't be bothered with. When you've heard this song as much as I have, there's only so much of it you can tolerate. Think Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. Great song, by a pretty great band... overplayed and if I hear it even slightly start playing, I nope right on out of there. Oversaturation is a thing, and this song can just go away! LOL

Well, you know, some people also just like to come by and rain on everyone's parade. They're probably going "Ugh... another Nightwish/Floor Jansen reaction... THUMBS DOWN" and not even watching the fun Lexi and I are having. That's fine. Whatever floats their boat. They have that freedom! ;)

Yeah, I don't know what happened there. In the description box I mention it. There's some weird issue with our recording set up and the settings must have changed. It'll be addressed in the next video.
I hope this was Floor's last performance of that cover song. I loved her voice but I deeply hate the song. It's so overrated.
Oh, you don't know how much I love this statement! As I said, in a previous reply, it's not Floor. It's the song. She sang it perfectly, had some actual guitar work thrown into the mix, and tried to get it to rock a bit more, but that's like putting a Band-Aid on a severed limb. The song is what it is, and if I never hear it again, it'll be too soon!
