I still love my Z6.
I can understand. The Z6 remains a capable camera and still is fun to use. Also it was announced not so long before the mark II, both cameras have a lot in common.

Hello. You may be aware already, but good to share anyway: 1. Nikon have launched a countdown for May 10, a new product is going to be announced. Highly likely this will be the much expected Nikon Z8. And 2. (and maybe as a consequence) The Nikon Z6 II is currently proposed at 1,699.95 USD. The bargain we were announcing in the video has come true 😀
Detail of specifications has been informed. Nikon should also publish a detailed manual of operation of camera.
My Z6II has served me well, I have thought about upgrading to the Z9 but I can't see it being any better than the Z6II.
Z9 is better for Sports photography really with its much faster 20 Frames per second and 1/32000s shutter speed. For other photography types, it's an interesting debate and Z6 II continues to shine indeed...
I just picked up a refurbished Z6 ll from Nikon , excellent condition !

Seriulsy, if you can't take great photos with any modern mirrorless camera, Nikon Z5 and up, Sony, Canon, OM, Linux, Fuji, then you might wanna change your hobby or profession! All tihs stuff is so ridecelous.
You can't go wrong with any of these brands indeed. There is so much technology now packed in the modern cameras, the creative possibilities are endless and it's hard to miss a shot...
Facts
If you don't shoot sports and fast moving wildlife, then stick with the Z6II as it covers most grounds quite good actually
And now the Z8 is out, the Z6 II is discounted as expected: 1699 $. Looks very attractive indeed...

its still about time for the z6iii as the 2 6expeed processors are now old. it might be a good time to buy a z6ii but the iii must be around the corner so I'll rather wait or go with Sony

I bought my Z6ii last year but now the Z6iii is coming out😬Z6ii is really good, but I'd wait at this point if I didn't already have it. I'm not unhappy with it, far from it, but the new tech would be a jump up.

There are lot of rumours of a Z6/Z7 III, and of a Z8 too... The future will tell... On my side, I would love to see the sensor shift technology embarked on the next Z cameras for high resolution images...
The Nikon Z6 ii has dropped to 1499 euros! What do you think? Is it worth it? Taking into account that a camera is going to accompany us for at least the next decade while Panasonic S5II with the L mount is out there at 2.200 euros body, and Sony A7 IV at 2700 euros? The L mount has few so few lenses and the taxes are devastating. But the price for the same quality is comperable to E mount.. at least in Europe. So what do you think? Nikon Z6ii at 1500 for the next decade or it is NOT that future proof ???
Hi George, thank you for spotting this price drop to 1,499 euros! Lucky you, that same camera is still at 1,949 euros in my country... At this price, an amazing bargain indeed.
Interesting your question whether the camera is future proof for the coming years... In the coming period, we will see more and more cameras adopting artificial intelligence and machine learning, and 40-60 megapixels resolution will become the new norm. The result will be improved autofocus, new functionalities to shoot easily images hard to achieve so far (see Pro-Capture on new Z8, electronic ND filters on Olympus OM-1, pixel binning, etc) and probably less need to edit pictures.
The Z6 II will probably not embark those new functionalities in the future, but you know exactly what you are paying for with the Z6II: it is so versatile and excellent camera (together with the fantastic Nikkor Z lenses that are already available)...
So if you are ready to invest in a new camera and accept that there will always be a better model next, then yes go for it, enjoy and don't look back.
@@FabulousPepper thanks for the reply...good to know we are heading into that...ominous future... No I do NOT want AI to interact with anything that I do in a clever way... I need dump ineractions like auto brightness and even that I do change it. AI is almost a must for a FF sensor of 45+ MP. But no thanks. I was thinking about the potentials of the Panasonic. You see it's just like the smart phones. We've come to a point where my Samsung A52 has a powerful enough SoC to keep up with 4 years of updates. It is slower than my new S23 but we are talking about seconds to miliseconds. The same goes with cameras to some extent. If a camera has some basic good capabilities like 4K (60p maybe) no crop, 10 bit color a good IBIS (no R8, 2000 euros sorry Canon!!) and an acceptable lock on faces and scenes even in low light I think you can invest in lenses. I got a Nikon D5500. And unfortunately I can't invest. I need a powerful yet not that expensive body that it's worth the lenses and in the future you have to go pixel picking to see the difference in picture quality. Today Panasonic is my choice but I'm waiting for a price drop from 2200 euros or for Nikon Z6 iii to shine but I'm afraid it will cost close to 3000 euros.
Z6ii may not be the best camera for wildlife and sports (although still can work to a degree using wide area AF). However for everything else the camera is fabulous in portraits, landscape and product photos and video. While the z6iii is coming likely summer of 2024 according to rumors, the z6ii will still cost a lot less (likely 500 less), and for bargain hunters this will be a fine camera, which is already discounted for the December 2023 holiday season.

My uncle Ned said that it’s the cameras fault if you can’t take a decent photo. The camera should lead you to the picture through advanced auto focus! My Ned knows his stuff as you all know!

The real bargain is the og z6 if you are okay with single card slot.
There was a video that says the same as you do, provided you can live for one single card slot and somewhat slower processor the mark I remains a very solid proposal.

Am also a nikon z6 2 user it was good in quality having a punchy colors and improved autofocus. System but..... Not like Sony and canon.... It was struggling to focus a subject behind the foreground..... And in this price range they didn't gave bird eye autofocus ... It was very disappointing.... 90% animal eye focus is not working this one is disgusting
Thank you for your testimony. Did you install the many firmware updates that improved focus? Did the problems still persist after?
Yes I have upgraded to latest firmware version 1.50 still same main thing nikon didn't have bird eye focus am a bird photographer so this is very disappointing me🤧 even a73 having that feature

But the problem with the Z6ii in 2023 it’s focus and tracking hasn’t improved with firm ware updates and for the same money a used Sony A7 IV is a much better investment with great bird focus any tracking.

Hi, yes. Since the video was published, the number of updates has grown from 8 to 12 (11 software + 1 firmware). It is a really good change from camera makers that they keep releasing updates long after a product was released. You can find them all here for Nikon Z 6 II:
