@@christiangidlow Definitely! I used to be a canon shooter but kind of slipped on a banna in to Sony once and have stayed here sine then :) But its really interesting hearing how different brands develop!
7:11 I had the same issue when I shot with the Nikon Z5 and the Zf. I no longer have the Z5, but I purchased a new eyecup for my Zf, because I wear glasses and need better coverage for the viewfinder. There are better eyecups for your Z6II to consider buying to prevent pressing against your eye too harshly. Great video.
Nice review! I recently got a Nikon Zf and I'm looking to aquire a second backup body, that's affordable and takes my Z mount lenses. Honestly, I’m leaning towards the Nikon Z5, but with the recent price drops the Z6ii is not much more and is appealing also. Nearly everyone I've spoken to who actually owns a Z6ii (or Z5), LOVES it. I love my Zf, but I want something that will act as a more ergonomic and compact backup, with similar menus. I shoot portraits and headshots and an occasional family session or engagement. No events, sports or wildlife. I don't need speed, and I don’t plan on doing video with this backup. I played with a Z5 and a Z6ii in the camera store recently and they both felt really nimble and great to use. In use, I couldn’t really tell much difference between the Z5 and Z6ii. Both really nice. Would you recommend the Z6ii as a backup to my Zf?
I got my Z9 (with 3000 clicks) last month for a half price deal with FTZ1 and F mount lenses. I absolutely love it, it is heavier but super fast and super sharp even with my F lenses I got with. I trying to get a 24-120mm f4 S lens, for landscape and city scape fotos, but I'm super happy with my F mount lenses too. I was switching from D610 and D750 to Z9, and for the price I got it it is absolutely amazing!
Thanks for a great review on Z6ii. I own a Z5 but may upgrade to Z6ii or Z6iii and sell Z5. I also own the D780 which has the Z6 sensor inside with PDAF. The D780 works great for video on tripod which I do with macro. For handheld and all other the mirrorless has 5 axis with my Z5 which also has 2 SD slots, but has a slower fps. All in all I like the Z5, but I may upgrade to Z6ii or the new Z6iii when it comes out this year. I like the features of Z6ii with top LED, dual processing, so I might trade up eventually. Anyway your video helped. Cheers!
okey man, the Z5 is also a great camera I think. In my opinion is upgrading to Z6 ii only necessary if you want more FPS and maybe over all a more robust and professional camera if you want to shoot sport, wedding and so on. Other wise for landscape and macro I think the Z5 is more than enough. Glad I could help you :D
Thank you 🙏🏻 I would to answer you, but I have tried to look in the camera I can. But I can’t find it and have no clue if I can or if I can’t 😂 just search the web and some more knowledge will give you the right answer 😀
You are coming from a D750 which were UHS-1 the Z6-2 UHS-2 with 2 rows of pins so your old cards could keep up for the 4K. For faster 4k 60p you need cf express
Not true. Canon R6 II has dual UHS-2 slots and better video specs. My Z6 II is great, but CF Express is overkill for recording. Where it shines is much faster transfer speeds when processing photos, which is great for high volume photographers.
Hi Christian, thanks for the review. I own a D750 and I'm about to purchase the Z6ii. How did you feel about having no flash? Did you buy a flash or it's ok to start without one (I've never used an external flash before)? thx
Hello! the D750 where m go to camera before as I probably mention. And I think it's well worth the upgrade! I did own a of camera flash before I upgraded, so never had to think about it like you do. But my opinon is that you don't need a on camera flash, it's way more worth buying a cheap of camera flash and start to test the world of flash photography. So I think you should go for the camera and later buy a cheaper flash and start testing :D
Thanks for the tip, didn’t know you could change it actually 😂 it truly is, but it helps in some situations to have 45 mp. But it’s not necessary to be and do professional work! At least I don’t think so 😊
Around 3:10 They are absolutely NOT finally catching up with other brands regarding autofocus and tracking on the Z6II. Try one of the other brands from the Z6II time and you will be amazed.
Im not sure what you mean exactly? I have always heard and had the feeling that Nikon has been behind. You have hade great autofocus on canon and Sony for a few years in video mode, but not in Nikon. But with the Z System they are almost there, we are though talking about maybe Mille second different in aoutfocus compare to other brands. But still 😊
@@christiangidlow Just read. 1. Z6II does not do a great job of focus and tracking compared to the others. That's what I said and mean. Opposite of what you said. 2. I am not talking about video or photo specifically. 3. It is not about milliseconds, it's more like seconds, or not even focussing and tracking at all on the Z6II. 4. Great video Christian! Don't know that much about Nikon cameras so was interesting hearing about the Z6!✌

You do! Did not know I could by any thing like that. Thank you so much for the tip 😀
I was going to comment the same thing. First thing I purchased for my Z6ii was a better eyecup. Under 20$ on amazon
Nikon always has had great image quality
True that! I have always use Nikon and been satisfied 👊🏻

So glad it was helpful! That’s my intention with the video 😀👍🏻
The biggest improvement : the out-of-focus
JK bro, nice video! Looking to buy one to replace my D7000
Keep the good videos coming, best of luck!

I have never had an issue with the eye cup, but I do know you can get different ones for them, and 24mp is more then enough

Does it film in slowmotion?
You can film 120 fps in 1080p. So yeah! Wish it did it in 4K though 😁
Great video. I also own a Z6ii but focusing birds in flight it's an issue, so I'll trade in for a Z8 soon.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 yeah I can imagine that, I’m longing to get the Z8 soon as well. Beter in focus and also to do n-log straight in to the camera 😀
