In this New Challenge i had the opportunity to try out the Zip-to-it Zipcaster Challenge. A True Spiderman experience in this Splatoon 3 Challenge mode. Not my overall favourite but a still fun challenge in Splatoon 3.

The word Dude was looking for about the center post in Manta Maria is "Mast". It's the part of the ship that supports the sail.
That Zipcaster Challenge was so much fun. This challenge is definitely up there with the High Jump Challenge in terms of enjoyment it was just silly zipping everywhere!

I really hope we get a version of this challenge for wave breakers. Could make it feel like that one stage in story mode with tons of waves (especially if they upped the wave breaker health for the mode)
they should call it dance dance revolution lmfao
They should have made it so everyone was permanently in Zipcaster mode tbh, it would have made this challenge so much more fun

Zipcaster is a much weaker special than something like the trizooka we had in the last challenge, so if you try to spam it recklessly it's likely to just get you killed. With trizooka you had to hang back and wait for people to use their specials before its safe, but here you can punish Zipcaster users pretty easily most the time.
Also next time I play this challenge, I'm gonna do the strat where you jump off the map mid-fight and then pop zip to jump back on the stage, lol
it was weird. i felt like i won more often when i didnt use zipcaster at all. i literally used it once in one match to refill my inktank, not to actually zip, lol
yea. as a duelie i didnt use it as much
I feel that, I only used it when my team needed a jump point and when I needed an immediate ink refill. It felt really useful to have an emergency ink refill and a safe spot for my team to jump to while I put pressure on the zone.
I feel like clam blitz would've been the best as an incentive for using the zip caster to it's fullest potential.
You can't throw clams if you're using Zipcaster, though.
I'm gonna say Rainmaker would be another good option.
Zones might've not been the best pick for this challenge. Something that would've encouraged zipping all over the place, not just mid, would've probably made it more interesting.
Literally any other mode would’ve been better, like my goodness
@@DeltaTriedClambo Blambo would also have been pretty bad, especially since a lot of people who don’t use Zipcaster might not know that you can’t throw clams during it
Not only was zones a fantastic choice, but the map with the giant boat masts in the middle made things even better. A complete sh*tshow, and I mean that in the best possible way.
@@lw1391 i think undertow or mincemeat, in spite of how shitty they are, provide much more space for someone to zip to, and they couldve made it like rainmaker instead of zones, since rain could incentivise trying to dive at the rain carrier with zip to stop a push

For me, Spider-man simulator was the most fun challenge yet!
I played only 2 games last night. I quickly realized:
1. I don't play with this special (at all tbh) to use effectively esp for Zones on Manta Maria, and
2. I played WAY better lying in wait for zip happy players to swing by/take down
IMO other maps/modes might've been a better fit for this challenge. Too many Reefsliders otoh would've been pretty awesome 😂

While playing I found the best strat with the luna was the just play normally and one shot all the zips that come at you and only using zipcaster when you need to escape or get to an opponent quickly.
This challenge should be unlimited zipcaster so you stay in zipcaster until you die or even zipcaster on every weaponlike E-liter zipcaster
I don't know if it was a programming thing, but it should have been more like the Zipcaster levels in single player. Basically, no charging required, you have access to it at all times (at the expense of being able to use sub weapons). So much time was spent being recalled, or camping recall positions. That's my take on it, at least.

I think the optimal way to play this mode is to play stamper, focus entirely on painting zone and keeping people off it with verticals, and then use zip as an ink refill only

@@No-uk9me yeah, it is lame, but its optimal, like those triple splash/machine metas where such team comps were optimal to win but not fun to watch or play
Manta Maria was such a perfect map for this challenge
I kinda wish they’d used Museum for the 2nd map instead of Hagglefish; so many more zipcastable spots
i played this for 13 matches and used 0 zipcasters and just spammed suction bombs and painted the zone lol

i didnt want the brush roll jump to fail by sticking in enemy ink during it and was aware i could embarrass myself in yt, glad to see this haha
the game could have ended good; my double suction build would have been a safe zone flip here, but, alas, mashing ZR was the play as it could have possibly reset the overtime timer

7:50 Think the missing paper outta your analogy might have been the tetra dualies, as they have the (relative) range and mobility to stay safe from zips and punish missed shots… That said, I was playing with quite a bit less power during this (about 1500-1600 power in my lobbies) so I’m not sure how it holds up at your power
In my opinion, it’s probably one of my favourite challenges. For me I personally found splatana stamper really fun for it
I have never played this yet until around 3-4 hours mines will start but wowww that’s alot chaos. and dude fist bump?? WOWWW
Zipcaster challenge made me cry in my first game I got put against quad octobrush. However it was very fun.
honestly im just hoping that they make it so that ink saver sub applies to zipcaster hook and they should make it so you can squidroll after zipping to the ground and also increase the range of the hook because sometimes you end up trying to zip to something but missing because you arent close enough

Rainmaker : Would be too easy to stop the rainmaker and someone would have to give up their zipcaster to carry it
Tower control : Someone would have to stay in one place and not really use zipcaster, and it would also be a bit easy to get people off the tower
Clam blitz : You can’t throw clams in zipcaster and you could also superjump to people using zipcaster to cheese clams scores
The only mode that would work better imo, is turf war, but I don’t think turf war is a great mode just in general
Splatoon 3: Beyond the Zip-Verse
Loved the challenge, just wished we could've had infinite zipcasting that keeps your special active. Would've loved to just zoom around the map
I was really upset that I wasn't able to play this because all the times were impossible in my region and scheduel, first rotation was at 11pm, second was at 11am to 1pm (I was at school), and third was at 3pm to 5pm (was having after school activity)
I really hope they can make this mode like SR in S3 were you can always play it, it just has different rotations

Luna is one of my main weapons and I had a blast! Also, your forgotten word was "mast".
I think a Zip Vs Crab special would be fun, one team is on "defense" and the other is on "offense"
my strategy in this mode was to use my zipcaster as a free ink tank refill and paint zone as much as possible, but the mode was super fun so I got rowdy with my zip when needed bahaha (played slosher and tetras mostly as Ive never played either before!)
The Zipcaster Challenge was awesome. And I wish the same thing to have these challenges last for 4 hours or more and I would appreciated more if the communication error didn’t occurred that many times to ruin my score either.
this challenge made me realise i actually like using angle shooter (i played a bit of slosher deco for it). i probably wouldn’t have tried it otherwise. angle + slosh combo kills are so satisfying ❤
Missed the challenge because I didn't realize it was one rotation earlier than the past several ones... I feel like it would be a lot cooler if everyone was permanently in zip like those few singleplayer levels and you could use any weapon. For the sub weapons they could probably just move zip to A/L as long as it isn't clam

I wish it was playing the superhero song from the zipcaster stages in single player during all the matches.
My winrate in this challenge skyrocketed the second I stopped Zipcasting and just sharked and killed people who Zipcasted

I feel like this mode would be better if all weapons just got zip, also zones was the WORSE mode they could’ve chosen as it encourages people to play Octobrush, as it’s the best for painting zone (also since it’s the easiest to play).
Idk why but when i saw this challenge i thought we were gonna have zipcaster active for the ENTIRE game and not just the special gauge charging up faster
I had fun, but I kept getting matched with other luna players, and as you said, two lunas on zones for either of these stages is...not good lol
As that one vCarbon main, using zip definitely will get ya killed more times than not. I’ve found it better to not zip and just play as a carbon without a special. Go for the recalls + flanks and carbon go brr.

half the time i wouldnt even use zipcaster in the challenge since winning the object it was better for me on dualies to just dart around and also i want to keep my sprinklers up for splatzone.
however those rollers. man they could wreck people. the range of them was ridiciously and if they zipped behind you , you were dead. so i admit this is different for different weapons.

Honestly, I was not using the Zipcaster that much. I mainly left it to my teammates, only really using it to reach the higher spots. Ninja Squid served me well ;)

My strat was just to not use zip and let people come to me to die. Only zip for flanks and to get out of danger.
This was fun until I was forced to remember sword and brush existed
It was more fun than zookas. I hate dying on the otherside of the map because of 3 hail mary zooka shots. At least with zip everything is a scrappy skirmish

I didn’t particularly like this challenge. Hagglefish market was horrendous for this challenge because I could consistently NOT use the zipcaster at all and still get the most splatters in a match from just sharking and tossing bombs. Manta Maria was a much better stage.
I liked the challenge but I don’t think zones was the best mode for it. Maybe clams or tower would be better

This challenge is pretty alright, i unfortunately use carbon most of the time just to give an sorry excuse to 4 star it
I won a lot more using respawn punish and brush
yeah, i think this challenge has potential but splatzones ain't it, rainmaker is probably the better mode for this? also yeah, there's no backliner zipcaster so no one had a real target to go after.
The timeslots are stupid. My first day of school made me miss this.

I honestly hate how the challenges are time sensitive. I have only played like 3 individual battles throughout all the challenge history. It's just not a fun addition. The game modes seem cool, wish they just rotated like other modes.
This Challenge made me hate the ship map even more😅
Personally this challenge was pretty bad to me. Zones is a terrible mode for this (although I don’t know what would be better), and had more fun not using zipcaster at all as it made it easier to get kills
I really didnt enjoy this challenge, unlike the trizooka one this special is jusy more difficult to use comparitively and to get the hang of. I actually spent most of my matches only using it when i needed to refuel my ink, i really wasn't into it. Maybe if it was for clam blitz it would hsve s wider range of use as well, it was just centered on one area and didnt make use of the actual special.

I’ll catch it again some time soon, whenever my internet isn’t busted, and running on a phone’s hotspot (for nearly two weeks straight…), but other than that, the zipcaster challenge looks like a LOT of fun! And I even sorta called it with the challenge’s name in the past too in the past!
