I think so many of us get this feeling but we know deep down that there is some element of modern society that is profoundly sick. I think the truth is that we do not want to be alone but we also no longer want to bathe in the sickness. The answer is to address the problems in social structure; to not assume that all in the past is obsolete. There are some things that have been forgotten that should not have been forgotten.
One of the reasons why I enjoy Heilung is because, unlike most of what we see in depictions of old Germanic religion today, they do have a healthy balance between the masculine and the feminine in their music and imagery. Nowadays the Heathen world is dominated by images of big, strong and sweaty men, sword-wielders, axe-grinders, and shield-brothers. We get so much emphasis on gods like Odin and Thor, yet what about all the others? What of the mother and the celebration of fertility? What of the concept of life-bearing and rebirth? What of Frigg, Freyja, and the seeress'? Heilung has been using a lot of imagery, even in this "music video" that depicts the more feminine side of Heathen culture, using Maria as a focal point, as well as the images around her of the spread eagle women holding open their, well, happy places. I enjoy this. As much as I admire the strength-promoting, hero-worshiping and war-going concepts in old Germanic heathenry, I also can appreciate that other half of it that makes a healthy society possible: the mother and the celebration of her fertility. It's something both me and my wife can admire when we think back to our forefathers' and where we come from.
Unfortunately what we had of the stories of Freya, Frigg, Helja, et al, all were lost in the christian conversion. One can only hope some family saved the stories and we simply haven't seen them yet. I would love to have descriptions of galdr and sieđr both as well!
In many elder cultures, from old Pacific Islander Cultures and Shinto to The old Nordic and Celtic, Faiths... women were part of the balance and many held positions of high regard. The concept of a "Wise Woman" is not new, and women represent a vital part of the cycle of life. As christianity and islam are cultures dominated by misogyny and patriarchy, they would try to minimize and subjugate women.

Maria is singing something like: Fé, wealth is a source of discord among kinsmen; the wolf lives in the forest. Úr, dross comes from bad iron; the reindeer often races over the frozen snow. Þurs, giant causes anguish to women; misfortune makes few men cheerful. Óss, estuary is the way of most journeys; but a scabbard is of swords. Reið, riding is said to be the worst thing for horses; Reginn forged the finest sword. Kaun, ulcer is fatal to children; death makes a corpse pale. Hagall, hail is the coldest of grain; Christ created the world of old. Nauðr, constraint gives scant choice; a naked man is chilled by the frost. Isa, ice we call the broad bridge; the blind man must be led. Ar, plenty is a boon to men; I say that Frodi was generous. Sol, sun is the light of the world; I bow to the divine decree. Tyr, Tyr is a one-handed god; often has the smith to blow. Bjarkan, birch has the greenest leaves of any shrub; Loki was fortunate in his deceit. Maðr, man is an augmentation of the dust;great is the claw of the hawk. Lógr, a waterfall is a River which falls from a mountain-side; but ornaments are of gold. Ýr, yew is the greenest of trees in winter; it is wont to crackle when it burns.

I heard it live in DR koncerthuset in Denmark. This reminds me of the most beautiful performance/concert in my entire life. It still gives med tears in my eyes.
It was a fantastic concert, probably the best i've been to in my life and i've been wanting to listen to this song again since, such a magical song, Marias fantastic voice completes the trance.
I went to that show as well. It was the best concert I've ever been to. Heilung brings emotions within me to life like no other music can. It feels a lot like the music reminds me of a past life that I just cant fully remember... It a hard feeling to describe.
This is my favorite group, the music is the sounds souls should make, the sound they used to make when the forest and the field and the coast were our homes.
This album promises to be quite different from your first one, but at the same time, it is the same essence. Futha is supposed to be female sound and I am very excited for it. Looking forward to the 28th June!
Every now and then I get this urge to go into the woods and just, lie down in a stream and let the cold water rush over me, and look up to the sky and trees and feel at peace. This song is that feeling.

We watched you in a circus in Lviv It was incredible, but one should dance along to feel your music to its deepest. Love you, Heilung. Thanks for coming. Nature be with you!

Practicing shamanism myself, I recognized much in Heilung's music the first moment I heard it. I know it reminds many of us of experiences that we've had over many lifetimes. Thank you Heilung for your beautiful and wonderous gift! Oh...and Maria is a GODDESS!

Allfather, whoever hears this and not instantly preorders the album has lost all of his feral soul. Maria's voice is just like a lightalb sitting on a branch of yggdrasil, singing to call all the animals of every world to dance under the light of the full moon. this is still the essence of heilung if not even purer than ever before! just listening to it makes you feel the pain and sorrow of midgard and lets it fade away at the same time.
The harmony of throat singing and Maria's insanely beautiful voice. This is exactly what we need to combat the domination of silly little pop songs that have no meaning, no soul.
Generic modern pop is like fastfood, you just consume it. Its just another simple product put forward for masses to consume. I like variation and listen to many genres so long as i like it but i reckon its not fair to consider such horrible stuff as music. I mean just watch any nicki minaj video then watch this or even slipknot, yea even slipknot is much better than generic modern pop because at least it appeals to real emotions and actually contain soul to some degree.
You know. When I listen to music like this.I don't know if it's supposed to have a positive affect on people, but on me it has a sorta negative one in a good way. It puts me in a time way before now when time was simple but hard living. Today's society sucks compared to ages ago and wish it was like before. Great music keep it up.
This song is sheer divinity singing itself! I am enrolled in a Creative Writing course here, in which I was asked to write a "Descriptive scene" as my assignment. It was a piece insoired by this song and it goes as follows- Under the Yggdrasil, by Krimson Ravyn On my first day of what was going to be a week long quest, I saw a lake. It's water were a deep shade of dusky-blue just as the sky above. In the heart of the lake was an impenetrable big hard rock, on which stood the mighty Yggdrasil- the tree of life. Yggdrasil had a very thick trunk. Its branches disappeared into the sky while its roots merged into the water of the lake, as if connecting and weaving the sky, Earth, and underworld together. Three beautiful ladies, all dressed in brown robes were standing at the bottom of this sky hugging tree. They were called the Norns, the goddesses who watched over the fate of humans. All three of them- Urd, Verdandhi, and Skuld, revolved around the trunk of the tree, their hands on the bark, as if listening to the heart beat of the world through the tree that held it all together. Each step they took was measured, choreographed. As their fingertips traced the trunk of the tree, magic happened and colorful symbols would emerge, etched on the tree. These were Runes. There was Fehu, Uruz, Thurisaz, and many more- all of them glowing in different color, symbolizing a different aspect of mortal life. Every time one of these runes would emerge, a star in the sky would respond in the midst of the falling twilight, or the birds would fly to their home, or an animal would appear out from the thick of the forest to watch the Norns dance. It was as if the entire nature and cosmos was responding to the call of these three goddesses, who looked just like any other women you would meet on a street, but they were not. They were the norns. And in the language of runes, they wrote the fate and destiny of all the children of Earth on the bark of the tree of life. And they danced and revolved around the Yggdrasil as they did it. Their fate was to write other people's fate, although they were not bound by it. They acted from wisdom, unlike other mortals. For more write-ups by me: Follow my channel. :)

Dan Jones They live up to their name. I don't speak German, but I know "Heilung" translates to "healing," and that is exactly what their music does for me. It's been there for me through some very very dark times.
wait what? this album's gonna release 28.06.?
oh my damn, this can't be a coincidence, I'm going to be 28 years old at that date successfully living through the 27 club.
HOLY SHIT THATS TODAY
The release of the album is on my birthday, the perfect gift. Thanks Heilung!

The words, I think, are not here to be heard by the ears, or understood to by the mind - but to be felt by the soul.
The ears and the mind are merely the conveyors to the soul.
That is what Heilung is for me.
I love any indigenous culture anywhere on the planet. From Brazil's to Africa, to skimos, to Europe and Oceania. It reassures me that I'm human. It is actually my last hope that it has any meaning to be one.
My blood

Really really old school.
And quite frankly we need this these days.
what kidn of Oldschool you mean? If theres Oldschool musik like this pls tell me. of course there is Wardruna and forndrom usw but if you know something let me now!
"really really old school" is putting it mildly haha
@@nicsdom6675 Danheim is the same genre and also bloody good!
Futha will be album of the year, mark my words!
definitely
Tool's new album will be out this year ^^
@@damienfondacci674 ...and last year, and the year before, and the year before that....
Even though i love Heilung. I guess no one will top the new Rammstein album.
@@Anduriel7 Rammstein and Heilung are completely different types of music, so I don't know if that count (I don't speak english natively so excuse me if you don't understand)
The song awakens a force in me that I can only explain as "ancient" thank you Heilung again for these amazing songs
I listen to a lot of music like this but this band manages to do something special that really calls out to my Germanic roots.
This song makes me cry! So beautiful!
I love this song. It makes me feel connected to the old world. It's so primal and raw and I appreciate their work so much.
I love the old Norwegian rune poems and hearing theme sung like this is fantastic.
A deeply ritualistic song, a spiritual sing with nature. Heilung only knows how to make precious magical aura. The art of video takes me back to the Iberian drawings, they have a captivating personality.
Heilung is healing us and earth... one album at a time. Great track. Thank you Maria, Chris, and Kai. Skål.
Heilung = Healing, translated from german to english ;-)

focus on it, your ancestors are calling you through this..your soul remembers it
I heard it live in DR koncerthuset in Denmark. This reminds me of the most beautiful performance/concert in my entire life. It still gives med tears in my eyes.
It was a fantastic concert, probably the best i've been to in my life and i've been wanting to listen to this song again since, such a magical song, Marias fantastic voice completes the trance.
I had videos I recorded of that performance and haven't been able to listen to it in any other way, until now finally 👌🏼
I was also there. One of the best concerts that I have been to. I'm looking forward to hear and see them again this year at Copenhell!
I went to that show as well. It was the best concert I've ever been to. Heilung brings emotions within me to life like no other music can. It feels a lot like the music reminds me of a past life that I just cant fully remember... It a hard feeling to describe.
Jeps. Det var en sindsyg oplevelse.
Glæder mig til at se dem live igen.
i can feel a very deep connection.
❤Thank you for another Masterpiece!

I'm in love with this one now beautiful 😍 and I'm native American thank you for these beautiful songs.
From USA New Mexico 😁
I think the indigenous should have their own resurgence too.
It's got a little Indigenous vibe, I think.
After being a Pagan for many, many years...finally a band has nailed what stirs in the heart...
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
I know, right! I have never been so excited for an album launch before this.
Every now and then I get this urge to go into the woods and just, lie down in a stream and let the cold water rush over me, and look up to the sky and trees and feel at peace. This song is that feeling.
Listening to this in complete darkness with my eyes shut, not moving.
When the song's over feels like I'm reborn.
If you love Heilung, you must see them alive. It was the best concert I visited and I want to see them again, at a festival this time. We watched you in a circus in Lviv
It was incredible, but one should dance along to feel your music to its deepest.
Love you, Heilung. Thanks for coming. Nature be with you!
Her vocals are just amazing!
Heilung touches the soul in such a way that I can’t describe, the vocals smooth both the mind and the spirit!
I just got goosebumps hearing this for the first time. i'm psyched for the new album and show!
FunnyGoat I've heard it at least 10 times and I still get goosebumps!
Amid all the dissolution, deceit, depravity and despair of our modern degenerate age, this music is strength to the spirit and steel to the will.
Hail Mighty Woden! Hail our Folk!
Can’t get over how beautiful this is! I so hope they come to America soon! Much love!! 😍😍💜💜💜
Courtney Taylor they will be! They confirmed a couple weeks ago! I’m so excited and I hope to gods that I can get time off work to go to one of their rituals!
Klover 1998 oh I know they confirmed it I’m one of there fan based on Facebook! I just hope it will be close to me. And I gotta fine someone to go with because my friends and boyfriend don’t like them and think I’m crazy and obviously I don’t wanna go by myself haha
Courtney Taylor if they go near Colorado and you’re there you best be expecting me to be there! I would travel four states over to see them honestly!
Klover 1998 haha well the thing is I don’t drive so that would be the problem so I’m trying to get a friend to go with and I pay everything and such I live in Indiana so many
If you get touched by their art, their magic, there is nothing more to say.. Tune in to the level and fly with us all..
Gods this is beautiful
The world is so old, and we exist the same time as this beautiful piece of art. Restores my faith in humanity.
What a beautiful song. I realy love this type of music. Keep up the great work Heilung!
I've listened to this song about 50 times in the last 2 days. I just bought tickets to the Atlanta show. So excited!
Never get tired of this track. Thank you Heilung , you healing in more ways than I can count.❤
I think this WHOLE SONG is an archetype. There's something ancient about it that connects to us all.
These voices heal me and I don't even understand the language. 💕
I swear everytime I sing along to this, I feel the wind at my back and the moon shine down.
The feeling of greatness upon you.
I just want to understand why does someone put a dislike in a piece of art like this.
comment from a bygone era
Flying from Texas to New York to witness and absorb the spirituality and energy of Heilung. Words cannot describe how eager i am for this
My soul needed this. Thank you, Heilung, for sharing your magic with the world.
This is so absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this to us!!🇳🇴🇩🇰🇳🇴🇩🇰🇳🇴🇩🇰
Just realized this album comes out on my birthday.
Thank you Heilung for this wonderful gift!
My birthday too
Don't understand the language, And don't even need to.
The music speaks to your inner soul! 😊
I cant even describe to you how excited I am for the new album! What a way to start the day, by having this pop up on my feed. Beautiful! Maria's voice is one of those that makes you stop whatever you are doing and pay attention. I love Heilung!
You made me cry with music only. I have no words. You guys have become something special in my life. When I see you in Warsaw this autumn I am sure I will cry again.
Celestial.Moving.Haunting.Monolithic. Completely uplifting in every aspect. Heilung is godlike.
Amazing track and I cannot wait for the rest of this album⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You will quickly change your opinion I'm sure. 😏
Put simply, I love this band! They have quickly become one of my two favorite bands of all time, (the other being TOOL). Like TOOL, Heilung's music touches me in a very deep way. Practicing shamanism myself, I recognized much in Heilung's music the first moment I heard it. I know it reminds many of us of experiences that we've had over many lifetimes. Thank you Heilung for your beautiful and wonderous gift! Oh...and Maria is a GODDESS!
she has the magic to send you back in time I love her
When the combination of my ears, mouth and brain can’t translate the words, it helps me understand what my heart and soul are for.
My beard grew its own beard while I listened to this.

Wish I had a beard
I wish I could show this comment to my brother right now, we'd be howling at this lol
After reading like 200 comments I feel safe saying that very few Americans have been here... at least in the comments (shoutouts). I love Heilung! I understand none of the words, but the music speaks to me on a whole other level. I agree with most that June could not come sooner! Greetings from America.
This song is... i have no words for it, may the gods tell...
Man this takes you back.
Beautiful...can't wait to listen someday to the Live Version.
I so hope they come to America at some point. I would love to see their stage show. It's as impressive as the music.
So calming so relaxing . Always get a forest spirit vibe from this band
I love this. I’m not sure why but this kind of music is really getting to me . I’ve always liked everything mostly. I haven’t listened to Radio in years. I can’t imagine what it’s like now.
I’m 34 and just got into this, the look and videos are always amazing I don’t understand what she’s saying.
I’m sure I’d agree!
There aren’t many bands I would travel to different states to see but if they hit the US I would go wherever nearest just to experience it live.
I'd be willing to book a trip to Europe just to see them!
Well you will get the chance this year they are going to tour the US amongst others under a world tour starting late June.
Omg...I've been wondering when our souls would be graced with their spirit again, I still get chills from watching their live performance videos.
I hope they still have long songs on their new album...I pray to the gods they come near my area, no way I'm missing it, I don't care if I have to drive 5 or 6 hours away.
I'm so happy that this channel like Heilung too, they are so great, I'm a huge fan of Them, the way they use their instruments with bones, THAT'S SO COOOLLLL, THANK YOU FOR GIVE US THE CHANCE TO LISTEN TO THEM.
pretty sure this is the channel of the publisher of the album, so I'd presume that they like it
Allfather, whoever hears this and not instantly preorders the album has lost all of his feral soul.
Skål, sons of Odin! ...regards from Sparta, Greece
Heil the gods of our ancestors!
Lemminkäinen says kippis! From Finland
Its waves of bliss that pour over your body is why I like this band so much
The harmony of throat singing and Maria's insanely beautiful voice. This is exactly what we need to combat the domination of silly little pop songs that have no meaning, no soul.
What are pop songs? They don't exist in my world! Not with HEILUNG!!!! 💪
It was a piece insoired by this song and it goes as follows-
Under the Yggdrasil, by Krimson Ravyn
On my first day of what was going to be a week long quest, I saw a lake.
