Hi 👋 Thanks for watching this video! What do you think of this type of video? Let me know what kind of watch videos you’d like to see us do next! ✌🏻 Do subscribe and like the video, it really does help us create more videos like this. 👍
I bought one of these in early 2000s after buying a Submariner in 1996 and a Daytona in 1999. Why this Yacht Master did not take off in value escapes me but I think it may be due to it's market position relative to the other Rolex models. Men often buy a Submariner as their first Rolex, and once they have done that, they start looking at other Rolex models and at that point the Yacht Master gets overlooked. This model was one of the first to have solid links, some heft due to the Platinum, and some bling due to the polished body. It has the body of a Daytona and the movement of a Submariner. The Lums on it are awesome. When you own one you say to yourself, "Crap, this thing is just really cool!" When you go to a party, it is a great conversation piece. This watch is every bit as good as the newer ones Rolex has released, in my opinion. Get a Yacht-Master!!
Been wanting on for 4/5 years still working for it but without counting a Daytona it’s my favorite Rolex. Just love the color of the dial in platinum 😊😊
I saw from another channel explaining that the yatchmaster was supposed to be the next submariner but then they decided to create another watch model lineup. Thus, the yatchmaster was born. 😊 Been a fan ever since. Hopefully I can own one someday.
I honestly agree! If you look at the design language and the similarities between the 2 models compared side by side, you can tell so. Do subscribe to the channel as I will be sharing a 1 to 1 comparison in an upcoming video! :)
its not 100% platinum, its a mix of platinum and their rolex steel. It can be done but you have to find someone who knows what they are doing. I think you can send back in to rolex as well for service but it wont be cheap
Do you mean the dial? It really does change with the light. In bright sunlight, I find it has a nice sheen due to the fine dust like finishing on the platinum dial - I think the platinum does make a difference in the dynamic look of the dial. In warmer indoor light conditions it can seem a little warmer, however platinum I find has a different hue vs stainless steel and white gold (which is warmer).
I will be doing a head to head comparison of the Rolex Sub and this YM in an upcoming video so you can see it side by side! Do subscribe and when its out you'll get the notification. :)

@@markvelber8664 I disagree. The YM has the same Trip-lock crown as the Sub and therefore fully capable of underwater activities. I had my AD subject my YM to a pressure test and it passed at 200m. Likely would have handled more pressure but we didn’t do it. Trust me, the YM can handle anything the Sub can related to water
Hi 👋 thanks for your feedback. At first I thought the same thing however actually that is how the yachtmaster is polished, in actual fact it’s curved unlike the submariner. You can check it out brand new at the AD and you will notice it’s the same. At first glance it looks like it’s over polished however that’s actually the look for the Yachtmaster

Am I correct in saying this watch comes in the 31.00.04 medium box? Unsure if my watch came in the correct box
Sorry not very sure on this detail. 🤔
Beautiful watch, those curved lugs and over all premium look make it a classic vintage piece that will be sought after by many enthusiasts. ❤👍👍
Well said!
Can you feel any extra weight with the platinum components?
Yes for sure. It’s quite a nice feeling actually
Wonderful video! Btw are you from MY or SG because of your familiar accent hahah
Yes we are!
Is there rolex engraved rehaut? Between the glass and the face on the side?
Hi! Yes there’s the engraved rehaut for the Yachtmaster models from 2007 onwards. You can see it in the video as well.
For a entry Rolex I think this is a really nice piece can’t wait to owning one soon
Cool review, I was just in love with this watch. Are they in new condition, can you tell me where you can buy them?🤩

THE Perfection ❤️
When you mention the bezels texture, do you know if possible at all to restore should there be wear evident?
I have heard that it is possible but it would be a very difficult process I believe as the bezel is 100% platinum

@@jcnole77@twosecondswatch Just an update; blasting can be done at authorised service centres, cost of service c£700 which seems ok.
Would you call the great on the dial on the warmer side?

Wonderful watch
I own the blue dial YM version as well as a Sub. Without question the YM is a better version of the Sub.

Logically there can not be a comparison between Sub and YM , Sub made for under water as divers watch and YM for over water.

I love it ❤❤❤
What a beauty❤
Wonderful 😍😍
Glad you enjoyed it!

And both are luxury watches and less than maybe 1% actually use them for their intended purchases! 🤫
Whoever polished that watch was too aggressive at the crown guards
