Define raw? All this guy did was shit that was already done before to the same sample which at the end of the day is just that a sample. The second version sounded much more realistic, you're just falling for placebo effect because you saw some eq get changed
I literally thought the snare was gone in the second version. Lately I've been really enjoying the drums on Helmets meantime album. Always one of my favorite listens when I wanna hear good drum parts and sounds.
First dnare soumd was best. Just because u know how to use saamples and doesnt mean u need to. The firstbone was a deeper natural sound and filled out the frequency better. The second one was much more tight and thin in the mix. Imo anyway.
The before was a one shot sample. The 2nd included high end information from the actual recorded snare for the session so technically the 2nd sounded more natural
@@Darksignstudios are you serious right now man I mean this in no real hard offense to you but my ear is my ear so dont tell me what i should be thinking. Technically dont matter. Its WHAT SOUNDS BEST TO YOU. i left my comment to answer his question. Of course he was leading u that way because he went thru the provess. But as a sound engineer I could tell you right now that he did not appropriately scoop and EQ and it made the second one sound a lot more computer-like tactile and aggressive where the first one sounded more natural because it had resonance and the EQ was correct. Completely ignoring that the Snare was basically inaudible in the after sesction, having the after significantly louder than the before is misleading and makes it super hard to hear the actual differences.
It lacked high end punch, what I do is set the expander on 4+ khz to listen to a 200 to 400 range with a lookahead of 9 or 10 ms, short attack and short to mid release to get rid of the cymbals but keep the attack intact
Im confused, was the goal here to make the snare inaudible? Seems like a lot of effort when you could have just muted the snare and got the exact same effect. I thought the 1st one sounded way better, but only because you could hear it.
that is hella overprocessing. throw an ssl channel on it, boost at 8k, 4.5k, cut where the woofiness is in the mids, boost 200 a bit. compress at ratio 10, 10ms attack, fast release, average GR of 10db more or less. and then i throw revival by blacksalt audio on it and turn up the highs, which is basically a multiband expander with a crazy transient.
Crazy to use terms that mean nothing in music to describe it. Lol. Was it the eq or the compression or what was it really? I'm just saying those terms are meaningless and shouldn't be used when describing music or production. Maybe of they had meaning or definition in relationship to music but they don't, they're completely irrelevant terms that don't exist in music or production. I agree the second snare doesn't sound good, way too much low end on the eq made it get lost in the bass drum and bass. Idk wtf sterile means when all it evet was is a drum sample to begin with
This short is not doing justice at all to their skills. Their finished stuff sounds miles better than this (Phinehas or Erra's work with them is incredible) and this is weird to put this while this is cleary not finished.
I liked the before more because it sounded more raw

the first one literally sounded better, latter sounds too hollow and litterally gets lost in the mix, imho
Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I couldn't hear the snare after and I think it could use some more low end.
Snare cut through on the first version. 2nd version it got lost, couldn’t hear it as clear.
first sounded better
Couldn’t even hear the second one 💀🤣

Helmet always had a kickass snare sound.

Song is Nahaya-At Work With Fire

What’s the one shot?
Had a very “5 minutes alone” by pantera sound with the raw drum audio
Song title?
Is it Sandstorm?
that is hella overprocessing.

lol the after is supposed to be better than the before
Judging from the comment section, I guess it's not just me but "After" sounded too sterile, weak and with no character, in my opinion.

it got buried.
Lmao should have just kept the same 😂, you over complicated it
The fet compressor was set too aggressive
Tittle this song?
It's already been titled
It’s called Doggy Barkerson.
Edit: Don’t steal this name.
bro just turned the volume up
Is this satire?
the whole mix sounds muddy as fuck, can't even tell where the bass is

he made it sound worse..
Added 20 plugins with another snare over the top and made it worse
After Khole gets out, this channel is meaningless. Unsub.
Sounds the same lol
Actually does
