I'm a relatively new subscriber who really appreciates the fact that you don't pause songs. Other great ELO tunes include "I Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Strange Magic", and "Telephone Line".
This song is instant happiness ☀️🌻 Jeff Lynne said in an interview, “It was dark and misty for 2 weeks, and I didn’t come up with a thing. Suddenly the sun shone and it was, ‘Wow, look at those beautiful Alps’. I wrote Mr. Blue Sky and 13 other songs in the next 2 weeks”. May I recommend TIGHTROPE, so good!!
Concerto for a rainy day was four songs ending with this one. It had all the weather in it lol!
This song is one of four parts of 'Concerto for a Rainy Day' which took up one of four sides of the 'Out of the Blue' double album set. Mr Blue Sky was lifted as a single but the whole concerto deserves a listen. Also check out, 'Can't get it out of my head', 'The Diary of Horace Wimp', 'Evil Woman' and 'Living Thing'. Thanks JM Cheers ✌
The Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1970 by songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood with drummer Bev Bevan. Their music is characterised by a fusion of pop and classical arrangements with futuristic iconography. Classic Rock beats and guitar work while using strings created a unique sound all their own.
The Yardbirds are described as "The Sons of the Stones", and Lennon said of ELO that they were the Sons of the Beatles and said that they were as he thought the Beatles most likely would have sounded if they'd continued on into the 1970s
ELO has such a huge catalog, and worth every second to dive into! A couple of my favorites are listed below w/links. Another great reaction choice and analysis! Thanks, JM! ✌💙✌

ELO had many hits. They were great. Their greatest hits was 3 albums, they had so many hits.
A great band, with so many beautiful classics!
Hey thanks for checking out this really really good band. There is a live version of this song at Wembley in London that is fantastic, great stage setup so you can get a sense of the flying saucer implied. Love the channel, keep it going amigo
This song is the last of a 4 song Concerto found on side 3 of their album Out Of The Blue. the Concerto begins with a stormy day (Standin In The Rain) and concludes with the sunny (Mr. blue Sky) Each song blends into the other to provide cohesion and transformation from one state of mind to the other-well worth a listen.
Tremendous track! One of the greatest of all time!
Amen to Jeffe Lynne ..singer...songwriting..
Considered by many to be the happiest song of all time.
Such an invigorating song, full of hope and life. Love them.
Jeff Lynne and ELO have few more tunes you'll like, about 100 or more in my collection.
Can't go wrong with ELO...CLASSIC SONG
That is a vocoder...used with keyboards. A talk box is used with a guitar.
Great song and love your style! Your reaction was priceless! 🎶
Love this….on soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy, too! 😊😊
Great review elo the best ever always puts a smile on my face thank you ❤
I was thinking about this song today
It's great to see young cats getting turned on to really great music. I had the privilege of growing up to their music - the soundtrack of my youth
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius.
Thanks, JMboy, for getting into ELO - their compositions were brilliant.. largely due to Jeff Lynne, the genius behind the band and great vocals... I hope you get to "The Traveling Wilburys" - A super group that included Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Roy Orbison.. such an amazing collab!
This song is just good mood personified 🎉
I dont know where to start. ELO is the best! Jeff Lynne is brilliant and he wrote, sang, produced, played instruments, you name it. There are soooooo many songs of their you must react to. Where do I start. The music video for Roll Over Beethoven is insane and you can see dueling cellos. Maybe that one. Otherwise, I would just be listing songs forever.
They played a fire extinguisher as an instrument in the song if you didn't catch it, and at the end the vocoder voice says 'please turn me over' indicating to turn the record over as it was the end of side 3 of the album Out of the Blue
Groot!
Playing in Atlanta in less than two weeks...wish I could afford to go!
ELO blew up big when i was in jr. High im thinking 1975 and they were so different from most other sounds at the time still love their music makes me feel good ...♡
Suggest ELO Telephone Line, live @ Wembley 2018. My favorite song of ELO. 💯🔥
I saw Elo in 2019 in concert and it was unbelievable. When they got to the final 2 minutes of this song it brought me to tears because it was so beautiful. Either that or it was the rum and cokes..lol…either way I was moved emotionally watching elo perform so if they tour again, it is a must see concert !!!
PS-loved your program! Looking forward to more!
Can't feel down when this plays.
Fyi this plays in the opening of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2"
Check out their song "Calling America" from 1986 album "Balance of power" don't think anyone has reacted to it yet
I love your channel young man! You're open to everything which I. Enjoy your journey, I 😂be watching!
"Evil Woman," and "Last Train to London," are even better ELO songs.
After one year and over 500 reactions, with over 12,000 Subs/Suggestions it would be quite difficult to pick out a Top 10 List. Even a top 25 would be tough. Favorite artist, song lyrics, instrumentally, live performances. You've come a long way in your journey into different musical genres like Rock. You're just getting started, just getting into the woods. Follow the Bread Crumbs and you'll be fine.
Add another outstanding name in the history of Classic Rock to your outstanding Playlist. Thanks again.

I suppose I'm the only one to find this song miserable.
Seems I missed Mr. Blue Sky whenever he came out. Must have been smoking H.
Considered by many as one of the happiest song ever recorded.
May I recommend a reaction to Norway’s legendary Afro-pop duo Nico and Vinz?
For the search engine: Nico and Vinz In Your Arms Senkveld NRK (Norwegian television program they performed this song on).
This song is on my good morning wake up playlist. ☺
I can never hear this now without seeing Groot dancing amidst the chaos.
Check out the one they did in their Hyde Park version. Just listen to it. It's crazy cool.
Having said that, it was fun seeing you reacting to it.
Y'all be safe.
Oh Dog. You got a Ton of great Songs to react to from This Band! Or should I say Orchestra! 🎶
Hard to feel sad when listening to this
When a band is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that place asks the band who they would like included… so they can exclude former band members, if they choose
Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, Bev Bevan, and Richard Tandy were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame And this is where it’s telling on the generosity of spirit (or lack thereof) of band members
The late Kelly Groucutt was the bass player for eight years (I would dare say their most popular years) and he was not included. A terrible ‘tribute’ to Jeff Lynne’s sense of generosity.
Michael Kaminski (Violinist) was a member also during these productive years and was not included.
Roy Wood, founding member was in ELO for less than two years, and was included induction. At about the time he left Richard Tandy joined, and he was included in the Hall.
I am not just having a dig at ELO. Fleetwood Mac did the same when they did not have Bob Welch included into their lineup inducted into the Hall of Fame. Bob was a member in the crucial years that the Mac changed from being a blues band to a pop band (from 1971 to 1974).
“Man, I dig that ELO” no less than John Lennon said in the mid ‘70’s. He nicknamed them “Sons of the Beatles”. Jeff Lynne, the lead singer and lead guitarist would be the producer for 2 of the 3 new Beatles songs released. He was close friends with George Harrison, and was even a bandmember with him in the Travelling Wilburys. Jeff produced many of George Harrison’s solo albums, so when the Anthology project for the Beatles came up with the new songs it was George who convinced Paul to let Jeff produce the new Beatles songs. Their history is very intertwined.
It's basically the song you play to aliens while they're deciding whether or not to blow up the earth
if that doesn't work bring out Louis Armstrongs 'what a wonderful world' as your last card
if that dosn't work then f*** it just throw on Black Sabbath, lay back and watch the fireworks
Voted the happiest song in the UK
Just a fun happy tune that shines through as the sun did for Jeff and the band back when they were making this record!
"Mr. Blue Sky"
Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin', everybody's in the play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day? Hey
Runnin' down the avenue
See how the sun shines brightly in the city
On the streets where once was pity
Mr. Blue Sky is living here today, hey
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long (so long)
Where did we go wrong?
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long (so long)
Where did we go wrong?
Hey you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration, Mr. Blue Sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for
Oh, Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long (so long)
Where did we go wrong?
Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you
Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you
Mr. Blue, you did it right
But soon comes Mr. Night creepin' over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind, I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this way
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long (so long)
Where did we go wrong?
Hey there Mr. Blue (sky)
We're so pleased to be with you (sky)
Look around see what you do (blue)
Everybody smiles at you
Ya gotta do "Fire On High"!
There are definitely Beatles overtones to this song. It's great to see the bass player, Kelly Groucutt, in the video...he often shared lead vocals with Lynne, sang the operatic parts of "Rockaria"(great song to check out) on tour, and composed part of "Mr Blue Sky" from what I've read yet doesn't get the recognition he deserves...
"Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and "A Day In the Life" for sure.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my favourite songs of all time. John Lennon said that he thought the Beatles might have evolved into something like ELO if, you know no Yoko. I added that last bit.
she didn't break up the Beatles you know lol
Just a note,, the lead guitar solo you heard was actually done by the amazing Brian May. Great choice my man. A masterpiece. 🎸
Methinks you're mistaken (though in this video Jeff Lynne does have similar hair!).
MORE ELO PLEASE👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
