    2. Detangle hair with conditioner.

    4. Drench hair in water and add gel to the section.

    If you are a 4c coarse girl like me, this is EXACTLY what you need to do if you want a wash n' go/shingling method style that actually looks good. 1. Use a gel that will actually define your extremely tight curls (try to choose something with moisturizing properties + moderate hold. 2. Use a blow dryer with concentrator nozzle to stretch your hair in sections. Otherwise, you will be left with an unflattering, shrunken, limp mess. Using the blow dryer adds fantastic volume and length to what would otherwise be a "wash and no" for 4c.

    Using a hooded dryer helps to reduce
    single strand knots because it freezes the coils in place, so they don't continue to draw up overtime like they would if you air dried.

    Beautiful. Sitting under a hooded dryer for as little as 30 minutes does wonders. Even though nothing is wrong with shrinkage, a hooded dryer helps to retain some of the length. It’s because your roots dry first. Therefore your hair is being dried downward along the hair shaft which helps elongation. After your roots dry you can air dry the rest of the way. But I stay under the dryer or diffuse after 45 minutes.

    This is on point, and I loooove the results. Just know, it is more than okay to blowdry your hair. Spending 48-72 hours waiting for it to dry when drying it under a hooded dryer/diffuser not only sets the gel and strands in place beautifully but also gets you out of the house in 2 more hours is unnecessary. Gel makes your hair crunchy regardless, so when it dries and feels crunchy, just squeeze your curls and it'll begin to have some body. But pleeeeease blow dry. Wearing your hair wet makes it very susceptible to getting dirty quicker.

    Omg girl i love it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone condition before shampooing before but I can’t deny the results! I think I will try this method next time! Although I hate wet hair so I’ll probably sit under a hooded dryer to get it dry. Thanks for sharing!

    • @Mskyraelise
      @Mskyraelise 3 года назад +23

      It's honestly not the best way. shampooing after is stripping the moisture and coat of deep conditioner that you just put on your hair. And deep conditioning dirty hair serves virtually no purpose because it's trying to penetrate through dirt.

    • @sabinemarie2159
      @sabinemarie2159 3 года назад +1

      @@Mskyraelise I was thinking that too. But I have that butter shampoo from Soultaticals that you can supposedly use and go straight to styling because it’s so moisturizing so I was going to try it with that.

    I've been doing this for OVER A YEAR now!!! I have 4c, and I do gel (actually custard, bc gel has too much flake and structure for me) on drenched hair in shower. Then dry! But I think I'm going to try a combo of this where I do gel on my roots and ends, and then just heavy styler on the main length so I use less gel/custard.

  • @SaysSimone
