Lol this fixes nothing. Officials stuff their pockets and mock the poor

Arresting them is a waste of time.

Where do you expect people to go? Why is it illegal to be poor, without a home? Do you think that arresting these people and issuing fines they can't afford will teach them a lesson? You should be building shelters BEFORE 'cleaning up the streets'. Also encampments that are secure should be available. To the man who said that if it were easy to solve we would have already solved it, that's not exactly true. Officials aren't looking to actually solve the problem. The problem bothers them. The people involved bother them. They don't want to see them. And now that sleeping on the streets is deemed illegal by SCOTUS, there will be raids daily, people arrested and fined, their tents and meager possessions confiscated. You will have a complete plan to attack the problem. Instead, attack the problem of people being unhoused with nowhere to go. These people are not criminals simply because they cannot afford a roof over their head. Yes, some prefer to be out there, for whatever the reason. But that doesn't mean they have the money and means to change their situation. This is a problem that exists throughout the country. We should be dealing with this problem as though it were a health crisis, because it is. The richest nation on earth should not have homelessness on this scale.

Being homeless isn't a crime and to treat it like it is with no way to fix underlying issues is irresponsible and not helpful at all

I have a homeless person a bag of water and food. She told me she was in Bakersfield because someone put her in the train from LA.

Lots of campgrounds. And more shelters. And tiny home communities. Stop painting all homeless people with the same brush.

@@pattykelly6621 Have you replied to every comment? You could spend that time getting out of your flooded phone booth that hasn't existed since the 90's.

How about trying to get a JOB and better yourselves? I know that's not the philosophy in California, but this is the alternative.

Oh screw you. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, even if you're trying to do that while trapped in a phone booth that is filling with water. Just get a job. Just better yourself. Just rent an apartment.
