I love your journal ,it’s very inspiring! I often start my work in journals but then move on to other things and leave it incomplete. This has inspired me to revisit my unfinished work. Thank you 😊
I'm so glad you found this helpful. I think sometimes it's good to leave things incomplete and move on but sometimes it's good to go back to the unfinished page and see what might happen. You just never know.
Thanks for the reminder that art journals are for exploring ideas. It's so easy to get too precious and overthink everything. There's a looseness and freedom here that I really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing your processes and thinking out loud with us. I appreciate these kinds of videos. xo ❤
You expressed exactly what I was hoping to share--art journal freedom and looseness. I agree that it is all too easy to be caught up in the end result and overthink it something which I am prone to do. I hope you are encouraged in your own creative journey.
I was Journaling in a group yesterday. Its good to do this with other artists. We "infect each other" with encouragement, bravery, a bit of amateur psychology, kindergarten coloring friendship and it becomes a memory in our journal of inspiration.
I love this idea of group journaling! How cool that you have artist friends to do this with, and I love the idea of "infecting each other" with all the positive vibes that we each need to overcome our own doubts.
I love every single page, beautiful journal. I admire your strength to show all your work on a social media platform. And thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. ❤️
Thank you for such kind words Mary--that means so much. I have found that sharing my art can be intimidating but that most people are gracious and encouraging (like you!).
Thanks, Andrea--it's sometimes surprising how much has changed and yet how much stays the same over the course of a year. I appreciate you watching and letting me know.
Omgosh I’ve come home! Someone who feels like me. I am working on 3 journals right now. It’s so relaxing to me and if I mess up who cares just turn the page right!?
Oh Sharon I am so glad that you are learning and being inspired! That is exactly why I've been making these videos--to encourage others on their creative journey.
That is high praise indeed! I know what you mean about not being drawn to certain forms of art---we can't like everything but sometimes we can be swayed if there's a connection. I appreciate you sharing that with me.
I have the same issue with the spiral bound books, the left side is hard to work on. So....I flip it so the spiral is at the top and it challenges me to do a landscape creation......and it is a real challenge for me.....scale, layout etc.. Love your latest journal and the ladder being a sign of growth.....what a great idea!
Of course, turning the art journal is such a great idea, Pam! I never thought to do that--I guess I can be a bit too literal-minded. I have always felt like it was a waste not using that page and I probably should've tried a little harder to make use of it.
I have mine on a shelf and I often refer back to them for ideas or sometimes just to reflect on how my skills have developed over time. I hope you enjoy the freedom to explore and practice which is the beauty that an art journal offers.
I totally get that. Here's my suggestion--increase the playback speed and mute the volume. I do that all the time when I quickly want to watch a video without all the chit chat.
Thanks for that suggestion--I will take it into consideration the next time I share a completed art journal. As an alternative, you could mute the sound and increase the playback speed that way you wouldn't hear me talking.
your color palette is wonderfully subtle and complex as is the background texture
Thanks so much Wendy! I love your descriptive words--helps me so my art in a new light.

I enjoyed your flip-through and agree, art journals are for exploration and adventure!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like we are on the same page (literally & figuratively!).
I like your style!
Thanks so much Tracy! I appreciate you watching and letting me know.

Once again I’m inspired by you! Thanks for sharing your talent, I too have a few all going at once. Keeps life interesting ❤
Thanks so much Jill! I'm glad to hear you keep several art journals going at the same time too. And I agree--keeps things interesting!
Pam I love your journal. I did a lot of ohhhh ing and awww ing 😂. Beautiful. I loved the little canvas you have on your wall as well. ❤
Oh, Carrie--thanks so much! And I also appreciate that you notice all the details--like what is hanging on the wall!!
I love every single page, beautiful journal. I admire your strength to show all your work on a social media platform. And thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. ❤️

Thanks Pam for showing your 12 months of work. I was fascinated by your creations. A pleasure to watch.🙂👍👍
Thanks, Andrea--it's sometimes surprising how much has changed and yet how much stays the same over the course of a year. I appreciate you watching and letting me know.
Intresting.
Thanks for watching!
It’s funny because the ones you don’t like are the ones that I most resonated with and loved! Art is in the eye of the beholder.
I love that Rhodel! You are so right--art is in the eye of the beholder! (I also tend to be more critical of my own art)
Fascinating journal 👏👏🎉🎉🌷🌷🌼🌼
Thanks for watching and letting me know!
@@pamhemmerling thank you so much for sharing 🌻 your paintings are very inspiring and wonderful 🪷
@@celebratelife8436 Appreciate your kind words!

I'm smiling reading your comment Patti! I so agree, just turn the page and try again--it's only paint or ink or graphite or pastel or....
I find this really interesting.
Thanks! I hope you were inspired to continue in your creative process.
Art Journal #16 is amazing! I love your art & I’m learning so much from you! Thank you, thank you 😊 ❤
Oh Sharon I am so glad that you are learning and being inspired! That is exactly why I've been making these videos--to encourage others on their creative journey.
Your journal is really interesting. I saw a scene that reminded me of Venice in one!
Oh, I love that unknowingly I painted a "feel" of Venice--thanks for letting me know! And thanks for watching Jackie!
I love this art journal Pam, especially the portraits, they are all moody and very interesting.
That means so much Kerrie! Thanks for watching and letting me know.
My pleasure! Please keep making wonderful art (and sharing)😊
In general, I’m not a fan of abstract work but something about your’s really speaks to me. So many beautiful paintings in there.
That is high praise indeed! I know what you mean about not being drawn to certain forms of art---we can't like everything but sometimes we can be swayed if there's a connection. I appreciate you sharing that with me.
I really like your Art Journal especially the abstract pages! So inspiring! thanks for sharing 💜
I appreciate you letting me know Kirsten! I'm glad you were inspired!

what do you with all these Journals, I started Journaling yesterday
I have mine on a shelf and I often refer back to them for ideas or sometimes just to reflect on how my skills have developed over time. I hope you enjoy the freedom to explore and practice which is the beauty that an art journal offers.
You know, you know, you know.......
As you so aptly pointed out and I agree, I'm not the most articulate person--especially once the camera is rolling!
Flip-through... less commentary, please. The art is fun, but....
I totally get that. Here's my suggestion--increase the playback speed and mute the volume. I do that all the time when I quickly want to watch a video without all the chit chat.
Can u make a version without talking.
Thanks for that suggestion--I will take it into consideration the next time I share a completed art journal. As an alternative, you could mute the sound and increase the playback speed that way you wouldn't hear me talking.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing. I love your backgrounds especially, they have depth but seem rather light hearted.
Thanks Mary! I appreciate your thoughtful comment.
