    thank you for putting this video on . It is easier to understand how hydrostatic transmissions work when the parts in the system are added as the video progresses, this gives a much better understanding of how they work.

    Very good explanation about every component in this system!
    I'm interested in advanced hydraulic systems and I really would like to know how modern excavator pumps and maneuvering systems work. I thought a track driven excavator has a separate pump for the digging functions but obviously it has only 2 variable displacement pumps and a small pilot pump. Any video about this anywhere?

    can the charge pump be used to operate actuators like cylinder and steering unit?

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  3 года назад +2

      no, generally the pump is only sized to properly charge the hydrostatic system and it only runs at a few hundred psi

    All the earthmoving equipments are closed loop one?

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  3 года назад +2

      No. Skid steer loaders, small dozers, lots of ag equipment, paving products mostly ... it's a long list but there's more equipment with conventional drive trains than hydrostatic.

      @@hydraulics and the excavators uses open loop system?

      @@sumitmukherjee7790 most do because they have large hydraulic tanks for implement systems already. One main benefit of closed loop hydrostatic is that you do not need to return large quantities of oil to the reservoir.

    Hi. Does hydraulic oil overheat after continuous use? Is it necessary to have connection from oil cooler to add cooled oil in this close system? Please help me out why some hydrostatic transmission in tractor don't have oil cooling system?

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  3 года назад +1

      on some systems, if the hydraulic tank is large enough, the walls of the tank will provide adequate cooling. In small equipment, like lawn mowers, the hydrostatic unit is often made of finned aluminum for cooling.
