The best breakfast experience I've ever had was in turkey with a beautiful mountain view. It was 7am, i was the only customer at the time, and i ordered Menemen. As a foreigner they treated me so well even though i did not speak their language. I thank them for showing me this meal!

I’m from Puerto Rico. I love menemen. I find it in a series, Sefirin Kizi, and immediately try the recipe, and it’s was amazing. I incorporated it to my regular breakfast. I add onions to the peppers, and sprinkle cheese after the eggs.
I have been eating this dish for years as my father is from Turkey and often made it for us for breakfast! I never remember him using peppers though (probably because of his sensitive mide) but I shall try that when I make this dish next time. My mother is American and while she lived in Turkey for many years she learned many Turkish dishes from her mother-in-law who was a wonderful Turkish cook. My mother and father taught me many Turkish recipes and I include them on a weekly basis in our menus. Even though my husband is not Turkish (he is Honduran!) he has a well developed taste for Turkish food as well especially cold dolmasi. Now my mother has dimentia and I'm unable to check in with her when I need reminders for how to make a certain Turkish dish so I'm so glad I found your channel!!!! I especially enjoyed this video and the recent video with Sadiye Teyze on how to make gozleme. I have tried a couple of times to make this but now that I see how to make it correctly I will try it again!!!!

This dish is my all-time favorite breakfast! I do a little variations, such as adding onions and a little bit of ketchup, minus the cheese and trust me it turns out as pizza filling!!! I have tried this with paneer (cottage cheese) also and it turned out just as tasty as it did with eggs!!! Love from India❤❤❤
My grandma used to make menemen with onions and without cheese. So you re not wrong, its another style of menemen. :) My mom uses it as pasta sauce sometimes. ;) or as a tirit if some leftover. which means you cut to pieces and dry your stale bread, maybe in an oven, then add a small amount of water in your leftover menemen, boil it, and pour it over your dry bread. Let the bread soak, and eat. Its best if the bread is proper simple bread, made with yeast. those near pastry breads get soggy quickly.
A lot of turkish people add onion too my mother makes menemen with green peppers, garlic, onion, tomato and tomato paste it tastes wayyy better in my opinion you can make it like hers but I think it is a bit blant

I love it with onions as well, saute onion first, then add peppers, then tomato, cheese and eggs. Sometimes, no cheese. It may not be menemem, but menemem inspired and delicious.

The first time I had menemen was when I was invited for breakfast/brunch at my Turkish friends’ home. It was sooo good. I made it for my family the other morning and they couldn’t stop complimenting. Thank you for showing how to make it. Ive been watching other channels how they make it. But I’ve only stuck to your channel because it’s so welcoming.
