The worst scam was before LOD was released, the accept trade button wasn’t disabled for a time after the other party added or removed an item. So, a millisecond before you hit accept trade people could just remove their item and you would give them your item for free.
the "LOL" is to all the people that dont check their trade window before hitting accept. it really is not a scam, because the system is scam proof: "is everything perfectly fine? yes? then hit "accept" trade!" and if you cant concentrate and check that all items are what you think they are, you are missing on some most basic life skills honestly.
damn this trick is as old as diablo 2 itself, thats why u always have to check for the items u want to trade and ofc the stats, some ppl will give u bad rolled items when u dont double check
it works. back in the day I had a lot of dopamine pumping. once that check mark turned green, I'd get that lil adrenaline spike and boom. I get scammed.
the sad part is you know whoever is trying to pull this scam is 30+ years old and learned it on original d2 lmao
I did this a couple times like 20 years ago lol
Haha, that scam is 20 years old
This. Like the first scam ever scammed.
Nah, the first one similar to this is way back in vanilla D2 with Rattlecage replaced by a gothic plate with amethyst
Thats the first and one of the last that got me xd
I was still young then 😆

Fucking hilarious that 20 years later this guy playing remembered the scam and tried it 😂😂

20 years old trick~
better scam is to trade an unidentified Shako, and switch it for a rare unidentified shako. the colour difference of the text is minimal
Nice hahaha

It's awkward and I feel embarrassed for the guy trying to scam. it's so silly.

Fukin old trick in the book in any online multiplayer game.
This isn't a scam. If you accept this trade, you're just a fool xD
