Dude! I have been looking for this exact explanation since I bought mine. Thanks for the full and simple explanation and demonstration, super helpful. Cheers!
Glad I could help :)
Exactly the same as my 2021 Ram.
Nice truck. I just bought a white 2020 RAM. Now time to go buy the tires and lift
What size lift are you going with?
@@project4793 I bought the 2” leveling kit from easy lift and installled 35x12.5x20 nitro ridge grapplers
@@oscarmorales4551 nice!! Probably looks sharp, dont forget to subscribe, I got a video coming with brand new tires :)
I did a 35x12.5 R18 on my Rebel with nothing but a two inch level kit but it already came with 275/70 R18s. Believe the rebel also has more space in the front wells and I did change my upper controls, but I love it
I believe the offset or the rebel rims are slightly different as well, I bought my truck originally with 285/65 20
Aye,same here...2020 rebel,35x12.50 18s with fuel wheels,2 inch lift,and different arms
did the tires fit on the stock rims? I have 2" lift and plan to run 35" on the stock rims
@@menash23 you shouldn't have an issue, mine are on stock rims
Do you get any rubbing offroad with the 35s? I have a 2020 Rebel, currently shopping for larger tires
I’m gonna go for it and try the same tire size on my stock 20” wheels. Thanks for the tip of the 1/4 spacers makes sense love the set up👍
Hope it works out! If it rubs a little bit, drill 2 small holes in your plastic fender then zip tie it back
let me know if this helps, i’m thinking of doing the same with 33x12.5s i wanna make sure i don’t have clearance problems with my A-arms
@@wadeedelen141 33’s fit with no problem
Thank you for making the video. Was at dealership looking at a Big Horn today. Was curious about a level kit and tire size. Perfect video for what I needed to answer in my thoughts.
Any time! I was in the same boat they told me they thought it wouldn't fit when I first bought this truck but I wanted to try anyways! Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice video! I just bought a blacked out 1500 and went with a ReadyLift 2” leveling kit and Kuhmo 295/55/20’s which is the same as 33x11.5. OEM Black Wheels, no spacers, no rub. I may have gone with 35’s and spacers had i seen this first, good info.
You don’t want spacers.
Awesome and thanks for mentioning the spacer
No problem!!
My 2022 limited with air fits the same exact size tire with no spacer at all. It doesn’t rub the knuckle or whatever you said it would. I have since out 1.25” wheel spacers because I wanted the wider look but I ran no spacers for a year and never rubbed
Looking great with 35s👍👍. My Rams next-
Lake Havasu 🔥
Thank you very much!
Buying a ‘19 ram like this and I definitely gotta level it with some 35s the thing is nosediving one the showroom
You right haha, definitely couldn't leave it like that, I had 34s on befor this and it looked really good to, im actually running brand new sst cooper's now instead of the open country's
2019 ram 1500 with the air ride have my truck set up high with the 35x12 5 r 20s air ride saves you from purchasing a leveling kit or wheel spacers
Maxing that out all the time isn't the best for it, but im sure your fine. Definitely alot more expensive option
Awesome thank you
Did they have trouble balancing the wheels since the rims are plastic in the middle where the lug holes are
Thank you for this!
I’ve got the same year and model truck… can you just trim the piece in the back that rubs in reverse? And I know it’s been a few years but what are your current thoughts about this setup?
I clear 33 12.5’s no spacer and no leveling kit on my stock Laramie wheels. I don’t have any rubbing and have about 3/4” away from the upper control arm which is fine bc that control will never move closer to your tire
Nice I was running 34" by 11.5 before these, but im happy with the 35s
That's the exact setup I was going with. 33x12.5 on Laramie wheels, for my North Edition Bighorn which comes with a 1"lift from factory.
Nice truck! Have you noticed a decrease in power? Looking to put 35’s on my Hemi but I don’t want to lose the HEMI horsepower
Not bad if you have 3.92 gearing
This video isn’t true I put 35 x 12.50 R 22 on my 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel with a 2” Rough Country Suspension level kit, and it still rubs on the plastic piece behind the front tires
On my 2021 Big Horn with fox 2.0 ifp coil overs 2” level and 35/12.50/18 on method rims is rubbing! It will require trimming and some hammering.
Really? What's it rubbing on? I know recently with the brand new set of tires I bought, I had a slight more rubbing, I ended up drilling 2 holes in my inner plastic fender and zip tied them back!
@@project4793 I am sitting at the shop now. tires would hit the oem mini mud flap about an inch in. They had to trim that mini mud flap and drill two holes to pull the fender wheel well in some. This is a new build and l will be doing a video soon.

Great video 👍🛠️
Hey man, your truck looks sweet, I just bought a 2019 ram 1500 and I'm going to level it as well with 35s, do you think I could avoid spacers if I did a 35x11.5r20? Thanks in advance.
If your running 11.5 wide youll definitely be fine without the spacers!
I have an ‘11 sport 2 inch level kit with 35 mud grapplers and the quarter spacer.. they only hit the sway bar on max turn
Thats awesome! Mud grapplers are actually one of my dream tires! Thats awesome! Probably looks some sharp
Good looking truck.
Thank you!
I have 2020 Ram 1500 white midnight edition. I recently did a 2inch level kit. I can’t find 33’s. All I see is 35’s so I’m thinking about running them. Will I need spacers for the 35’s? Some of friends keep telling me that they are going to rub or I need to go to a 3in or 4in lift kit. And how did you change your theme display?
I would suggest getting a leveling kit that includes upper control arms which are made for the lift, otherwise you'll be replacing ball joints on a regular basis and eventually have to replace the UCA too.
I learned from my last truck to do it right the first time.
I'm at 50k kms and not an issue yet, leveling kits are not really much of a problem with new trucks as they dont have torsion keys, axle angles and control arm angles are almost at the original state, no reason to pay an extra 300$ for control arms, but you are correct I belive anything over 2.5" should have aftermarket control arms
What about 35 x11.50 x20 Ridge grapplers on 20x10 wheels -18 offset. Good to hear these tires fit thanks for the video
I think your be alright running those, may rub a little more than mine did.
@@project4793 thanks man appreciate it
They dont rub but they do rub. That is why they say they do not fit they are not supposed to hit ever
I have the 2019 Bighorn and at the dealership they had a one sitting in the showroom on 35's and said it only had a leveling kit, they did not mention the spacer. Your wheels look different then my stock 20's though, do you know the offset of those wheels, mine is +19mm. Great video thanks for sharing.
My bighorn came fully loaded with the 20" chrome wheels package, im not sure the offset but the 1/4" spacer will help with rubbing on your inner fenders either way so its worth the 40$ to get them anyways, i belive with the 18 inch rim youll need it as the rim edge is closer to your upper control arm then the 20s. You also have to take into account your sidewall on your tire, as mine are open country m/ts, the sidewall is more aggressive and sticks farther out then your average tire. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask
@@project4793is your truck a 2wd?
Hi. Do you know your overall height of your truck?. I live in a townhome with a enclosed parking structure. I want my ram exactly like yours but I wanna make sure I’m able to keep it safe lol.
No i dont, but if you search up stock height, then add about 3.5 inches, you'll get a rough estimate of how tall it is
I bought a pre-owned black 2020 Limited Night Edition with a leveling kit sitting on 35x12.5x22s from a dealership. The 35s do rub at full lock, I doubt they installed spacers so gonna look into that. Are we sure 1/4" is all the spacing we need? I dont want to go to much more cause I dont want the sitck out look. Thank you
Hey 1/4 may help yes, you can also ziptie the fender back which may help as well! The original reason I got the 1/4" spacer was to clear user control arm, but you wouldn't have that problem as you have 22" rims.
Dude ! Do you have problems with the Traction Control System or with the ABS ? I want to buy the 35" x 12.50 tires with my stock rims R18 .
I know my 2017 Ram had 35s on it and my front wheel speed sensor kept having issues. So now that I have a 22 Ram I'm scared to even put bigger tires on it.
Love the look of the truck! How have those set of spacers held up over time?
Held up perfect 👍👍
I got 1½ " spacers.
Waiting on my tires to be put on.
Hello sr I’m writing from chile and here it’s not easy to find things like in the us… do you have the link of the spacer and also it’s is necessary chip the ecu for the new size of tire? You feel fat the truck whit the change???
I really appreciate your help
You would need a chip to change speedometer, but I dodnt get one I got use to the speed difference
Looks good
What if you have the stock 22inch rims. I've been told by so many shops that no way can a 35 fit. After watching this I'm thinking they will. Looking at venoms, haidas, or patriots/radar
Yes almost positive they will fit, it will rub a bit unless you ziptie your plastic fenders back
Want to do 35’s on 22 “ wheels. 2” level up front
What gear ratio do you have and does it shift from 8 to 7 on the highway because of the 35 tires
I have 2inch spacers does it still work fine?
Are your rims the standard 20x8? I have a big horn as well but mine are 18x8 so I wanted to see if I can fit the 35x12.50 on the stock Ram rim
YES mine are the rim package on my bighorn, you shouldn't have a problem fitting 35s with your 18x8 rims. As I said you may need the 1/4 inch spacer. Let me know if this helps, don't forget to subscribe!

The dealer is correct, there 2 kinds of lifts, you can get coil over fox level or you can get what I have and it's just a basic spacer
I have 2020 North Edition adding a simple leveling kit would I be able to run 305/70/18 without rubbing?
Appreciate your help
100%, shouldn't rub at all, worst case you might need 5mm spacer, shouldn't cost more than 45$. But I don't belive you'll need them
Are these tires E or F load? There's a slight difference in the diameter.
Does this truck have the off road package? The off road package comes with a factory 1" lift.
I belive there E rated, I will confirm when im home for you, no offroad package just a 2" leveling kit!
Just bought the same year truck and tires getting out on this week. Wondering what your highway mpg is at with them?
Highway I average 14.5L/100km
Any issues with transmission from running heavier tires?
Any issues with your transfer case?
When you put the 35s on there did it lift it up any ?
👍👍
MPG with 3.92 and 35s, Can you still get over 20 MPG on the highway>
My average highway would be around 16.4mpg
Same tire with -18 off set wheels would work right? Instead of the leveling spacers I went with 2" leveling struts in the front. Getting ready to order nitto grappler tires and fuel vaper wheels with-18 offset. I drive a 17 Ram 1500 Laramie. Just installed a cold air intake and getting ready to install a Borla exhaust system. Any comments on the tire setup is appreciated.
Sounds like you got it figured out, and the offset rims are tge way to go for sure, also like borla, should have an aggressive sounding truck!
Did the cold air intake help on your MPG?
What happen to your mpg with 35’s ?
Do you need spacers for the rear also??
Yooo question I want to get 35s,I have a 2.5 front level will I still need the quarter inch spacer if I already have 1.5 inch spacers??
No
Hey brotha, do you know if 1” spacers would work with this setup? Without rubbing too much. Or if I did 11.5 wides, would 1” spacers work then?
Not to sure to be honest, I know you'll have to new new studs for your hub as your factory studs are longer than 1". You won't be able to mount tire your rims if you don't. But I'd think it it would still rub not sure how bad
You can get wheel adapters, they’re much safer and bolt on
Gonna drive to show you they don’t rub but they do rub when you turn the wheel, 😂😂😂😂😂
Yes which I said if going over bigger bumps on full cut you'll get a little bit of rub

@@MotoFlows 35s won't give you any trouble, if you have 3.92 gearing you'll be good.
I have a 2019 ram bighorn do you think it will rub with 24x10 wheels with 33 hybrid tires
I'm not 100% sure, if it has an offset maybe. They are wide rims and you'll have to make sure it clears your upper control arms.
It annoys me when people say it’s fully loaded when in reality it’s no where near fully loaded. If it was fully loaded it would be called the ram limited or ram longhorn.
It's is fully loaded for a bighorn and very comparable to the higher models
Hey bud did you change your ucas? Or kept stock ones? And how are they holding up? And you think i could fit 35s x12.5s on just a 2" level or i have to have those spacers?
Ucas? Sorry my brain isn't working, I didnt change anything everything is stock, the spacers you could probably get away not having them, my buddy fit 35x12.5 on his truck with no level, rubs a little bit more. But with a 2" level you should be good to run 35x12.5 with minimal to no rubbing!

Id think theyd fit, when installing make sure the mechanic or yourself looks at the rear side of the wheel and see if it touches your upper control arm. If it doesnt touch your good to go
@@project4793 Joe Smart ok they just called me from the tire place and said it cleared the upper control arm by 3/4 inch and they said they don’t recommend because they don’t know if the tire side wall will hit the control arm when I drive ,so now I don’t know what to do .3/4” sounds like enough room but who knows
@@emersonartuso id add the 1/4 inch spacer, ps if its 3/4 of an inch away it should be fine. Your tire should never get closer to your control arm, if it does that means you have ballpoint issues making your alignment off
@@emersonartuso I had a buddy run his on an older truck with only 1/4 gap between his control arm and tire, you will be fine! :) but then again don't take my word for it.

Honestly I think so
Would 2" spacer work better than 1/4"? I really don't want any rubbing and I am thinking about getting motofab 2.5" leveling kit. TIA
No a 2" spacer would cause more rubing on your inner wheel well, as your tire is sticking out further, 1/4" spacer is there to space it out from your upper control arm. Mine barley ever rubs, but a 2" spacer would make a worse offset and hit your fender, maybe try for a less wide tire :)
@@project4793 thanks for the prompt response! I have the same truck quad cab with 3.92 and I'm trying to have a similar setup. I'm want to use my factory 20" rims I'm just worried about rubbing.
@@HookedonHD any time! My truck only rubs reversing while cutting the wheel to full lock turning right. Depends on what tire brand you have as well, alot of tires arnt actually the size they advertise. Don't forget to leave a like, if you need anything else let me know
How much did the labor cost for the spacers
Not really anything, it just slides over your studs, so if you got your tires rotated or new tires it wouldn't cost anything for labour other than your tire rotation or tire instalation :)
Or you could have went with a 295-65r20 that would have been 11.0 wide. No need for spacers
Yeah but I wanted 12.5 wide, I like the stance!
Do you have any vibration from the universal spacer? Thank you for the video!
No it drives just like normal! The 1/4 spacer leaves your hub expose slightly so the rim still sits on it and is centered perfectly! Thanks for the comment
Thank you for the reply! I put the 35 x 12.5 x 20 on my 2017 Bighorn with 1/4 spacers and it worked perfectly! Again, thanks for the video!
@@markrich8888 glad it worked out for you 👍 your truck must be looking sharp now
Do your tires stick out any more than stock tires?
Yes they do, the poke out of the fender slightly as they are wider tires
So is a 2 inch leveling kit the new real level cause with my 2.5 inch leveling kit on my lonestar sport I’m noticing I have a slight squat I thought 2.5 inch leveling kits were always the perfect leveling kit but idk anyone else runnin a 2.5 and noticing a squat
i belive with the new rams, 2" match up perfectly level with the rear. But with the 2.5 leveling kityoull be able to fit larger tires with a little bit less rub :)
I bought a 3 inch front, 2 inch rear level kit. When I installed the front I noticed my 2020 Ram Bighorn was perfectly level so I haven't installed the rear part of the kit yet. It's level so I probably won't install the rear.
You recalibrate your speedo?
No I didn't, its off about 6 km/h at about 100km/h :/ I got use to it
What about -12 offset 17 inch rims?
I'm not 100% sure I'd say they fit, you wouldn't need the spacer as your rims are -12 offset, you may have rubing issues by the rear of your tire on the inner fender as the -12 offset will take clearance away from some of your turning radius, you could fit 35s but I'd look for something under 12" wide
Ok....so it rubs if you turn left...
I can cut all the way, it rubs slightly when turning left in reverse
@@project4793 Please don't get me wrong, it looks good!

I think it pay rub a bit not 100% sure, and the thing with 1 1/2" spacers is there not thick enough so you end up having to cut your studs to fit them
If you have the factory ram wheels you should have the pockets in the wheel and you can go with a 1.5 inch spacer without cutting the studs. Go with Bora Spacers, I run 2”

Why does this matter? I just got a truck 3.92 and looking to get bigger tires too is there a diffence
@@NoSpillsChills you need a 3.92 Axel ratio to run bigger tires on your truck. 3.21 gears are made for highway miles and you pretty much have to keep the with stock tires and wheels. And also 3.92 gives your more towing and acceleration.

Would i be able to clear 35s with the stock 18s?
With a level and 1/4 inch spacers you shouldn't run into any problems:)
You should be able to clear a 35x12.5 on factory 18x8 wheels as you will gain an extra 1/2" of clearance from the UCA by running an 8" vs. 9" wide OEM wheel. Also, the section width of the 12.5" tire will be slightly reduced by using a more narrow wheel, which also provides more clearance on the inside.
hope you're enjoying your 5mpg

Rides the same?
Rides the same yes! But you do feel the road alot more with mud tires on!
mpg drops about 3 points, and the pickup feels much slower, I think that you have to program the computer so that the pickup knows that it has 35 rubber, and that the transmission throws its changes as it should.
@@luisulloa6570 id check what gearing ratio you run because my truck still picks up very fast and I average 14.5mpg in the city, and it still does a wicked burnout on top of that
Project 479 3.92
@@luisulloa6570 I do understand what your saying though, yes in theory you will loose slight power but in my opinion its not noticeable, the reason for slight loss in MPG is being the tire is wider, making more contact with the road increasing your rolling friction, meaning it will take a slight bit more power to turn! Proper way would be to get your computer reprogrammed for the right size tire, but it doesn't effect anything mechanically, but it will read on your speedo as if you are going slightly slower than you are actually driving! But it doesn't effect your tracked milage as your speedo reading and your tracked milage on your truck come from 2 different sources! Thanks for your comment
So they do rub. Thanks for wasting my time
With adding the 35-in tires did you have your speedometer recalibrated
No but it is off, I kinda just used a speedo on my phone and after about 2 months I figured out what the difference between what my speedo said on my truck and what I was actually driving.
@@project4793Having it recalibrated doesn't just correct the speedometer. It also adjusts the transmissions shift points back to where they are supposed to be, where they were with the stock size tire.
